Lol you're such a fucking idiot this is about his pre WWE run.

Forgive me for not having a clue about what is going on in the most pointless arguement I've seen in some time on the forum... and I've seen some pretty pointless ones *waves to Crayo*

Lol. So this was all about you not liking the style Ambrose is best at? That's fine. Though it has made this whole conversation seem incredibly pointless. I can talk about Ambrose all day, as you can tell I write a lot about him, but I'm not fond of users going onto Skype - away from a place they can get hurt - and labelling this an ownage or something. All I can see behind the walls of text is us saying we enjoy him on different levels. From what I can tell, Suicide can't be trolled, the guy makes awesome rebuttals lmao, but I am still a bigger Ambrose mark than him :finger:

One question about Moxley though, what opportunity did he have NOT to talk like the psycho? Was his gimmick not orientated around that specific niche all the time? If you were a promoter and had someone like Ambrose, would you not utilise him in his best state?

It's not a case of not liking it it's a case of wanting him to show he wasn't a one trick pony, so many other guys have changed their persona's throughout the time on the indies so why couldn't he do it? I like him but didn't overly enjoy his career as Moxley for that reason. I don't cae what he talks about on skype tbh, the majority of people probably talk shit on him about it.

This is what started it all by the way :punk:

"He was, his wrestling was beyond poor and his mic work leaves alot to be desired outside of his I talk verrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyy sloooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwllllllllyyyyyyy THEN SHOUT QUICKER AND LOUD TO SHOW I'M CRAZY! Just an IMO but he has his niche he's very good at but I bet I could name a fair few who were / are better guys who had better delivery than him on the scene at the time who offered more variety."

Bare in mind we're talking about him before he signed with the WWE.

Yes sir, you gentleman from Kentucky.

Argument? It was a debate, an argument would have involved me and Crayo flaming eachother this was lovely.

That makes me understand a bit more, so that's good. Now that you've seen his Shield run, are you optimistic he can change it into other heel personas? I still haven't seen anything that makes me think he'll be a decent face, but Punk is a MUCH better heel than a face as well imo, so it's not a bad thing. Piper and such were the same. I don't bad mouth behind in Skype. If I do, I have said it on here. Anyway back to Moxley. Remember, I didn't have much to compare Moxley too, but I did see similar gimmicks, and I always preferred Ambrose. He had something that made it seem real and not forced.

I think people seriously label any fans as die hard marks for no reason. I enjoy Ambrose so much, but I'm not like Gohan and Punk. Suicide isn't either. I agree that changing your persona is necessary if you're to become great, and I honestly believe Ambrose can do it (and he has so far).

Yeah I typo'd there I meant the majority of people probably bitch about each other on skype, just speculation but it probably happens.

He has the whit about him to be a face but he's got that sleezeball look to him so I'm unsure, it would work as a WWE face as they currently are IMO. Wade has more of a chance now a days IMO. Punk as a heel or face without restrictions / being lazy is equal IMO. Watch him from when he began his turn from against Joe to Disember before Dishonour that was a great babyface chasing the title which was robbed from him by the time limit. Still we're off on a tangent now, we best not argue with Jonamod about.

True. I enjoyed Punk's MITB face run as much as any heel work he has done, but because of WWE, his heel work is consistently better. You can have like 10 heel gimmicks do well in current WWE, because they have more freedom, but it's seemingly so hard to get over as a face with everyone. Punk did it with MITB, Bryan is doing it now as the IWC darling and most exciting wrestler on the roster with a gimmick that doesn't just mean smile at fans. Sorry for keeping it solely with WWE.

I should probably go back and watch that with Punk. I enjoyed what I have seen of him back then. But it's a completely different booking environment to the point of seeing WWE realistically pulling it off is in the land of #FantasyBooking that we made trend on WF back in the first few days it was made.

Punk going back to that now would be horrible sadly, even if it was booked perfectly the psychology is wrong for a 5 time world champion (6?) lord knows. Plus you had the dominant babyface who ran through everyone with honour break the companies code of respect.

Agreed. He could still have the fundamentals of that gimmick though - seriousness. So soon after MITB Punk he turned into the WWE face of smiling at crowds and making poop jokes. WWE need a face like AJ Styles currently in TNA, or someone that isn't so damn crowd-conscious. Serious faces ftw. :D

Yeah, Punk doing his original Summer of Punk run/character now would not have the same effect. Mainly because he has held the major belt 2 times and the other big belt 3 times. The big dastardly move in the original one was that he was holding ROH's big belt hostage and was planning on leaving for bigger pastures with it, something he did at MITB 2011. That could work for a younger character who has his first WWE title run. But then there has to be a logical place for him to leave to. Imagine a young talent saying he is taking the WWE belt somewhere else to defend it instead of just leaving.
