A fair call I guess...I personally don't have a problem with the
"Look at me! Look at me!" style...I mean at least the person
believes enough in what they are trying to do to put it front
& center.

We probably just disagree about M.Night on a fundamental
level...I mean...he's one of my all time favorite filmmakers...
even when his films are objectively terrible.

Speaking of which...On Topic:

Unbreakable (2000)

unbreakable_movie_poster_by_themadmind-d9hv9jt.jpg

I'm still on my "M.Night kick" as it were & I think its because
I'm hyping myself up for Glass in January. This is my all time
favorite of his films & while it isn't perfect (Its not Citizen Kane)
nearly every scene works & the ending "twist" is still a huge
gut punch.

Willis & Jackson have great chemistry & it will be fantastic
to them reprising these roles.

You two need to stop fighting and sing this to each other

Grievous knows if I didn't mess with him that he would think something is wrong.

Split (2016)

SPLIT_RED-692x1024-519x768.jpg

Still watching some Shyamalan...and I find Split absolutely fantastic.

Its subtle, focused, interesting & has some amazing ideas flowing
though it. James McAvoy is stunning in his performance & I really
can't say enough good things about the awesome reveal at the
very end.

I also have to say that for a film that cost $9 Million to make...it
made $278.5 Million at the box office...which just shows what
you can achieve with an interesting story & some great actors
to tell it.

Bring on Glass, the final film in the Eastrail 177 trilogy.

The Visit (2015)

visit_ver3.jpg

So...I think the scene where the old man shoves his used diaper
into the young boy's face is a analogy for M.Night, this film & the
audience.

I think its analogy...

:emoji_thinking:

Seriously M.Night...where do these ideas come from?

Can I have some of the drugs you're on please?

Duel (1971)

Duel+poster.jpg

Even with his first film...you could tell Spielberg
was a genius. The tension & paranoia are off the
scale in this one...and its an easy watch at only
89 minutes.

Check it out if you haven't seen it.

And my next film was...

The Sixth Sense (1999)

the-sixth-sense.jpg

I'm still hitting the Shyamalan films...and I thought
I better watch his "best" before I watch his worst.

I still think this film is overrated...BUT...it is still an
amazing film.

Little Man Tate (1991) Fred Tate is a precocious child who's gifted. But his mother (Jodie Foster) is a low-class woman who works odd jobs such as hostess and waitressing to make ends meet. Jane Grierson of the Grierson Institute takes notice of Fred and wants him in her school for gifted children, this creates friction between his mother Dede (Foster) and Jane Grierson.

Tate is advanced in mathematics but doesn't have any instincts about the world around him. When a balls hits him, he doesn't move out of the way. When he crosses the road, he doesn't see a car coming. It fits into the stereotypes of young child geniuses who can calculate advanced mathematical problems at a breakneck speed but don't know how to watch the road and see a red light. (Maybe Fred Tate was a precursor to Sheldon Cooper?)

Watched the newest Jurassic World today. Great cgi, amazing, but the writing was atrocious. Every single character was absolutely idiotic, it was infuriating

An old man find an artefact that gives him immortality and later finds out he has become a vampire.

Guillermo del Toro's first movie and probably his best one IMO. Amazing movie with great actors, a great story and a great atmosphere. 9/10

Watched Ride Along and Ride Along 2... both films were funny and the chemistry between Ice Cube and Kevin Hart is great. Actions scenes were just average.. stories were just average. Acting was good.
