Why Fans Need To Stop Chanting CM Punk

If you didn't watch it -
He explains that chanting CM Punk, while funny in certain scenarios (like in Chicago), most of the time it is just annoying to the people watching who know he is not relevant in WWE anymore. He then goes on to say how it can be bad for the actual wrestlers in the ring who are trained to do things according to the crowd's reaction. They are told not to react to CM Punk chants so what are they to do? It ends up being like a disrespectful thing to do. Yeah, they are there to serve us as entertainers but the crowds who chant "CM Punk" are basically saying "You aren't what I want to see!". If I was a wrestler and heard that during my match, I would be p'd off.

One of the comments on the video reads:
"CM Punk Chants are fine when it's Stephanie, but when Triple H is on TV he's trying to get Seth Rollins over and the crowd is sandbagging him with CM Punk chants it hurts Rollins, because Vince thinks Chanting CM Punk = Seth Rollins Isn't Over."

What are your thoughts? Should fans stop these chants or does it not impact the show in any way?

The guy has been gone for 3+ years now. Get over it. If fans are so out of ideas for chants maybe they should just stay quiet.

While CM Punk chants need to stop (I personally don't mind 'em during Stephanie segments, tbh), but those chants ain't worse than "What?" or "We are awesome."

But yeah, fans should drop it already and come up with something different.

No they chant that shit cuz the show sucks, they're pissed off or bored about what's happening, or they flat out don't like whose performing. Well...if they don't like the product...they shouldn't attend the show...they should stay at home & chant CM Punk...

The CM Punk chant is the worst "thing" about the WWE in my opinion...

It's cool It doesn't bother me unless they are chanting it during a match....that is very disrespectful to The superstars who are performing! But during Steph or Trips segs I could care less...I like to watch em swurm a lil bit trying to see how they will overcome the chant lol.......I wonder what would happen if a crowd KEPT chanting CM PUNK literally all night even if like The Undertaker came out CM PUNK CM PUNK CM PUNK....What would they do?

If you don't like the product...then don't go to the events, don't watch the network and don't
buy the merch...

I'm pretty sure the WWE doesn't care if the crowd chants Boring, CM Punk or What?! because
at the end of the night...they have the crowds money.

If people really want to send a message then ignore the WWE...

I also find it annoying as being in Australia...we don't get that many opportunities to see a WWE
show...and even when they do have a show Down Under its miles away from me and I can't afford
to pay for the cost of the show and the travel.

So I sit here and watch and listen to the "idiot" crowds chant like assholes and all I can think is...

Spot on. The CM Punk chants have little to do with any demand or even hope that he come back. They are there to antagonize WWE staff, Stephanie McMahon more than anyone else.

Stephanie has no one to blame but herself for this, as she has really been the only onscreen personality who has responded to the chants. In fact, that was her mistake because she showed that the fans were actually getting to her with the chants. Fans realized that they could get under her skin and so she gets bombarded with these chants because people want to do it again. Personally, I find it hilarious.

In regards to whether or not the fans should stop chanting "CM Punk," I have no problem with the fans chanting whatever they want to. It doesn't bother me in the least.
