I wish we had a legitimate third party. Or even a fourth one. We have so many options in our country for damn near everything except politics. (well..political parties that can substantially compete, that is) :(

Your 3rd party candidate was arrested outside of the debate last night.

Apparently your media just forgot to mention it

P.s. it always makes me laugh when I hear Americans label Obama as 'socialist'. Speaking as someone who comes from a part of the world where we still have actual socialists, I can safely say Barack Obama is not a one of them. There are NO mainstream socialist politicians in America, they're just centrists and then varying degrees of right-wing.

Well considering their isn't a third party thats an inaccurate statement if you mean one of the loons in any of those other parties that exactly what I expect I can get on a ballot and if I get arrested outside the debate I would expect a national spotlight

She's a presidential candidate, she's the leader of a party that regularly runs (Ralph Nader ran, was it 4 or 5 times?), so there is a third party in the US, just no one bothers to vote for it.

I just find it surprising that the nominee of the Green Party and presidential candidate being arrested wasn't deemed newsworthy.

It wasn't deemed newsworthy because even though it is a "third party" its like who? The last time a third party candidate was taken seriously was Ross Perot. Other than him... third party has been irrelevant. And whoever that chick is... irrelevant.

I mean really... I'm almost positive that Mickey Mouse would get more votes than her. That is how irrelevant she is.

You don't think Nader was relevant in the 2000 election? Given the argument he may have cost Gore Florida? Not saying he did but I think Nader definitely played a part in that election.

I'm not suggesting Stein being arrested should be top news, obviously it's not going to be, but if it happened here, I'd like to hear about it later in the news bulletin.

Ummmm... I said nothing about Nader. I'm not even referencing Nader in any of this. My post is strictly on whoever that chick was.

I've said it before... there were times when third parties had little relevance but not much to make a big difference. This chick isn't even on the radar.

This was just brought to my attention from George Takei. Take it however you wish, I just found it interesting.
