Vince isn't happy. That's funny.
But why isn't Vince happy? Because Dave can't get over with the fans. And why can't Dave get over with the fans?
Let me make a comparison:
Dave Bautista (Batista)
Born 1/18/1969 in Washington, D.C. (he's 45 years old)
Has a deep voice but not gravelly, rumbling, or anything else remotely interesting
Has shaved his head
Has won 2 WWE Championships and 4 WHC's (for a total of 6 "World Championships"), along with 2 Royal Rumbles (now) and Superstar of the Year in 2007
Does a taunt based on a guy who was a staple of the late 1980's/early 1990's (Ultimate Warrior), although he is being inducted into the HoF this year, then a move that is based off a promo centered on somebody else (the "thumbs down" gesture was given to Randy Orton after he won the title by HHH, which led to Evolution beating down Orton) that took place a decade ago
Returned from Hollywood where he's been playing bit parts in movies most people aren't watching a week before the Rumble and won it
Stephen Farrelly (Sheamus)
Born 1/28/1978 in Dublin, Ireland (he's 36 years old)
Has a boyish Irish brogue (it's not just a kick anymore) that definitely attracts attention
Has a complexion so white it's nearly clear and bright red hair and beard
Has won 2 WWE Championships and 1 WHC (for a total of 3 "World Championships"), along with a Royal Rumble and King of the Ring (2010)
Does taunts that invites audience participation (both the pounding of guys' chests counting to ten and the pounding his own chest while preparing to deliver the Brogue Kick)
Returned from an injury sustained while performing in a wrestling match at the Rumble and was in the final three.
And most people (and I say this as a guy who generally likes Sheamus) don't want to see Sheamus in the main event at Wrestlemania XXX, so why would the audience want to see a 9-year-older, far less interesting version of him (Batista) in it?
