For months now Mark Henry has become the monster that he always should have been. He has been on a rampage taking out anyone in his way and getting rid of all the other monsters in WWE. He "injured" Show, Kane and Khali the three biggest guys in the company and he did it with ease. Then at HIAC he finally won the World title, fifteen years into his WWE career he won the big one after beating Randy Orton for the title.

He has beaten Show, Kane, Khali, Orton and Sheamus so the question is who can beat him?

Show went to a no contest with him at Vengeance so he will surely get another title match but really should Show be champion again.

Kane has yet to return but when he does you have to assume that he will seek revenge on Henry and will get a title shot.

Orton is the top face on Smackdown but has failed a couple of times in his quest to defeat Henry. Does he somehow fluke a win over Henry?

Sheamus was the only one to look strong against Henry. He lost a match against him due to being counted out but he was still crawling to the ring as he was counted so he wasn't completely out of it.

Daniel Bryan is the current MITB briefcase holder on Smackdown and he has said that he will cash it in at WM28 against whoever holds the title. WWE have even started promoted that match-up. Will Henry hold the title all the way until WM28 and if he does can Bryan beat him?

Are there any others that you think could beat him?

So vote in the poll and then post your thoughts on who should win the title from Henry.

Voted Sheamus.

I don't want Randy Orton being in the title picture for a while, whilst it looks like Big Show may have another chance. I see Henry going over once again, Sheamus would make sense due to the fact he's been given a big push right now. He is the only one who didn't get pinned by Henry, he was up and crawling to the ring.

I'd say Sheamus because he's the best choice.

Sheamus is being pushed to the moon right now and getting over. I think Henry holds the title until Elimination Chamber but could see Sheamus take it from him if anyone does.

I went with Sheamus as well. He has been the only one who has not been completely destroyed by Henry and hasn't had to enter his Hall of Pain. I would keep giving Sheamus wins over guys like Christian and keep building him up. Let Henry face Show again and then Kane and then eventually book Sheamus vs. Henry. They need to take their time with this and need to wait until at least next year before booking it. I would prefer it if they waited until WM and had Sheamus win a singles match against Henry for the title but that won't happen because it ruins the Daniel Bryan MITB storyline.

Am I the only one who sees the true life similarities of David vs. Goliath and booking promise that is Daniel Bryan vs. Mark Henry? Mark Henry has toppled EVERYONE tall, small, big, and large and is unstoppable. Who can stop the unstoppable? The underdog. Daniel Bryan. The Submission Specialist. Imagine the promos that could be made from this and the story practically writes itself. How big of a moment would it be to have Bryan cahs in on a dominate champion who has ran roughshot over everyone on the roster and for Daniel Bryan to not only beat Henry but make him tap out to the LeBell Lock......What a WM moment.

I really think Henry should continue as champion until the Royal Rumble or the Elimination Chamber.

The World Heavyweight Championship doesn't have many 100+ day title reigns since April 1st, 2007, which is Wrestlemania 23 where Undertaker beat Batista for the title. Before Wrestlemania 23, there were 14 World Heavyweight Championship reigns, with 6 of them lasting 100+ days (shortest was 112 days). Since Wrestlemania 23, there have been a further 32 World Heavyweight Championship reigns, but only 3 have lasted over 100+ days, which is just staggering when you think about it. Just for the record, those 3 reigns were Edge's 2nd (105 days), Undertaker's 3rd (140 days) and Kane's one and only (154 days).

To add to this, the two shortest World Heavyweight Championship reigns before Wrestlemania 23 were 28 days, with the next being 76 days. Since Wrestlemania 23, there have been two 0 day reigns, a 2 day reign, an 8 day reign, a 20 day reign, a 21 day reign, and also three 28 day reigns. I get there are way more reigns to cover there, but that's still a little ridiculous.

I've voiced my opinion before on statistics like this for the WWE Championship, but unfortunately the same can be said for the World Heavyweight Championship. The time of the long World Championship reign is pretty much dead, which is why I want to see Mark Henry as World Heavyweight Champion for a little while yet, furthering underlining his dominance in what could be his only World Championship reign before he retires.

If Henry keeps the title until the Royal Rumble, his reign will have lasted 133 days. If he keeps it until the Elimination Chamber, it would reach 154 days, equalling Kane and Chris Benoit's only reigns as World Heavyweight Champion, which stands as the 3rd longest in history (Triple H's second reign lasted 280 days, Batista's 1st lasted 282 days). I'd say that is a very good way to send off a man whose career has never hit the heights it probably should've years ago.

Anyway, I voted for Sheamus. Apparently Big Show will face Mark Henry at Survivor Series, but also TLC in December. If Henry holds onto the title (which I hope he does), the next 2 PPVs are the Royal Rumble and the Elimination Chamber, and surely you'd think Sheamus would be the one to challenge Henry afterwards. Henry will have had a lengthy feud with Orton, then with Show, so Sheamus should be next considering how he has been built. I don't think Kane will return until the Royal Rumble, probably in the Royal Rumble match, which would rule him out... unless Henry holds the title until Wrestlemania, Kane wins the Royal Rumble, and we have a Triple Threat between Henry, Kane, and Bryan, with Bryan doing the unthinkable and winning the title. How about that :p

I picked other cause it'd be freakin awesome if Doink The Clown were to win it. But then he takes off his mask and it is Daniel Bryan or... pretty much anybody. But it has to be Doink. Woohoo Doink

I'd love to see Mark Henry take the title all the way to Wrestlemania, As stated by Aniking we hardly ever see a long title reign in this days WWE and what better way to make a guy who looks dominant a unstoppable monster? If i was writing this angle i would have Henry go though the likes of Big Show at Survivor Series, Then book him with Kane in nice little fued until Royal Rumble. After the Rumble we always get the messed up build to a Elimination Chamber match which i'd have Henry win, Then the following week on Smackdown you have Daniel Bryan hand over the briefcase to Teddy Long and ask him to sign it for Wrestlemania. There you have it, The perfect David vs Goliath match up which ofcourse you have Bryan win.

But the logical thing would be to have Sheamus pick up a win in the up coming months, You can't build that amount of steam for a guy to just hover around the upper mid card all Winter.

My only problem with that is... Mark Henry is not a guy that you build a long title around. His character is not strong enough, his wrestling abilities are not strong enough. Mark Henry is the guy that is used to get people over, be that "credible" monster, and get a reign or two in there. That's it. Nothing long because you can't have a guy wrestle his style of match over and over and over for months on end. That is why guys like John Cena, Randy Orton and others that have had those long reigns they work.

Power guys are not meant and were never meant for long reigns and Mark Henry is the embodiment and purest representation of a power guy. If there is a desire for a David vs. Goliath... for a Mark Henry vs. Daniel Bryan at Mania... what you need to do is have Sheamus win the belt at TLC. Then he has a short reign and loses it to Henry at the Elimination Chamber, BUT it has to be because of the guy that he will be fighting against at Mania. The guy HAS to be the sole cause for Sheamus getting pinned. He doesn't pin Sheamus, he pretty much finds a way to cheat in the Chamber match and costs Sheamus the match which will give him his program for Mania. Bryan is NOT to be in the Chamber match but he is watching the Chamber match. Henry and Bryan have their staredown after the Chamber with Bryan at the top of the entrance ramp with his case and Henry looking at him with the belt in hand. Then the weeks leading up to Mania you have the two feud. There has to be a feud and a couple of those instances you have to allow Bryan to get the Labell Lock locked in to the point that Henry taps. These are altercations, or perhaps a tag match where the ref is knocked out or occupied while Henry is tapping. That way when Mania comes... Bryan looks like David, Henry looks like Goliath, but you feel that Bryan has an actual chance of winning the match. It will actually be believable that Bryan could actually win. It'd still be shocking, it'd still be a WOW moment... but it won't look like a complete and utter fluke. It'll be an interesting match that will keep people watching and not assuming that they know the end result before it happens.

That way Henry doesn't have the belt forever, Sheamus gets a reign in there and also picks up a good feud leading to Mania and Bryan isn't stuck wrestling nonsense matches leading up to Mania but will actually look like he belongs there.

Oh yeah that would also mean a Raw guy has to win the Royal Rumble again. But... that'd be the real scenario that I would like.

Although Doink would be awesome :D

Sorry I don't want henry in a title match at Mania. I want the match to be a classic, that's what Mania title matches are about. It has to be memorable and something I want to watch again. Mark Henry can't do that so I'm really hoping for a Sheamus vs Daniel Bryan match at Mania. Ill miss Bryan being face but it will be cool seeing him go heel if this were to happen. Plus they fought last year at mania so it will be like from being dark match to near main event.

Sheamus vs. D.Bry means that they'll have to book Mark in another match. Which then means that we may not be guaranteed that he'll get an opponent that can wrestle but rather a "big guy" to create that "big match" feel which would turn out to be a waste of a match and a waste of time. At least if it was Daniel Bryan... it won't be a 5* but if things are done right... it'll be memorable. Especially if Daniel Bryan can win it. A heel Daniel Bryan vs. a face Sheamus... firstly why would the heel wait to cash in until an announced match? That in itself nullifies things and would make Bryan look dumb. Secondly a heel Bryan vs. a face Sheamus... Bryan would not stand a prayer of a chance against him. Bryan has to be a face that way the fans can get behind him and believe. If he is a heel all they are going to want is for him to get whooped and Sheamus is too strong of a face and it'd just look bad and be bad and could not be properly built. It wouldn't sell as good as Mark Henry vs. Daniel Bryan.

I mean trust me... I'm not a Mark Henry fan at all. I don't even want to see him with the world title but he has it. And the way to make the match look like it'll mean something... refer to my other post :p

Well would a face vs face work, I doubt it. Awesome point Slim, I must say I was out of touch there and just put it out there. I'm just not crazy about the idea of Henry in title match at Mania. I think Sheamus vs Barrett or Orton vs someone else on SD would have a bigger match feeling. My dream match is Orton vs Bryan tbh. The internet will be in full force for that match. The internet lovechild in Bryan against the internet's punchline in Randy Orton. That's just a dream though.

Exactly, Daniel Bryan would get a huge pay off from defeating Mark Henry. It would elevate him to new limits if this occured at Wrestlemania, Defeating the monster who could not be stopped for soo long. I understand Mark Henry has limited ability wrestling wise but with some smart booking and some interesting storylines he could last the tenure. Im not saying we will see 5* matches in the coming months but they could prove to be decent. Hell i don't think there are many stars on the Smackdown roster would could produce some 5* matches with the World title on the line, Taking into consideration who they consider their main guys.

I didn't go with Sheamus the main reason is I'd rather see him face Mark at armagedon or the Rumble right now I think they need to finish with Kane cause its looming have Henry win then move on to sheamus.

I am surprised that quite a few don't want to see Henry at WrestleMania. I think that Henry's matches the past few months have been good and he is a much better wrestler since he dropped all that weight. He is playing the monster heel to perfection and I think that this is the perfect way to have a long term champion on Smackdown. He is the monster so he should defeat everyone other than one top face because then when the face wins they will be over huge with the crowd for defeating this monster heel.
