We have legs and horses and ppl will take charge.

You think it would be that organised? Come on. Eventually maybe, but the initial two weeks or so would be utter chaos. You don't leave the fate of your family in the hands of strangers, you go out there and make sure they're fed.

How would they get established? Who gives it to you when they don't get it themselves? The country itself can not trade with any other country, cars don't work, transport is non-existent.

We do what we already do, grow it or produce it ourselves. Where I live right now we have the facilities/possibilities to produce what we need to be self sufficient in times like this. That's how it is with a lot of these old villages in Sweden. We have the knowledge of how to live without power because it is all well documented in books and we learn how to live off the land from the moment we learn to walk.

That's basically what children's TV and books are about here, how to survive in the woods/off the land.

You seem to think that the world would collapse without global trade and import/export. I think smaller communities like the one I am in can survive a post apocalypse like the one you describe fairly well after some initial backlash. Bigger cities are a completely bigger issue.

All in all I don't think the every day Scandinavian person would have too big a problem since 90% of us know how to live off the land and without power either way since it is a fairly big part of our culture. We are taught this from childhood.

I'd make sure my Mam is fed, the others can get their own goddamn food.

I'm still very doubtful, but without knowledge of this mystique village I can not debate it.

I would hope nothing like this ever happened as I know people all across the globe (not literally EVERYWHERE maybe, but in several places) would see an excuse to act like a primitive caveman idiot and go around rioting and destroying and stealing shit. Probably murdering people too, since in a situation like this, normal morals/ethics fly right out the window for many.

Anyway, considering I've been stolen from by someone in the apartment complex across the fence from where I live (it has to be them, as they're the only people I live next to), I'd arm myself with a weapon (I would think ahead and prepare for a situation like this, so I'd already have a gun and plenty of ammo on me) to keep anyone who wanted to come over to my house in droves away.

Hopefully in a universe where this happened, I'd be wealthy and living in a mansion and have a whole shitload of high-tech security that prevented anyone from coming near my property without turret guns coming out of the grounds and blowing trepassers away and stuff.

To make a long story short: We would revert to farmers, hunters, fishers etc which is the backbone of Scandinavian culture. Farming communities are rather self sufficient. Excess food is traded for services which will result in the creation of other trades like roofers, builders, masons, smiths etc and that in turn will push the creation of a new financial system. As these communities grow some form of law system will also develop and a power structure which will be funded by taxes (likely consisting of food).

It would be reverting to farmer/feudal society in a sense. There would be road bumps for sure but up here I think it would be relatively painless compared to other parts of the world like the United States or even England. Other parts of the world like Africa and some Asian countries will have it even easier to adapt.

This is what I see happening to my country at least.

England would cease to exist as Chavs would rin out of booze in a week causing a mass increase in intelligence resulting in many a fatal duel ending the English in a little over two weeks.

Its why our government keeps us so drunk.

We would probably just start jousting while eating all the remaining crumpets. Even though no electricity doesn't mean we can't brush our teeth, we still won't, and will use that as an excuse.

Imagining the rage for the queue for the jousting. Also the weather needs shitting on somewhere.
