Why Would Hook Retire the FTW Title?

We’ve all listened and replied to what you’ve said. We’re just confused at why you feel there’s still more to be said about this particular topic.

My opinion has yet to be even come close to being swayed on this.

Chasing a second accolade seems common to me, US champions on Raw would constantly chase after the tag team titles and WWE title. Why did they even let Hook challenge for for the world title while he still had the FTW title?

And wouldn’t win them, but I think you also know the difference between being the second highest champion in the company and being the unsanctioned champion. US champion is a higher accolade than tag team so that’s a lateral move.

There's no reason on Earth why he couldn't win other titles while still having the FTW title, other than you just don't want him to.

There’s a difference between couldn’t, and wouldn’t. Just to make that clear. Because a booker technically could do anything he wanted to. However, a booker wouldn’t give his d-list unsanctioned champion a major title in his company at the same time.

Again, unless it was a part of a bigger, ongoing storyline about someone overcoming the odds to get to the real belt, but the pay off to that angle would literally still be him retiring it after he wins that major title, just like Taz did with the original.

I guess the bigger question is why did they bring back a title that has zero value to anyone back that like 5 people remembers?

No one wants or cares about it, so what does it really do in the grand scheme of things?

Nothing it was a prop used to help elevate Taz's son. So, throwing away a prop that has no significance to anyone else in the organization does the same thing it did for him.
