The Wire.

People should get on that if you haven't seen it. By far one of the grittiest and most realistic crime shows I've ever watched. I found myself being clung on to every piece of dialogue and scene. It's really one of the best shows ever created to me.

Yes, I've heard nothing but great things about it. My best friend's older brother says it's his favorite TV show ever. I'm interested in seeing it. Amazing how many good series HBO has had.

It's def up there with mine. It's an odd show in the sense that it goes for realism more than following standard TV tropes which makes it even more suited for binging which wasn't a thing when it was airing really. The creator wanted to show Baltimore as realistic as possible though and does a great job, some very memorable characters. Each season has it's own theme though and season 2 is universally agreed upon as the worst (even though I've grown to love it a lot more) so keep that in mind if you don't care for it as much bc it's a bit of an outlier in terms of setting.

Oz has been on my list forever but I've never started it I rank Wire above Sopranos but both are towards the top for me. Both are similar in that it just feels like you're watching people's lives unfold instead of "plots" if that makes sense though.
