I'd probably eat my brother. Not for food he's just annoying as fuck.

Better to be safe than sorry :pity:
I highly doubt most of the population would go crazy like that at all. What excuse would people have just because electricity is gone to go and rob people and break into houses? People still have money and food. Those two things are still obtainable without electricity....

I think stocking up would have to be a priority. It's more or less guaranteed to quickly escalate into a dog-eat-dog world, and all laws become void. I'd find a way to stack up on food - food that lasts a long time - and then get myself protection.

You don't know. Say it's been off for days, and could be permanent.

And I am where I am right now? I'd be fine. I'm out in a small countryside town, big lake with lots of fish passing through, lots of cattle, lots of farms growing vegetables and lots of game in the forest plus everyone knows how to hunt. Heating would be the biggest issue I think but that's manageable.

Had I been in a big city it would have been a completely different ball game.

You really think everyone in your small town will be as cool as you? "Oh, no electricity? Nevermind, let's go for a paddle in the lake" - it'd be chaos.

Pretty sure it wouldn't happen at first, but I'm sure slowly people would start to go crazy. Taking something like that away from a country like America(especially in a state like California) would only result in a primitive response.

We live in a world where electricity means everything. All the meat in stores will go bad. People would lose money. What do you think EMP bombs exist for? Because they know electricity means everything. I'm speaking very long term.

Honestly: Yup. I can say that without a hint of naivety. We spend so much time out in the woods anyways that this would be nothing but a minor set back anyway.

Meat: Salt it, wrap it in paper and put it in a hole in the ground, the coolness of the ground keeps it fresh, same with the salt.

Get food then relax. Got a wind up radio and torch so I'm sweet with food as well.

No phones, internet or working cash registers don't seem like it'd create a mass panic to me. :meh:
Everything. Eventually cars won't work, stores would have to reassemble(assuming they haven't been robbed yet), public transportation out the door, food going bad, and just so much more.

That's pretty smart stuff and all. But once you run out of meat you're done for. My main priority would be finding oranges. My area has tons of orange trees.
