WCW Monday Night Nitro
September 30, 2002
Ford Center
Oklahoma City, OK

We begin Nitro with Triple H, who is seen sitting on a bench in the locker room, staring at his WCW World Championship belt. Shawn Michaels comes from behind him and slaps him on the back. HHH nods as we cut to the opening video.

WCW Owner Shane McMahon makes his way down to the ring to kick off Nitro.

Shane McMahon: “That was one hell of a show last night wouldn’t you say Oklahoma City! It was last night in the War Games Cage Match where Team WCW reigned supreme over Brock Lesnar and The New World Order. So what does that mean? Well long-term, it means WCW is still riding high while we’re getting close to the end of the NWO for good! We’re not going to waste any time here. The next point of order is to get the WCW World Championship back in WCW’s hands. And I know the man to get this done. At Halloween Havoc, Triple H will defend the WCW World Championship against….”HOLLYWOOD” HULK HOGAN!

Shane McMahon is clearly expecting Hulk Hogan to make his way down, but instead “Medal” plays, and Kurt Angle makes his way down to the ring.

Shane McMahon: “Ladies and gentlemen, Kurt Angle!

Kurt Angle: Hulk Hogan, huh? What did Hulk Hogan do that was so special to get a title shot?”

Shane McMahon: “I had a feeling, Kurt, that you weren’t going to like this. But you know eventually you’ll get your shot. But Hogan’s the guy.”

Kurt Angle: Hogan’s the guy? He shows up a month ago and he’s the guy? I’ve been fighting Triple H all summer for this opportunity and now I have to wait behind Hogan. What the…”

Kurt Angle gets interrupted as “Voodoo Child” hits the speakers and “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan makes his way down to the ring! As soon as he steps into he ring, Angle gets in his face.

Hulk Hogan: “Listen brother. A big reason Triple H is the WCW World Champion right now is because I screwed you over and helped him win it. I didn’t forget. I need to right that wrong, brother. I need to slap down Triple H and bring back the WCW Title to WCW!”

Kurt Angle: “That’s righting the wrong? You screw me, then win the title yourself? Wow, if that ever sounded like Hulk Hogan. Always looking out for yourself. Maybe I won’t give you the chance to make it to Halloween Havoc, how about that?”

Hulk Hogan: “Look, I get it brother. But according to Shane-O-Mac, I got the next shot. But I promise you this, when I beat Triple H. When I drop the big leg on him and Hulkamania runs wild on him. When I get back the WCW World Championship, I promise you the very next shot. I’ll give you the opportunity to win back what I took from you.”

Kurt Angle: “I don’t know, I still like the idea of crippling you now and taking the shot myself!”

Triple H, Sean O’Haire, Shawn Michaels, and Eric Bischoff join the party and come down to the ring.

Triple H: “Listen to all of this. You know was sitting in the back worried about what Shane McMahon was going to do in regards of naming a #1 Contender. But Hogan? Let me tell you this…’brother’, you may be one of the biggest names in all of professional wrestling. You may be a six-time WCW World Champion. But your time is done Hogan. At Halloween Havoc, you’re not gonna have Kurt Angle and Booker T and The Giant and Diamond Dallas Page protecting your ass. But I don’t plan to even let you or Angle make it to Halloween Havoc. You see, up until War Games, I’ve been playing nice. And look where that’s got me. From this point forward, anyone who is a threat to me, the WCW World Title or the NWO will be taken out. We’re going to start that process tonight. Tonight, myself and Sean O’Haire, we challenge both you and Angle. And by the end of the night, Shane McMahon, you’ll need a new #1 Contender!”

Hulk Hogan: “Hey, that’s fine by me brother. Kurt, come on, let’s do this!”

Kurt Angle: “Let’s make this clear, I’m not doing this for you, Hogan. I’m doing this to take Triple H out now. And when I take out Triple H for good, I’m coming for you Hogan.

Triple H: “That’s all well and good. You both have decided to play the Game, and now you’ve fallen into the trap! We’ll see you later tonight!”

The NWO leaves, as does Shane McMahon and Hulk Hogan. Before Kurt Angle can leave though, Christian suddenly makes his way out!

Christian: “Hey, hey. Kurt Angle you may be going off putting yourself into matches or whatever the case tonight, but you may have forgotten something. Last night, fair-and-square, I won the #1 Contender’s Battle Royal for the United States Title. You may have your sights set on the World Title or Triple H or whatever, but I’m cashing in my shot at the US title right now!”

Kurt Angle: “Hey, I’ve got nowhere to be until tonight. Come on and let’s do this!”

::COMMERCIAL BREAK::

Mike Tenay:
“Welcome back to Nitro everyone, right now Kurt Angle is defending the United States Championship against Christian. Christian won a battle royal last night at Fall Brawl under controversial circumstance over Billy Kidman to earn this opportunity.”

Don West:
“It doesn’t matter, Mike, the end result said Christian won.”

WCW United States Championship
Kurt Angle © vs. Christian

Christian ducks an attack from Angle and gets punches, before Angle hits a double-leg takedown. Angle pounds away on Christian, then throws him out of the corner with a belly-to-belly suplex. Christians bails to the outside, but Angle chases him. Christian slides back into the ring and hits the ropes, then goes for a sunset flip when Angle gets back in. Angle blocks and ends up punching Christian in the face over and over. Angle tosses Christian into the corner again and hits a second belly-to-belly suplex. Christian again bails to the outside, but this time he catches Angle chasing him and runs Angle into the steel steps. Christian rolls Angle into the ring then climbs up to the top rope, but Angle comes to life and shoves Christian off the top rope, sending him flying into the barricade!

Angle drags Christian back into the ring and hits a belly-to-back suplex. 1…2…Christian kicks out. Angle catches Christian with a knee to the midsection, then stomps away on him some more. Another suplex from Angle. Cover, 1…2…Christian kicks out again. Angle gets a couple of shots in, but Christian reverses an Irish whip and hits Angle with a heel kick. Christian tries for the cover, but Angle quickly grabs Christian’s ankle for the Ankle Lock. Rene Dupree runs down to the ring and gets on the apron. Angle releases the Ankle Lock and knocks Dupree off the apron. Referee admonishes Dupree as Angle prepares to German Suplex Chrisitan…but Sean O’Haire jumps into he ring from the crowd with the US Title belt and bashes Angle in the back of the head! Angle collapses to the mat. Christian covers him and puts his feet on the second rope for good measure, 1…2…3! Just like that Christian has regained the US Title!

Winner: Christian via pinfall in 6:22 (New Champion)

Kurt Angle
sees O’Haire in the crowd and runs off after him, as Christian cradles his newly won US Title.

Shane McMahon
is talking on the phone, but tells whomever he’s talking to that he has to go when The Giant walks in.

Shane McMahon: “Big man, w…”

Giant grabs Shane by the shirt, terrifying Shane.

Giant: “Understand something, Shane. I came here at Starrcade last year to be WCW World Champion. That’s always been the plan. I’m not just going to stand here watching Hulk Hogan get title shots. I know Hogan. He might wear the red-and-yellow now, but he’s the same selfish son-of-a-bitch he’s always been. Trust me, I know. You might want to think about the #1 Contender spot for Halloween Havoc or I may have to do something that you’ll regret!”

Giant holds Shane in place when Diamond Dallas Page comes into the room to calm things down.

Diamond Dallas Page: “Hey, hey, Big G, calm down man.”

Giant: “This is bullshit, Dallas, and you know it!”

Giant releases Shane and storms out of the office, scaring Stacy Keibler, who was with DDP.

Shane McMahon: “Thanks, thanks, Dallas.”

Diamond Dallas Page: “Look I’ll talk to him and calm him down a bit, but Shane, he’s got a point man. Me and him should have gotten the shot before Hogan. We’ve been fighting this fight the whole summer.”

DDP walks off with Stacy as Shane McMahon takes a deep breath.

Lesnar jobs in place as Duggan gets into the three-point stance. Duggan ducks a clothesline from Lesnar, then hits Lesnar with a hard clothesline himself, but Lesnar barely moves. As Lesnar laughs at his beaten opponent, Kevin Kelly comes to ringside to interview Paul Heyman.

Kevin Kelly: Paul, I wanted to get your thoughts about Brock Lesnar and the New World Order coming up short in War Games last night.”

Paul Heyman: “That’s what you want to know? Brock Lesnar just demolished a sure-fire Hall-of-Famer in Jim Duggan and you want to talk about last night? I’ll tell you about last night. The NWO let Brock Lesnar down. It’s as simple as that.”

Kevin Kelly: “What about the rumors going around that, since he backed away from him in the War Games match, that Brock Lesnar is afraid of Booker T?”

Paul Heyman: “Excuse me? Brock Lesnar being afraid of Booker T?!” HAHAHA. Did you year that Brock?”

Lesnar steps out of the ring and crowds Kelly, clearly scaring the hell out of him.

Paul Heyman: “Does this look like someone who’s afraid of anyone in the world? Brock Lesnar made a strategic decision last night in War Games. The audacity of you to ask that question. Come on Brock.”

Lesnar grabs Kevin Kelly, but after Paul Heyman begs him to leave Kelly alone, Brock simply shoves Kelly to the floor.

Kevin Kelly: “Off…off to you Jeremy Borash.”

***

Jeremy Borash:
“I’m here with the new WCW United States Champion Christian. Christian, now that you’ve regained the US Championship, what’s next for you?"

Christian:
“Now that I have my title back, I think I proved no one can be compared to me. I’ve outsmarted, out-wrestled, and outclassed every single one of my opponents. Kurt Angle stole my title last month, and I just got it back. I’m the very best WCW has to offer, and eventually I’m going to be WCW World Champion too. But this was just the first step! This title right here, that’s proof that all of your heroes are just second-rate compared to me. I’m here for one thing only, and that’s gold!”

Christian begins to walk away, but Kidman walks up to him.

Christian: “Speak of someone I outsmarted.”

Kidman: “Outsmarted? That’s a funny way to say you cheated last night. I had you beat last night, and that mean I know I can beat you for that US title any day, any night.”

Christian: “Yeah, you want a title shot, Kidman. Alright. I’ve beaten you before and I can do it again. You can talk all about last night, but at the end of the day I won the battle royal. That’s why I have the US Title now. But I accept, you’re on for next week! And here’s something for you.”

Christian piefaces Kidman. Kidman lunges at Christian and both men get into a fight before backstage agents and security break them up.

Nash and Hall leave with their hands held up, although it looks like they don’t want anything to do with Brock either!

ECW RISE
October 3, 2002
Welsh-Ryan Arena
Evanston, Illinois

Joey Styles:
“Ladies and gentlemen, we have acquired exclusive footage of the backstage area at Fall Brawl. This was taken moments after Eddie Guerrero frog splashed Rob Van Dam, allowing Raven to defeat Van Dam for the ECW World Championship.”

Mick Foley chases down and eventually yells at Eddie Guerrero, who’s walking away from him in the backstage area…

Mick Foley: “Hey! Hey! Guerrero!

Guerrero stops and rolls his eyes as Foley catches up to him.

Mick Foley: “First you walk out on the match tonight, now this?”

Eddie Guerrero: “I told you, esse, I’m a bigger star than that, Mick!

Mick Foley: “And this is how you show it?”

Eddie Guerrero: “I’m the biggest name in ECW! It’s time you treat me like….hey, no….”

Rob Van Dam runs at Eddie and attacks him! RVD and Guerrero brawl all over the locker room before security breaks them up.

Mick Foley: Rob, Eddie, stop. Look, this is what we’re gonna do! Right away, to kick off RISE. It’s the both of you and Raven, ECW World Title on the line! It’s time to settle all of this once and for all!”

Mick Foley stands at ringside as the music of the new ECW World Champion, Raven, plays through the arena. Raven walks up to follow with a look of disgust on his face. That look of disgust turns into a smile though as Raven takes off the ECW World title belt and holds it in Foley’s face. Malice had come out with Raven, but Mick sends him to the back to Raven’s chagrin. Raven sits in the corner and awaits his opponents.

Joey Styles: “Welcome! We’re not wasting any time here. Raven, Eddie Guerrero, Rob Van Dam, the ECW World Championship is on the line!”

RVD is left in the ring, and a frustrated Eddie Guerrero attacks him as well! Guerrero plants RVD with a brainbuster, then comes off the top rope with a Frog Splash. Mick Foley rolls into the ring to stop him, but Guerrero tells him that “this is bullshit, I’m out of here!”

Bam Bam Bigelow:
“Hey. People have been asking me all week now, ‘what the hell, Bam Bam’. Well I’ll tell you what the hell. I wasn’t going out like that man. Look, Luna, we had some great times. But you and Gangrel. You guys ain’t at my level and if this really is my last run, I gotta do something bigger a tag team, you know. I need to remind people one last time why I am the Beast From the East!” Now I’m sure I pissed you two off at Fall Brawl. Well if you wanna fight, I’m ready for a fight. Next week on RISE, I’ll be here. And I’m gonna remind everyone of the monster, of the beast, that is Bam Bam Bigelow!”

::COMMERCIAL BREAK::

Joey Styles:
“Coming up next, Shelton Benjamin takes on one of Raven’s oldest, and yet newest, I guess we’ll go with followers in Perry Saturn. Of course, Benjamin defeated Rey Mysterio Jr. at Fall Brawl to gain a shot at the ECW Television Championship, held by another of Raven’s lackeys, Tajiri.”

Tazz: “You gotta give Tajiri credit though, Joey. No one had him beating Sabu at Fall Brawl. Shelton needs to be careful.”

Joey Styles:
“I see both Raven, who we saw earlier tonight successfully retain the ECW World Championship, and Tajiri are both coming out here with Saturn. Benjamin really needs to watch his back.”

gets no time to celebrate as Tajiri slides into the ring and hits him with the Green Mist! The crowd erupts as Sabu runs down again, chair in hand. He throws the chair in Tajiri’s face, but the numbers game is just too much and they get the better of Sabu.

The crowd roars again though, as Motorhead’s version of “Enter Sandman” fills the arena! The Sandman, Tommy Dreamer, and Spike Dudley are here to even the odds! Sandman, Dreamer, and Spike come from the crowd, Singapore Canes in hand, to chase off Raven’s Warriors! Sabu gets a shot in at Raven. Both Raven and Tajiri accidentally leave their title belts in the ring. Sabu hands the ECW TV title to Benjamin…then raises the ECW World Championship over his head! Let's see how Fall Brawl 2002 went down.

I liked Tony Schiavone re-establish himself as the lead commentator at the announce position. I can imagine he and Don West having some good chemistry.

A good six-man tag team match to kick off the show, with very interesting team combinations. It's funny how in a match with Englishmen and Irishmen that Shane Helms has got to be one of the whitest men alive. I'm sure I need more context for why he teamed with Monty Brown and Elix Skipper. Nonetheless, it worked effectively.

Super Crazy as WCW World Cruiserweight Champion clicks so well, particularly in the year 2002. Him and Chavo Guerrero had some good matches in WWE from what I can remember.

I will say I sense a very true to real life 2002 touch with this show. In terms of how this show was put together with backstage segments, it truly feels like a WWE-esque production.

I can only presume Molly Marvel is the name you're using for Molly Holly. Her and Victoria always had fun matches, so this was a fine decision for the WCW World Women's Championship. Daffney and Victoria must have a fun dynamic, or so I can imagine.

Very WWE idea to have the announce teams shuffle over depending on which brand it is. It just clicks well.

That would have been some wacky size difference between AJ Styles and Bam Bam Bigelow. AJ and Jerry Lynn were two of the best in 2002, so it's good to see them go over Bigelow and Gangrel for the ECW World Tag Team Championship.

Shelton Benjamin gets a big win over Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio Jr. I don't think it would be a bad idea to have him win the ECW World Television Championship when the time arises. I can't really see it given Tajiri just won the title from Sabu, though. I'm not sure how great that match sounded. Maybe Tajiri is a transitional champion?

The Raven and Mick Foley interaction was cute. I liked the ECW World Heavyweight Championship match, if anything for the storyline aspect that followed. It was definitely time for Rob Van Dam to lose the title. I suspect we'll see Raven leading the ECW brand from here on out.

I maybe wouldn't have put the Battle Royal on this card given how long we're going. Christian being next in line for a WCW United States Heavyweight Championship shot sounds fine, I think what was more interesting was the miscommunication seeing Billy Kidman dropkick Torrie Wilson. Trouble in paradise, huh?

The WarGames match was truly superb. It's got to be up there for your best work. It read excellently and I really liked who made the cut to be involved. Brock Lesnar choosing to get involved with the nWo was really amusing to me, and it has to set something up for he and Triple H. The main thing I wasn't so big on was Hulk Hogan using a camel clutch - I don't think I've ever seen him do that, and while the finish protected HHH I don't think it was needed, per se.

Overall, this was a loaded show. While I don't know if every match was necessary on such a stacked line-up for time constraints, I think this did a heap of good in progressing things forward.

I appreciate the review! I wanted to note A camel clutch was the way Hogan won the '95 War Games and I had no other idea what submission to use otherwise for the finish I intended.

WCW Monday Night Nitro
October 7, 2002
United Center
Chicago, IL

Kevin Nash:
“It’s like the old days, huh? Monday Night Nitro. Big time main event. The ‘Hulkster’ one-on-one with “Big Sexy” baby. But this ain’t gonna be no fingerpoke. Tonight, I got a job to do. Hulk Hogan, tonight, you got no chance…BROTHER! We’ve done this dance in the ring, backstage, in the locker room, over title belts but you and I both know I’m in the alpha in this equation. Tonight Hogan, Big Daddy takes cool of you. And then after that, don’t think I forgot about DDP and The Giant. After Big Sexy is done runnin’ wild on Hogan, me and Scott, we’re getting our belts back one way or another. NWO for life, brother.”

Mike Tenay: “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Nitro. We have a massive main event tonight, two of WCW’s titans will slug it out. it’s “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash, and it’s tonight!”

Don West: “I can’t wait Mike!

Mike Tenay: “It’s a big night overall, we have two title matches. Super Crazy defends the World Cruiserweight Championship against the returning Essa Rios! Also, Billy Kidman gets his shot at the United States title against Christian. He was robbed at Fall Brawl, but he gets his opportunity tonight!”

Don West: “It’s gonna be one hell of a night…Mike, Mike…the Giant is coming down here, and he looks angry!”

Mike Tenay:
“We weren’t expecting The Giant…”

The Giant marches his way to the ring, WCW World Tag Team title belt in hand.

The Giant: “I’ve said this before, and I’m going to make this clear now. I’ve had it up to my throat with the politics in this damn company. I returned to WCW after Starrcade. It was my right to choose whatever side I wanted after I won the Immunity Battle Royal at Survivor Series last year. Now I could have walked into WCW and there was nothing Shane McMahon could have done about it. But I don’t operate like that. Three years ago, WCW gave up on me and I went to the WWF. I wanted to come back and be the megastar to carry professional wrestling through the year 2000. I thought Shane McMahon was going to deliver. For week after week, month after month, Pay-Per-View after Pay-Per-View someone else would get the call. And for a while I understood. Kurt Angle, Booker T, I’m not saying they don’t deserve the shot. But I’ll be damned if I go back six years and sit idly by while Hulk Hogan gets a shot before me. No more. No mo….”

“BANG” Diamond Dallas Page, the other half of the WCW World Tag Team Champions makes his way down to the ring.

The Giant: Dallas, don’t talk to me right now. I’m not going away this time. They’re not stopping me this time!”

Diamond Dallas Page: “Bro, I’m with you, man. Man, I’ve talked to Shane. We’ll get our shot. You know it’s coming.”

The Giant: “No! You don’t know Hogan like I do! And Triple H will use every trick to avoid us.”

Diamond Dallas Page: “Are you kidding? Hey, between you and me, I didn’t run to the WWF because I couldn’t deal with Hogan.”

Giant approaches DDP, but DDP doesn’t back down.

Diamond Dallas Page: “Hey. HEY! Listen to me! Look big man. I know we haven’t gotten our shots. But we had a good year man. I’ll always appreciate you coming down when I was in here alone. You got us the tag belts and it’s been a hell of a ride. Kicking Kevin Nash and Scott Hall’s ass, man, it felt like old times. I don’t know about you, but these belts, they mean something to me. Our team, you, me, Stacy, it means something to me. We’ll get Triple H. We’ll get Hogan. We’ll get whoever stands in our way. We’ll get our shot. Let’s get out of here, man.”

The Giant: “…you’re right Dallas.”

DDP and Giant begin to head out of the ring…when religious organ music begins to play. Oddly, Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley appear on stage…but they appear dressed as ordained ministers?

D-Von Dudley: “My brothers and sisters, I am Reverend D-Von, and with me is Brother Bubba. We represent the Archdiocese of Dudleyville! We’ve been saved by Him! His first asking of us, his loyal servants, is to take back the WCW World Tag Team Championship that was wrongly taken, no, STOLEN, from us back in April!”

Brother Bubba: “I HAVE BEEN SAVED! I will do what I have to in order to please HIM! Hear us! See us! Rejoice! The Archdiocese of Dudleyville will soon be the dominant religion of World Championship Wrestling…

Diamond Dallas Page: “Look, stop, stop, please. I don’t know what the hell happened to you two but we don’t have time for this.”

Reverend Dudley: “Do you dare challenge the word of HIM?”

Brother Bubba: “We’ll make this clear, our mission tonight is to take back those WCW World Tag Team belts!”

Diamond Dallas Page: “Ha. Well me and the big guy, we have some frustrations we need to let out. So, let’s do it boys!”

Giant walks away as DDP yells at him to get back on the apron
before Bubba attacks from behind. The Giant looks back for a moment before finishing his walk to the back, eliciting heavy boos from the crowd. Bubba and D-Von double team DDP in the corner, but when they send DDP off the ropes DDP ducks a double clothesline and hits both Dudleys with a flying double clothesline! DDP plants D-Von with a spinebuster but gets attacked from behind by Bubba. Bubba sends him off the ropes, but DDP ducks another clothesline and hits a swinging neckbreaker. D-Von pulls the referee towards him as DDP calls for the Diamond Cutter. DDP sends Bubba off the ropes…but someone unknown jumps into the ring and slams DDP hard with a spinebuster! The man rolls out of the ring as D-Von picks up DDP and whips him off the ropes…and the Dudleys hit the Dudley Death Drop! Bubba makes the cover, 1…2…3!

Winners: The Archdiocese of Dudleyville when Bubba pinned DDP in 10:04 to win the title

“At this time I’m here with one-half of one of the most decorated WCW Tag Teams of all-time. I’m here with Harlem Heat’s Stevie Ray. Stevie Ray, tonight you get a measure of revenge for your brother, Booker T.”

Stevie Ray: “That’s right. That fruity sucka made a big mistake last week attacking not just my tag partner, but my brother. You know there was a time where I would have told Booker to toughen up. Kurt Angle: “Thanks for reminding everyone, Kelly. I thought about coming to Nitro all rageful. All upset. But that would be unbecoming of an American hero, which I am. But here’s the reality. Sometimes you just lose one once in a while. It happens. So Sean O’Haire, you got me last week. Congratulations. What I’m offering is a chance to do it again. You and me in that ring. No tricks, no tag partners, no excuses. You’re supposed one of the bright stars of WCW, one of those guys to take the company into the next millennium. Instead you’re just Triple H, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall’s lackey. You think you’re more? Halloween Havoc, come prove it.”

::COMMERCIAL BREAK::

Diamond Dallas Page and Stacy Keibler spot The Giant in the locker room area.

Diamond Dallas Page: “Hey, HEY YOU BASTARD!”

The Giant: “That’s what you wanna do?”

DDP and Giant come to blows, to the horror of Stacy Keibler. ECW RISE
October 10, 2002
UIC Pavilion
Chicago, Illinois

Raven and his Warriors (Tajiri, Mikey Whipwreck, Crush, Wrath, Saturn, Malice, and Terri) make their way to the ring. Raven walks behind his Warriors, wearing the ECW World Championship.

Raven: “Behold, the inevitable has transpired. The war has been fought and won. Once shrouded in the shadows of obscurity, the Raven once again flies into the light. Once again the Raven possess the ECW World Heavyweight Championship. This title is a testament to the agony, the suffering, the relentless pursuit of what has always been rightfully ours! Those who have doubted, scorned, and underestimated my warriors, your disbelief has led to your downfall. I now once again sit upon my throne, not as a king, but as a harbinger. A harbinger of chaos, a harbinger of pain, a harbinger of a new era in Extreme Championship Wrestling. The nonbelievers can come one by one. Guerrero. Van Dam. I fear none. They will fall, just as those before them, and they will all learn the harsh truth. So it is written, so it will come to pass. Quote the Raven, nevermore!”

To Raven’s surprise, a car crash is heard as Commissioner Mick Foley’s theme plays!

Mick Foley: “I’m going to start off by congratulating you, Raven, on winning the ECW World Championship against Rob Van Dam at Fall Brawl. You told everyone in your strange, weird way, that you’d do it, and then you did. That deserves respect and admiration. But that doesn’t mean I trust you one bit Raven. Let us switch gears for a moment. Tajiri, you won the biggest match of your career at Fall Brawl when you beat Sabu for the ECW Television Championship. But I can’t give you the same respect or admiration because of how you did. You relied on your group, your team, these Warriors. I can tell you Sabu, he’s pissed off. I don’t know about you, but Tajiri, are you slated to face Shelton Benjamin for that TV title. I can guarantee that you, Tajiri, will receive no help, no assistance, in this match. That’s because every one of your Warriors, including you Raven, will be banned from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, at Halloween Havoc!”

Raven, who usually stays calm no matter the situation, expresses some anger in that decision.

Mick Foley: “I’m sure you’re asking yourself Raven. Does that mean the ECW World Championship won’t be defended at Halloween Havoc? I’m here to tell you that it won’t be. That’s because on ECW Rise, Halloween Night. Your nightmare will come true. Over the next three weeks, five men will have a chance to qualify for a match against you for a title shot. The only thing stopping these five men will be your Warriors. The first qualifying match is tonight. Mikey Whipwreck, my old buddy, you’re going to find out just how pissed off Sabu is! If I see any interference from the Warriors in any of these qualifying matches, Raven will be stripped of the ECW World Championship! Tonight, it's Sabu vs. Mikey! Have a nice day!”

Raven stares at Mikey Whipwreck, and Whipwreck looks terrified at having to face Sabu later tonight!

Joey Styles: Tazz, what a big announcement from Commissioner Mick Foley. In three weeks on RISE, Raven’s Nightmare will take place for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship!

Tazz: “But Joey, what does this mean? We know Sabu has a chance to qualify, but what kind of match is this? Who are the other contenders?”

Joey Styles:
“Those are good questions. I’m sure Commissioner Foley will explain the details in due time. Coming up next, Bam Bam Bigelow takes on Gangrel. Bam Bam attacked Gangrel after their loss to AJ Styles and Jerry Lynn at Fall Brawl. We’ll bring this to you after the break!”

::COMMERCIAL BREAK::

Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Gangrel (w/Luna Vachon)

Bigelow misses a clothesline and Gangrel fires away with punches. Gangrel tries for his Implant DDT right away, but Bigelow shoves him into the corner and avalanches him. Now Bigelow pounds away on Gangrel, then tosses him to the outside. Bigelow slams Gangrel into the railing, then picks up a chair. Bigelow throws the chair at Gangrel, catching him on the side as the face. Bigelow takes a second chair, but Luna grabs the chair from behind. Luna threatens Bigelow with the chair while backing away, allowing Gangrel to low blow him. Luna smashes Bigelow over the back with the chair! Gangrel rolls Bigelow into the ring. Gangrel stomps away on Bigelow and Luna tosses him the chair. Gangrel sets it down on the canvas and again goes for the Implant DDT, but Bigelow counters again, then slams Gangrel on the chair with a suplex!

Bigelow beats Gangrel down again, clubbing him with forearm after forearm. Gangrel tries to fight back, but Bigelow catches him in the back of the head with an enzugiri. Bigelow stomps on Gangrel some more before heading up to the top rope and lands a flying headbutt from the top! Bigelow roars at the crowd instead of pinning Gangrel…and Luna jumps off the top rope onto Bigelow’s back! Luna takes Bigelow down to a knee by scratching Bigelow’s eyes, but Bigelow still manages to toss her off his back. Bigelow grabs Luna and plants her with Greetings From Asbury Park!

Joey Styles:
“Oh my God!”

Gangrel smashes Bigelow with the chair again. He checks on Luna, but this allows Bigelow to recover and smash him right in the back with the chair. Bigelow puts the chair in the center of the ring and powerbombs Gangrel on it! Bigelow covers him, 1…2…3.

Winner: Bam Bam Bigelow via pinfall in 6:26

Bigelow
yells at the camera when leaving, yelling “if someone wants to finish off Bam Bam Bigelow, bring them on!”

Officials help Luna Vachon out of the ring. Gangrel helps her as well, visibly distraught.

***

Tazz:
“Man Joey, Bam Bam sure did a number on Luna.”

Joey Styles: “I hope she’s okay hopefully we will get an update later tonight. We’re going to change gears here. Apparently, we are going to hear from Shelton Benjamin. Shelton, can you hear us.”

Shelton Benjamin: “Yeah I hear you.”

Joey Styles: “Seventeen days from now you will face Tajiri for the ECW World Television Championship.”

Shelton Benjamin: “That’s right, that’s right. I’m ready for it. I heard Mick Foley said Raven’s guys or whoever isn’t gonna be in the building but I don’t care who gets involved. I finally got my shot, I’m taking Tajiri down and I’m going to the TV Title. You know I never got these shots before. I was always put second. No more. TV Title is just the first step.”

Joey Styles: “We wish you good luck. You’ve seen the tricks Raven’s group uses though.”

Shelton Benjamin: “Yeah, it don’t matter. Nothin’ is stop…”

Someone enters the room Shelton Benjamin is in, getting Benjamin’s attention.

Joey Styles: Shelton you still with us?”

Shelton Benjamin: “I gotta go.”

::COMMERCIAL BREAK::

Mick Foley:
“Welcome back to ECW RISE. As you all watching at home has seen that the issues between Rob Van Dam and Eddie Guerrero have spiraled out of control. I am working on a contract for Guerrero and RVD to face one another at Halloween Havoc. They’ve been fighting all summer. ECW TV Title. ECW World Title. The details will be finalized by next week. Once again, have a nice day.”

Sabu takes Whipwreck down again then punches away at him. Sabu hits a couple of stomps and sends Whipwreck off the ropes. Clothesline connects. Sabu hip tosses Whipwreck and Whipwreck lands in a sitting position. Sabu springboards off the ropes and hits Whipwreck with a flying leg lariat. Sabu sends Whipwreck to the outside then leaps onto the apron. He goes for a springboard, but Whipwreck pulls him down and Sabu crashes into the apron. Sabu gets to his feet first and rolls Whipwreck back into the ring. Sabu takes the chair and leaps off the top rope with the Arabian Facebuster! Sabu sets up the chair in the middle of the ring and hits the Triple Jump Moonsault! Sabu covers Whipwreck, 1…2…3!

Winner: Sabu via pinfall in 10:03

Raven
and Tajiri march down to the ring…but then Raven points to the ring. Crush, Wrath, and Malice. But before they enter the ring to attack Sabu, “Enter Sandman” plays as The Sandman, Tommy Dreamer, and Spike Dudley emerge from the crowd! In the middle of their entrance, Mick Foley’s theme plays for the second time tonight.

Mick Foley: Raven, before your Warriors get in there and fight, I thought you should know that next week on RISE, you three, Crush, Malice, and Wrath. You three will have the chance to prevent Tommy Dreamer, The Sandman, and Spike Dudley from joining Raven’s Nightmare! Next week, six-man tag, Dreamer, Sandman, Spike against Crush, Malice, and Wrath!”

Raven, Tajirii and the rest of the Warriors stand on the stage, with Sandman, Dreamer, Spike, and Sabu daring them to come fight and that’s how RISE goes off the air!

I've just caught myself up with what's happening in here, and am continuing to enjoy it. Whilst I don't have time to leave some 'proper' feedback right now, I did want to call out that The Archdiocese of Dudleyville is such an awesome way to kind of play off D'Von's reverend gimmick but make it work for a tag team. The inclusion of Batista makes it even more awesome as well. I just really wanted to highlight this gimmick in particular because it's some inspired work from you.

Keep up the fantastic work mate.

I'll echo Stojy - even though it involved DDP losing, I also enjoyed the reintroduction of the Dudleyz and especially the religious gimmick. Will be interesting to see the rise of Batista in this as well. But to be honest, I'm not sad to see DDP and Giant finally officially split. Enjoying the little teases of what one can only assume is the impending debut of a certain rafter dwelling individual.

Over on ECW - Raven continues to be such a delight to see getting pushed. Sabu was definitely winning the match to qualify for the Nightmare and imagine the other three will get in too which should make for an interesting match for Raven.

Enjoying as always!

WCW Monday Night Nitro
October 14, 2002
America West Arena
Phoenix, AZ

Brother Bubba:
“Tonight, my brothers and sisters. I address the WCW congregation today with an important announcement from HIM! We are gathered here today to bear witness to a Dudley divine proclamation! For too long, the sacred realm of tag team wrestling has been plagued by the unworthy and the unrighteous! Me and my brother D-Von stand before you as the holy men to defend the righteous path of tag team supremacy! We have walked through the valley of tables, ladders, and chairs. We have broken the bodies of the sinners and have emerged as the anointed enforces of tag team law! So by the powers invested in me by HIM, I issue a challenge to any tag team in the world tonight. If you think you can stop our crusade to cleanse the world of tag team wrestling you are welcome to stand in the ring with the Dudleys. Come forward if you dare, but be warned! Tables will be broken! Bodies will be shattered. And only the truly worthy will emerge as champions!”

Reverend D-Von: “Any team that accepts the challenge, you will be send to the promised land of punishment at the hands of the Dudleys! As you lie defeated and broken, you will have no choice but to look up to the heavens and proclaim….’OH MY BROTHER, TESTIFYYYYY!”

Mike Tenay: “Ladies and gentlemen, viewers watching at home, welcome to Nitro. Tonight, it’s Hulk Hogan Appreciation Day! We will see Hogan receive an award tonight from Shane McMahon for all his contributions to professional wrestling.”

Don West: “Yeah, but Mike, did you just see that challenge from the Dudleys?!”

Mike Tenay:
“The Archdiocese of Dudleyville? That’s taking place tonight as well. And what a way to kick off Nitro, here comes DDP, Diamond Dallas Page!

DDP comes out to the ring along and grabs a mic.

Diamond Dallas Page: “Alright, alright, look, I’m gonna make this short and sweet. Big man, Giant, I know you’re back there. Last week I know you were pissed and things got heated and we both made some bad decisions. Now you walked out on me, and normally, there’s no turning back from that. But at the same time six months ago you came down and saved my ass too. I’m willing to chalk it all up to one really bad night. You all just heard those freak Dudley Boys issue a challenge, well on behalf of myself and the Giant, I’m accepting that challenge! Big man, let’s go out there, get our belts back, then next week we’ll talk to Shane and get our shot at the big gold. That’s all I got. I’ll be out there tonight. I expect you will be too big man.”

::COMMERCIAL BREAK::

Nitro
goes back on the air as we end up in a weird house full of spiderwebs and red lighting. Victoria appears in front of the camera.

Victoria: “On the night the ghosts and ghouls come out to play, I’m the most fearsome creature of them all! I don’t blame you, Molly Marvel, for trying to extinguish the evil inside me. And you’ll get your chance one more time at Halloween Havoc. The beating I gave you at Fall Brawl wasn’t enough for me. The young girls they love to play with their blonde dolls, but eventually those young women, they play too hard and maybe once in a while rip the doll’s head off in frustration. Molly, you’re just too much fun to play with, and I still haven’t ripped your head off! And Daffney…

The camera pans over to Daffney, who’s sitting on the floor with her legs crossed.

Victoria: “…if you show one more ounce of compassion, one more ounce of empathy, I’ll give you something to scream about! I’ll skin you alive like I did to that wretched cat!”

Victoria taunts Daffney with La Felina’s mask, as Daffney sits and nearly breaks into tears.

Sean O’Haire
grabs a steel chair and blasts Angle! Officials come down right away to stop O’Haire. Angle is busted open as O’Haire devilishly smiles. Angle eventually gets to his feet, bloodied, and he looks angry!

Jeremy Borash:
“It’s a crazy night out here already. Jeremy Borash, I’m back here with the WCW United States Champion, Christian. Christian, I understand you were to face Kidman for the title again as last week’s match ended in a disqualification, but Kidman suffered a broken nose in that match and was not cleared to compete tonight.”

Christian: “Aww…poor Kidman and his nose. As much as I should show some sympathy, I have other things to do tonight. Shame they’ll be no US Title match, but what can you do. Rene and I, we have something else to take care of anyway. As much as I love this US title belt, sometimes, the other shoulder gets lonely…”

To Christian’s surprise, WCW Owner Shane McMahon walks up to him.

Shane McMahon: Christian, Christian! I couldn’t help but overhear that you weren’t planning to defend the US title tonight.”

Christian: “Well Shane, Kidman has a runny nose or something and that was too much for him to deal with…”

Shane McMahon: “Broken…nose, and right that’s true. You won’t be defending the US title against Kidman tonight. But you will be defending the title…and that match is next!”

Shane McMahon walks off…

Christian: “Wait, against who? Shane? Shane!

Diamond Dallas Page: “I’m really not up for the NWO ambush right now, Eric.”

Eric Bischoff: Dallas, you’ve got me all wrong. I’m just here to remind you, if this thing with the Giant doesn’t work out, there’s always a spot open for you with the New World Order. But I want to make it clear, this offer will be open to The Giant too.”

Bischoff walks off with a smug grin on his face as DDP tries not to mind him.

The Giant enters the ring and the Dudleys bail…but Batista attacks him. Giant reverses a whip though and grabs Batista by the throat…and plants him with a chokeslam! Mike Tenay: “I can’t believe The Giant just did that!”

Don West: “I think this Diamond Dallas Page and Giant partnership is over for good, Mike.,”

Mike Tenay:
“We have Hulk Hogan Appreciation Day coming up next, but I understand Paul Heyman is backstage with Jeremy Borash.”

***

Jeremy Borash:
“Once again, Jeremy Borash here and I am with Paul Heyman.

Paul Heyman: “Yes you are and you should be honored to be so. I come with a message, or more specifically, a challenge from Brock Lesnar…HEY, no wait!”

Harlem Heat walk up to the interview set.

Paul Heyman: “I’m just an advocate! Please, please!”

Booker T: “We ain’t here to beat you up, Heyman. Brock got a challenge? We want to hear it loud and clear.”

Paul Heyman: “Oh..go…good. Well, I’d like to say something to you, Booker T. I’ve always been a fan. But I’ve reading all the magazines and internet forums and all of that, frankly, garbage. One thing stuck out that not only ticked me off, but flat out pissed off Brock Lesnar. One article in particular read that ‘Booker T, without a shadow of doubt, represents the future of World Championship Wrestling.’”

Booker T: “And what’s wrong with that?”

Paul Heyman: “The future? Booker T you’ve been in WCW for a decade! You’re the five-time WCW World Champion. Booker T, you aren’t the future, you’re the past! Brock Lesnar is the future of World Championship Wrestling! And he’s going to put you in your rightful place at Halloween Havoc.”

Booker T: “Yeah? Well he didn’t look too strong last week did he?”

Paul Heyman: “Ah yes. Well Booker, one thing I can’t take away from you. You and your brother, you guys are the greatest tag team in WCW, no, all of professional wrestling history! Even the might of Brock Lesnar struggled to take down Harlem Heat. Now, the challenge. Booker T vs. Brock Lesnar is already signed as a main attraction for Halloween Havoc. But next week, how about we see the legendary Harlem Heat against Brock Lesnar and a partner of his choosing.”

Booker T: “We’re down for that. But you tell Brock and whoever he picks, we taking them out, sucka.”

Paul Heyman: “I’ll make sure to let Brock know. And if you want to know Brock’s tag team partner, make sure to watch ECW RISE this week. Until next week, gentlemen.”

Paul Heyman walks off as Nitro cuts to a commercial.

::COMMERCIAL BREAK::

Shane McMahon
makes his way out to the ring with box.

Shane McMahon: “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to a very special night in the history of professional wrestling. Tonight, we celebrate a legend, a global icon and a man who transcended this sport. If you were to talk about the Mount Rushmore of professional wrestling, there’s one face you cannot overlook. He took this industry to heights never before seen. He is a five-time World Wrestling Federation Champion, and a six-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, and well, in my opinion, in 13 days it’ll be seven. Ladies and gentlemen, Hulkamaniacs all across the globe, we celebrate “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan!

Voodoo Childplays as “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan, Brother Bruti, and Jimmy Hart comes down to the ring. Hogan seems genuinely touched by this event, even mouthing to the crowd “Why?”

Shane McMahon: Hulk, in this box is a plaque that represents our appreciation.”

Shane McMahon hands Hogan the plaque.

“Hollywood” Hulk Hogan: “Thank you brother. From the bottom of my heart I thank you and all these Hulkamaniacs! I hope to show you my thanks by winning for you the WCW World Championship from Triple H at Halloween Havoc!”

Jimmy Hart: Hulk, Hulk! I also have something for you. One of your biggest rivals wanted to come down and show his respects.”

“Hollywood” Hulk Hogan: “What, rival? What is this, Jimmy?”

Jimmy Hart: “You gotta trust me, Hulk. Here he is…John Tenta!

John Tenta comes down to the ring, but Hogan looks like he’s caught off-guard. Hogan and Tenta face-off in the ring, but Tenta extends his hand as a sign of respect, and Hogan takes it. Just as the ceremony looks to be wrapping up, The Game” plays as Triple H and Sean O’Haire come out to the stage entrance.

Triple H: “Let’s cut out all the crap right now. Hogan, you better enjoy that plaque because that’s the closest thing to this WCW World Championship that you’re ever going to hold. The way I see it this ceremony wasn’t for appreciation. It was for your impending retirement because that’s what’s going to happen to you in 13 days at Halloween Havoc. And man, look at these guys in the ring. John Tenta? Didn’t I kick his ass back into retirement in the summer? What’s next, the Shockmaster is going to make his way back out here again?”

“Hollywood” Hulk Hogan: “You know what, brother. You can’t ruin this for me. But I’d love to put an exclamation point on the night. How about you two come down here and I’ll give you a preview of Halloween Havoc!

Triple H and Sean O’Haire slowly make their way to the ring when the light noticeably flickers, catching everyone off. HHH and O’Haire continue their approach…and when they slide into the ring the lights go out!

Mike Tenay:
“What’s going on?”

When the lights go on, the Outsiders stand behind Hogan, Briti, and Tenta, and the beatdown is on! HHH and O’Haire beat the hell out of Hogan while the Outsiders take out Briti and Tenta. Hogan tries to Hulk Up and make a comeback, but HHH smashes the Appreciation plaque over his back! Shane McMahon tries to get HHH out of the ring, but Eric Bischoff runs down and drags Shane to the outside. Eric and Shane argue as Kurt Angle, with his head bandaged up, runs down for the save! Angle punches away at Hall and Nash, but O’Haire grabs a steel chair and gets Angle for the second time tonight! With Hogan, Angle, Bruti, and Tenta all laid out, HHH adds one more insult to injury. HHH grabs Jimmy Hart by the hairand plants him with the Pedigree! The New World Order stand tall as Nitro goes off the air!

ECW RISE
October 17, 2002
Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum
Phoenix, Arizona

ECW Commissioner Mick Foley stands in the ring with a microphone.

Mick Foley: “Hell everyone, welcome to ECW RISE here in Phoenix, Arizona! I’m going to ask that Rob Van Dam and Eddie Guerrero come down here so I can explain what we’re going to do at Halloween Havoc to settle the issues between the two of you. So please, Van Dam, Guerrero, come out here now.”

Rob Van Dam makes his way out first to a huge ovation. Eddie Guerrero comes out with his nephew, Chavo. Eddie and RVD come face-to-face in the ring, but Mick Foley comes between them.

Mick Foley: “Come on, back up, back up. Both of you have been at one another’s throats all throughout the summer until now. I understand it. Both of you are among the most talented, high-flying, risk-taking wrestlers in the world. Hell, you may be 1A and 1B. And that naturally brings competition. But things got out of hand at Fall Brawl when you Eddie Guerrero cost Rob Van Dam the ECW World Championship. I get it, this is ECW, anything goes. But this ECW, Mick Foley’s ECW, isn’t about interference. ECW is about the best athletes in the world using everything in their disposal, using every ounce of their creativity, to prove that they are the better man! We need to truly find out who is the better man and we will at Halloween Havoc. It will be Rob Van Dam against Eddie Guerrero in a Ladder Match! Of course, you ask, what’s the carrot? What will be dangling 15 feet above the ring that RVD and Guerrero will need to gain in their possession to win this ladder match? Well I’m going to tell you. Hanging will be a contract giving the winner of the match any ECW match they want. Any stipulation. Any title. Anyone. Anytime!”

Both Guerrero and RVD look intrigued at the stipulation. RVD takes the microphone from Mick Foley.

Rob Van Dam: “Hey. I’m cool with that. If I need to beat Eddie Guerrero one more time to get back the ECW World Championship so be it. I need to kick your ass Eddie for what you did to me anyway. No DQ, Mexican Strap, Ladder, whatever man. RVD 4:20 is gonna do what he does best, and that’s smoke your ass!”

RVD prepares to walk off, but Guerrero makes sure to get his response in.

Eddie Guerrero: “Don’t you walk away from me! You can bring whatever you want at Halloween Havoc, esse! Bring your Van Daminators. Bring your tricks. I don’t care. In the ladder match, you will be facing with the fire, fury and fight of Eddie Guerrero! I’m the biggest star ECW has ever seen, and I’ll be sure to prove it in the middle of the ring when I grab the contract! Bring it on Van Dam. Yeah, you’ve beaten me before, but it never happens again. Viva la raza!”

Eddie and Chavo get ready to leave, but then Chavo does a 180 and attacks RVD! RVD reverses a whip and hits Chavo with a roundhouse kick! RVD comes off the ropes and hits Rolling Thunder! Eddie looks on, disappointed Chavo’s attack didn’t work, while RVD stands in the ring doing his “R-V-D” taunt, with the crowd with him the whole way!

***

Tazz:
“Wow Joey, what a match for Halloween Havoc! Van Dam and Guerrero in a Ladder Match? That’s gonna be a rocketbusta!”

Joey Styles: “The winner basically gets an open contract in any match they want against the ECW World Champion. Raven can’t be happy about that. But how much longer will Raven’s ECW World Championship reign continue? Tonight, the second round of qualifying for Raven’s Nightmare takes place. A rematch from a month ago, The Sandman, Tommy Dreamer, and Spike Dudley take on Raven’s Warriors, Crush, Wrath, and Malice!”

Tazz:
“This is going to be an insane night, Joey!”

Tazz:
Super Crazy, well, he’s crazy, Joey!”

Joey Styles:
“This Saturday on Hardcore TV, Big Sal and Mabel are going to get it on in a Loser Leaves Town match. But also, the ECW World Tag Team Championship will be on the line when AJ Styles and Jerry Lynn defend against Kid Kash and Jamie Noble. But we’ve learned the ECW World Tag Team Championship will be defended at Halloween Havoc as well. Coming up next, Chris Candido and Lance Storm take on X-Factor to determine who will challenge for the belts at Halloween Havoc!”

::COMMERCIAL BREAK::

We come back to RISE and see Raven and Tajiri standing in a dimly lit, decrepit room…

Raven: “Another day, another battle in this great war that is being fought by my Warriors. The Sandman, the caricature of rebellion, has become nothing more than a drunken fool, a sideshow act that’s grown tired and predictable. Your time as a symbol of defiance is at its end. Spike Dudley, the ‘giant killer’. You throw yourself into the fray, hoping to be perceived as an equal among titans. But you are merely a footnote, an afterthought. An unwanted child that bares the name of one of the legendary wrestling families. Your attempts at glory are as pathetic as they are futile. And of course, you Tommy Dreamer. The eternal martyr. Forever seeking the sympathy of the people. How many times will you play the role of the tragic hero, Tommy? How many times will you sacrifice your body and soul before you realize that they don’t care about you? You are a mere pawn in this war that you can never win. In this war, you are relics, out of touch with the reality that I have embraced. The end of this war result in no heroes, no legends…only survivors and victims. And you three, you three are the victims.”

“Don’t think I forgot about you, Sabu. You’ve made it far in your path of destruction, but you’ve failed to realize that this is a path of self-destruction. You may be the ultimate risk-taker, but you’ve become predictable and one-dimensional. While you’re busy setting up the next table you plan to leap through, I’m three steps ahead, playing a game you can’t even comprehend.”

Raven looks over at Tajiri, who picks up a picture of Shelton Benjamin. Tajiri cackles before spitting green mist at the picture.

“Quote the Raven…nevermore.”

***

The camera cuts over to the locker room, with Shelton Benjamin watching the promo from Raven and Tajiri. He gets a knock on the door and yells “come in”. To everyone’s surprise…Paul Heyman walks in!

Paul Heyman: Shelton, I wanted to continue our discussion from last week. Brock and I are so proud of the progress you’ve made since we departed from ECW, and…”

Shelton Benjamin: “Look, Paul, stop, stop. You don’t need to hype me up or apologize or whatever you’re gonna do. I thought about what you asked me last week, and you can tell Brock I’m in.”

Paul Heyman: “You’re in?!”

Shelton Benjamin: “Yeah. I’m doing this because Brock’s my guy man. I’ll see you at Nitro.”

Joey Styles: “Wow. That means this Monday on Nitro, it’s Brock Lesnar and Shelton Benjamin reunited against Harlem Heat!

Tazz
“That’s a big move from Shelton. Is it the smartest though, he’s taking on Tajiri at Halloween Havoc for the ECW World Television Championship, getting tangled with the likes of Stevie Ray and Booker T isn’t what I’d call a warm-up!”
