If you guys like anti heroes, watch "He Never Died" on Netflix. Henry Rollins has been in a few horror movies before, normally playing an anti hero (Wrong Turn 2). I loved "He Never Died" and gave it a perfect score... I do not expect most of you to agree, but the twist in the movie just blew me away.

Watching Legendary Historical Action Classic

300
p163191_v_v8_al.jpg

Like many others I mainly watched this for the pleasure of seeing Gerard Butler whip and kick ass as Leonidas.

To me this movie is somewhat (not completely) underrated as far as being a Action Movie

I always enjoy watch Movies, Documentaries, and TV series on Historical Warrior Legends...

Ghengis Khan, Alexander the Great, Leonidas, Shaka Zulu, Billy The Kid, Bass Reeves, and I think I've seen a Black Beard one.

Yeah this movie was awesome. And the ending was good with Leonidas throwing his spear at Xerxes cutting his face.

Proving he isn't a God, because God. Because Gods don't bleed.

I'll give this a 7.5 or 8 it's not the best but it damn sure is great.

EDIT: Now I'm trying to find Gerard's 300 workout

STAR WARS
2692832.jpg

I been up all day saying James Earl Jones' famous Vader Quotes "As you wish", "I've been waiting for you", "I have you now", "I am your father", etc.

Watch one of those classics where the Antagonist more interesting than the protagonist (ex: Training Day, Terminator, etc.)

This movie is a never-forgetting classic in movie history.

East of Eden (1955). Cal Trask (James Dean) is a young man with aggression issues who's stalking a middle aged woman Kate who's a successful businesswoman who owns speakeasies in Monterey, California. He's also hiding out in a barn where his twin brother Aaron and his girlfriend Abra and, in a fit of rage, is throwing chunks of ice down the shoot. It turns out his mother Kate is his mother. Cal's father is a Bible thumbing religious man who told his sons that their mother died instead of telling them the truth.

Cal showed a fit of anger towards his brother because he has feelings for his brother's girlfriend Abra. Cal attempts to extort his mother to give him a $5,000 investment in beans because World War I is going on and the price of vegetables are skyrocketing. Shockingly, his company Salina Valley Lettuce turns a profit but his father wants no part of it. East of Eden touches upon the theme of anti-German xenophobia as Gustav Albrecht's Shoemaking business was stoned by a rabid mob. It's similar to the anti-Muslim bigotry which is going on right now.

The Asphalt Jungle (1950). "Doc" Irving Reigenschneider has an elaborate scheme to break into Belletier's and swipe its jewels. He needs a hooligan Dix (Sterling Hayden) and a boxman Louie Cheveli and someone who's gonna buy the jewels, Alonzo Emereich a businessman who admired in the community. Trouble is, Irving Reigenschneider doesn't trust Alonzo Emereich. And he is right not to trust Alonzo, who's flat broke as he's spent his money on his high end mistress Angela Finley (Marilyn Monroe). Emereich and his hired goon Bob Branham try to steal the loot from Irving Reigenschneider and Dix but Dix, who's street tough, kills Branham in a memorable shoot-out.

While it's considered a classic, the plot was too convoluted. The moral of this story is crime doesn't pay but it didn't need to go on for nearly two hours to tell that story.

Johnny Eager (1942). Johnny Eager was an ex-convict who has turned over a new leaf as he works as a clean-cut, taxi cab driver........or so it seems. It's all a smokescreen as he's still involved in the illegal rackets, such as race tracks, slot machines, and gambling dens throughout the city. Police officer Angoknovski badge number 711 and District Attorney John Benson Ferrell are out to stop him. D.A. Ferrell even worked for free on behalf of the public interest to put Eager away in Stratfield prison on 1 out of 38 indictments (1 count for manslaughter).

There are a number of surprise plot twists and turns in Johnny Eager and, while it's no Award winner, for fans of film noir it's worth checking out. For the first ten minutes of the movie I thought Johnny Eager (Robert Taylor) really was trying to make an honest buck. He was so charming!

Lords Of Chaos (2018)

Well...its all just very sad really.

The actual music these men were trying to create was
overshadowed by their own need to one up each other
in a two man power struggle.

Frankly I've always found the "Bullshit Posturing" done
by many metal bands (& their fans) the worst part of
enjoying metal music in general.

I hate the "stigma" that comes with enjoying extreme
music & its one of the main reasons I myself quit singing
in metal bands about 10 year ago.

For me it was never about looking tough, drugs, drinking
or any of that bullshit.

I just enjoy music & the act & art of creating it with others.

The film itself was incredibly well shot & put together
with the violence being incredibly realistic especially
Dead's "legendary" suicide, Faust's park stabbing of
a gay man...and of course...the death of Euronymous
at the hands of Varg.

While I've personally never been able to fully appreciate
"Black Metal" as a genre...I'd advise everyone to at least
watch this film & listen to Mayhem's debut album...
De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas as it is truly is a powerful
& influential piece of music.

It also features both Euronymous & Varg...which in itself
is incredibly fucked up when you really think about it.

A murderer & his victim playing side by side on the same
album. Has that ever happened before or since?

All in All I really enjoyed the film...but I did take it with a
very, VERY large grain of salt.

Watched Narc (2002) staring Liotta and Jason Patric(?) last night. Wasn't impressed by the film making, very run of the mill, but Liotta is so damn good in this movie, his best performance post Goodfellas. Great ending too.

7/10

Unicorn Store (2019...well 2017 really)

th

Okay...so...how do I unpack this?

I think I understand what "they" were going for here...
but it just didn't work for many, many reason.

Brie Larson was too "normal" & old for the lead role...
Some of the line reads were fucking terrible...
The story doesn't really amount to anything...
The cinematography was bland & boring...
&
Most of the humor fell completely flat...

But...(Not Brie Larson's butt...she doesn't have one)...

I did enjoy watching the film simply because of how
weird, quirky, colorful & strange it was.

It has a certain charm to it that's hard to describe...
which sucks because I'm trying to explain why I
actually enjoyed the film...& I can't.

I think with a better director, a couple of re-writes &
Alison Brie in the lead role (yes she's older than Larson
but I believe she could play a younger role) this could
have been great...but as it is...its just odd.

Like when you see someone wearing a raincoat &
gum boots on a hot, sunny day...or when you see
someone who has a tattoo of their own face.

I'd say watch it just because of "The Quirk Factor"

*Shrugs*

5 out of 10?

4 out of 10?

I'm not really sure.
