What Are You Watching Now?

It's VERY popular over here. Especially in it's prime, the final episodes of the show got a lot of viewers. It's cool to see someone from Texas enjoying the show. I feel like it's a bit harder to get in to watching from other countries because of the humour and theme of the show, but SO worth it. It's ruined a lot of other comedies for me, especially sitcoms, other shows just can't quite compare to it.

Yeah, there's references to it everywhere that I never would have gotten before in British stuff lmao their car was even in the Opening ceremonies for the Olympics in London awhile back if I remember right? I haven't watched a lot of British shows but the ones I have I really love.

Have you ever seen The Royle Family by any chance? Not the actual royal family, but there is a show and it's basically just a family sat around the TV and you'd never believe such a simple concept could be so funny. I'm not sure if it'll hit the same notes as Only Fools & Horses, but it's a genius show.

Nah I've heard of it at least. I think the only British shows I've seen are Only Fools and Horses, Sherlock, Monty Python's Flying Circus, and Black Mirror (if that counts, I haven't caught up on it but I saw the couple seasons before Netflix took over and made it more Americanized lol)

If you can find The Royle Family anywhere, it's worth giving it a shot. I would say it takes a couple of episodes to 'get it' but then you get hooked. It all comes down to if the characters pull you in, but the way they are written is quite realistic and reminds me of home, especially in the earlier episodes.

That's not a bad group of British shows. I'd definitely say Black Mirror counts, Charlie Brooker who is behind it is British and it originally aired on Channel 4 over here. I love re-watching some Black Mirror episodes from time to time, great show.
