Without Cena, there won't be someone you're interested in. He is the guy to feud with if you want another big time star. WWE relies on big time stars to sell out the many arenas they go to. If Cena goes this year, next year, the next 5 years even, we won't have one. We'll be left with utter crap. Who's the big heel everyone of us like going to feud with? "Oh no, he took out R-Truth, what an impact!".

Cena himself is a fucking AWESOME talent. It's their booking that make him unbearable to some, and that's a factor that can easily change. Losing Cena would be a massive loss to WWE.

It's the booking that has made him the star he is today. What, exactly, does he have that is so special - that makes him a star? Mediocre in-ring skills, good - V.Good Mic skills at best and a great look. That's it. If he hadn't gotten booked like a monster then he would just be another average talent.

Losing Cena himself and his talent would be no great miss for the WWE, but losing his character would be. How do you solve this? By pushing the young guys previously mentioned in this thread like Riley, Ziggler, Rollins etc to the level Cena is just now. It's not that Cena is uber-talented compared to all of them, he was just booked to the point that him being in WWE is paramount to them.

Do you think Ambrose doesn't have what it takes to become a great heel, and potential put folk over?

Ryback for sure. Bryan, Ziggler, Rollins, Kingston, Riley, Rhodes, Punk (if he doesn't retire as soon as we now expect) are possibilities. But THE man... THE face... I don't know.

Didn't Cena have neck surgery similar to Edge and Austin? If so, I wonder how many years he has left in him. I don't think he'll be wrestling in ten years, personally.

I'm 100% sure Cena won't be the top guy anymore within the next five years. Even if he is still around (which I wouldn't doubt), he may be replaced by another top babyface. He will eventually grow stale with the kiddies just like Hogan did, and speaking of which, since people want to make comparisons between Hogan and Cena so much, consider that Hogan was on top in the WWF for about 7-8 years overall before he left. Cena has been the top guy for about that long himself now. Looking at how the universe always works things out, maybe Cena hasn't much time left as the top guy. Hogan had 7-8 years. Bret/Shawn had only a few years, and Austin/Rock had about 3-4 years. Cena has been on top for over half a decade and we've been living in the Cena Era since 2005. Looking at the big picture, you have to think it's only a matter of time before something causes a change and WWE gets another top face of the company. You never know when they may hit upon something or someone special to carry the torch for the next 5-10 years.

No idea who that could be, though. One reason my interest in modern day wrestling had died is because most of the newer guys just aren't that special to me.
