SOURCE: The Wrestling Observer

The Wrestling Observer reports that The Undertaker, 45, suffered a broken orbital bone and nose in his 5/25 match against Rey Mysterio on 5/25 in Cleveland. In addition, Undertaker also suffered a concussion.

It is believed the injury occurred from taking the seated senton move by Mysterio during the match that aired this past week on Smackdown. At this point, it is considered 50/50 if Undertaker can compete at the 6/20 Fatal Four way match.

Due to the Undertaker's absence, Mysterio, who is scheduled for a vacation, has been called back to action. If Taker can not compete at the PPV, it is likely that Mysterio would take Undertaker's spot. Changes could be taking place as soon as the Smackdown tapings tomorrow.

OMG YEAH, HE BROKE HIS NOSE, HE SHOULD TOTALLY JUST RETIRE...MIRYTEPPL!?

He broke his nose, how would that in any way warrant retirement for the guy who has done nothing but have awesome matches for the past 5 years of his career. He's also one of the only people in the company who is actually over with the crowd on a consistent basis.
While I don't think Taker needs to be anywhere near the title right now, putting at least one big name in the match in order to attract some fans to it was a smart idea. Compared to RAW's Cena/Sheamus/Orton/Edge line up it does seem a bit thin... especially with one of their worst booked champions not even needing to be pinned to lose the title.

Agreed.

Yes he should stay because he hasn't done everything there is in the WWE, he hasn't competed in a WM yet and won, he hasn't had an over 15 year career, he hasn't had nagging injuries, he hasn't had a HOF career yet. Yes he should totally stay for the sake of collecting a paycheck.

The fact that he's won at Mania, been there over 15 years and feuded with most people around means he should retire? By your logic guys like HHH, Edge and Cena should also be gone.

With a career like he has, I mean what is left to do? Beside, he's been contemplating retirement for sometime now. Its not like his injuries are going to dissappear like magic. The difference between the guys you named and the Undertaker is that they are relevant in major feuds right now and they are still relatively young. Undertaker on the other hand, isn't.

When has an injury ever effected Undertaker's in ring performance? So I suppose Taker's feud with HBK was neither relevant or major?

Yes, his feud with HBK was a major feud. Half of it had to do with the retirement stipulation. Honestly, who right now on the Smackdown roster could Undertaker have an enjoyable feud with?

Why does he suddenly take so much time off when he wants to? There's a reason why Undertaker works a match here or there on Smackdown.

Do you ever maybe think that maybe the Undertaker is HAPPY doing what he loves to do? Or maybe the fact that the WWE needs someone of his caliber to be a top star considering there aren't very many. How dare you tell someone to stop doing what they love to do and stop earning a living. People that make comments like that make me sick. Get out of the scripted world of storylines in pro wrestling. He is doing what he loves to do, is surrounded by his friends and family (his girlfriend). Why would anyone ever want to retire if they had a job like that? He is there because he is the Undertaker, a hell of a worker. The WWE needs him more than ever and you are saying he should retire? He should walk away from his life?
