Re: Effective Thinking With EoR: UWF Smackdown, what's to come?

Nice to see another column for UWF. Makes people like to step up to get their egos scratched. Looks like I'm gonna have to step up to show just exactly why I am the World Heavyweight Champion. I like this idea of a dirt sheet/tease of what's to come. Nice to hear Y.E.S is sticking together as I love the pairing of the two.

Re: UWF Monthly Award Nominations: June 2012!

RAW Superstar Of The Month: Cody Rhodes (RIR consistently makes an impact each and every week.)

Smackdown Superstar of The Month: Ted Dibiase ( Prodigy was given an opportunity and more then stepped up to the plate. Ted has been proving why he's such a threat this month.)

Brand of The Month: Smackdown ( I'm a little biased but I do feel we've had a tremendous start.)

Champion of The Month: Stone Cold Steve Austin ( It almost seems like no one can touch Dres sometimes.)

Best Trashtalker Of The Month: RawisRey (His Cody is flawless and Damien has proven to be a huge threat.)

Most Underrated Trashtalker Of The Month: Lubaninho (He doesn't get the props he deserves as his RVD is superb.)

Most Improved Trashtalker Of The Month: Andrew ( I haven't actually seen a lot of Andrews TTing but he has really stepped his game up as Batista.)

Tag Team Of The Month: NWO (I couldn't think of anyone else since everyone else is still new.)

Member Of The Month: Chris Dresdon (World Champion, Dresdon Dose, and Sting. Where does this man find the time!)

Most Helpful Member Of The Month: SBS (If I've got a question, he's who I ask hence most helpful.)

Writer Of The Month: SBS (You've done a great job with Smackdown and not to mention the amazing Starrcade matches.)

Feud/Storyline Of The Month: Daniel Bryan v Dean Ambrose (I don't believe any other feud really got a full head of steam yet.)

OMG! Moment Of The Month: Ted Dibiase wins the World Heavyweight Championship only to lose it seconds later. (Really nothing else shocking except I'm the first two time World Heavyweight Champion lol.)

Match Of The Month: Bryan v Ambrose III (Do we really need another candidate? Simply the greatest match I've ever read even if I would have had nothing to do with it.)

Re: Effective Thinking With EoR: UWF Smackdown, what's to come?

I'm going to be as honest here as I am anywhere else, when I first saw this, not when I first read it, but when I first saw it, my first thought was, "There's no point in doing the Dresden Dose anymore" but I have since changed my way of thinking. There are a few similarities, but for the most part they're entirely different. I'm the RAW and Smackdown Rebound, you're TNA Reaction, if that makes sense. I think this is cool and everyone else does also, so I reckon there's room for two in UWF. I'll have more detailed thoughts in the next Dose.

This is great EoR! And Dres, you should definetely continue Dresden Dose, because along with this "Effective Thinking", I'm gonna enjoy TTing even more.

BTW EoR: I didn'T think you're gonna call me Lubos here haha :p Lub is enough ...

I was gonna spell your name but I forgot how to do it :(!

Yeah, Dresden think of mine as more the Writer prospective, trying to sell the next show, pointing out TTers who we are looking at; not to take it away from others but the whole idea is less reviewly... More previewly.

I like this a lot, bro. Thank you for listing me under Most Deserving Trash Talker and giving me a honorable mention for Favorite Trash Talker. Great column, by the way this needs a official logo, I might need to dust up Photoshop and see what I can cook up. :)

Re: Effective Thinking With EoR: UWF Smackdown, what's to come?

The two columns will work so well of each other, as well as offer their own perspectives on their brand and the company as a whole.I like the Dose cause it's kind of your pod-cast esque rewind to what happened this week with opinions, thoughts, and predictions. I like Effective Thinking because it's like if you went to certain dirt sheet sites where you see rumors and such and previews to upcoming shows from kind of a behind the scenes kind of documentary view. I think both are great additions, and so far both have provided pretty excellent reads.

XXVII: A Super Dose

My fellow Smarks and members of the Ultimate Wrestling Federation, it is that time once again. But you see, this time will be unlike any other time that has preceded it, and none that follow in its footsteps will be identical either. Because this article, is going to be a very special article. This edition is the twenty-seventh edition overall, and the tenth UWF edition, so in celebration I am going to make it especially jam-packed and awesome. That and Smackdown was a short show this week, because of YOU! Well, not all of you, just the ones that didn't show up.

So, what is it that's going to make this edition so jam-packed? I'm glad you asked. I'm going to review the happenings of Smackdown and run down the card for next week's show of course, but I'm also going to bring you the Match of the Week and the Promo of the Week, something that was going to begin with next week's Blue Version but is coming a week early instead! Also coming early will be From The Vault, where I feature one of the matches I've written in the past, and the Testing Ground, where I test Albo2's theory that I can trash talk as anyone. In addition I will give a preview of what's been revealed for the Great American Bash so far, share my thoughts on what's going on with the UWF monthly awards for June so far, and give a bit of time to divulge my opinion on the Blue Version's sister article, Effective Thinking with EoR.

All that and Blastoise has some choice words for "Rowdy" Roddy Piper that he'd like to get off his shell, so you'll certainly want to read this in full. But before we dive right into all of this, let's take a look at some of the things people have said about this article since its inception.

"Nice review dred man"- Chase

"Good work on the review bud."- JKdog

"Dresden Dose is a great name for an article!"- Hitman

"Another good Dresden Dose. Always good to know a storied TT'ers take on ongoing storylines/promo qualities."-Lewb

"Love reading these."-ellis

"Sweet! I always loved these. Great additions to PPVs."-Tapout

"The J.R. of this e-Fed is right here, folks. Brilliant, just brilliant :)"- Blizzard

"Great dose as always bro."-Hoov

"Loved Dresden Dose, glad it's back. Mega props for doing it man."-Andrew

"Great review as usual Drezza."-EoR

"I just can't wait for another edition of Dresden Dose, because this is so much fun to read."-Lubaninho

"keep these coming mate and know i'll always enjoy them."-Albo2

"#Dresdonforpresident"-Captain

"Always a good read"-Prod

"Great read as always Dresden."-MrFetter

"Amazing read"-Chriss

"Dresden Doses are always a fun read, I'm glad you brought it back."-Aniking

"I can quit anytime I'd like. Just...Just gimme a dose."-rawisrey

I do this because I have to stroke my own ego before I stroke anyone else's, it's just the law of the land. Now, without further delay, one of the hardest working men in e-feds. (What?) The UWF Champion. (What?) One half of the Black and White Machine. (What?) And the man that isn't a doctor, but plays one on the internet, presents to you his prescription for all your wrestling needs, The Dresden Dose!

tdd.jpg

As I was deciding which bits of feedback to place in the article and wrote everything that preceded the graphic, I was listening to "Living Things", the new album by Linkin Park. And my thoughts are the same as my thoughts on A Thousand Suns and Minutes to Midnight, although I enjoyed Minutes to Midnight more, there are a few good songs but there are a few I don't much care for so I can't call it a top to bottom thrill like Hybrid Theory and Meteora were.

Now, one more piece of business before I get to Smackdown. Because this is such a special Dresden Dose, Blastoise will not be the featured Pokemon. Instead, for this edition only, I am bringing in someone else. This decision was inspired by Blizzard's suggestion that UWF begin an NXT. My fellow Smarks, please welcome, Pikachu!

pikachu_display.jpg

Pikachu: Hello everyone! It's nice to finally have an edition of the Dose that doesn't smell of pomposity, don't you agree? Blastoise isn't here putting his head on the wrestlers' shoulders, Charizard isn't here reworking the graphic entirely, Venusaur won't be seen again until the Great American Bash, instead it's me, good ol' adorable Pikachu.

EP20301.jpg

Gastly: Not so fast, vermin. You act as though you're the only one that's been mentioned in the comments lately. There's one Ghost type you're foolishly overlooking, one endorsed by the Dresden Dose's number one fan, and for that I will see to it that neither you nor any other makes the same erroneous judgment call again.

Pikachu: Very well, Gastly, but I propose it be done the UWF way and not our traditional way of battling.

Gastly: Dresden?

If that's what Pikachu wants to do on the week he's featured, then go for it.

PIKACHU VS. GASTLY

DING DING!

The camera pans around the arena, and in the crowd the likes of The Dresden Dose's faithful readers can be seen sitting in various locations, ready for the match that's about to unfold. After getting a shot of everyone, the camera pans to the ring, where Justin Roberts is standing by.

07.jpg

Justin Roberts: The following contest is scheduled for one fall, and it is for the Dresden Dose 27 Representation! Introducing first...

"I WANNA BE THE VERY BEST, LIKE NO ONE EVER WAS!"

The fans in the crowd pop big time as the theme song from the original Pokemon theme song begins to play. As they cheer, a teenage boy in a red and blue cap comes out from behind the curtain, his trademark attire on as the crowd comes alive for the one and only Ash Ketchum. He motions for the theme music to stop playing, and it fades out until it quits playing, making the excitement of the crowd much more audible, as "Pikachu!" chants seem to shake the arena. It is seen that the young Ketchum is in possession of a microphone, as he raises it and begins to speak.

char_1146.jpg

Ash Ketchum: Pikachu, I choose you!

The crowd reaction is deafening as Pikachu leaps out from under Ash's hat and lands on the ramp, scurrying to the ring quickly as he leaps and lands inside of it. Pikachu climbs one of the turnbuckles and stands up, waving to the crowd, which increases the intensity and passion of their reaction to him.

Justin Roberts: From Professor Oak's Laboratory, weighing in at 13 pounds. Piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiikachuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!

The "Pikachu!" chants begin again as Ash now stands ringside, his hat having been returned to him, and Pikachu hops down to the mat, standing upright and ready to wrestle. The chants continue until the theme music of Pikachu's opponent begins playing.

The fans look confused as they look around at each other, when suddenly, from behind the curtain, out walks Gengar as he stops on the stage and looks around. Everyone is speechless as it's clear that between the challenge being made and now, Gastly has evolved as far as he can evolve and has become Gengar. Gengar smiles as he looks down the ramp at Pikachu in the ring, then begins to walk towards it. As he passes Ash, he kicks him in the shin, then leaps onto the ring apron and steps through the ropes.

Justin Roberts: And the opponent, from Maiden's Peak. Weighing in at 89 pounds, Gennnnnngarrrrrrrr!

Gengar doesn't pose, he just rubs his hands together in anticipation for the match to begin. His theme music fades out to silence as it's near time.

Charizard: Hello ladies and gentlemen, Charizard from Raw on commentary. Wait, why am I blue?

Blastoise: Because you're in a Smackdown affiliated article.

Charizard: You're going to help me do commentary?

Blastoise: More like you're helping me, I'm the star today, not you.

Charizard: Well I guess you can't do any worse than Piper.

Blastoise: Something we can agree on.

Before the match can begin, Gengar rushes Pikachu and knocks him to the mat. He goes to follow up but the referee reprimands him. Gengar and the ref argue as Machoke and Electabuzz enter the ring.

Blastoise: What are they doing here?

Machoke lifts Pikachu into position for a spike piledriver and steps up onto the turnbuckle with Electabuzz's assistance. Machoke comes off the top, connecting with the move before picking him up and throwing him in Electabuzz's direction. Electabuzz catches Pikachu and delivers a spinebuster, then he and Machoke exit the ring and head to the back. Gengar suddenly changes his tune and quits arguing as the referee signals for the bell to be rung.

DING DING!

527888_133435256794185_1857192494_n.jpg

Gengar grabs Pikachu by the wrist and drags him to the center of the ring, covering him as the referee runs over for the count.

Charizard: This one could be over already!

1!
2!
3...NO! Pikachu kicks out!

Blastoise: But no! The heart of the Pallet Town native is too much to stay down and accept defeat!

Gengar rolls off of him and walks towards the nearest corner, creating some distance between himself and Pikachu, then turned and face him. Pikachu grabs the ropes and starts to pull himself to his feet as Gengar stood in the corner, beginning to stomp the mat and "tune up the band" a la Shawn Michaels. Pikachu gets to a vertical base and turns around as Gengar goes for the Hypnosis Kick but Pikachu sidesteps and leaps up, bringing his legs to his chest before extending them, hitting Gengar in the chest and sending him into the ropes.

Pikachu hits the mat and gets back to his feet, connecting with a spinning back elbow as his opponent came off the ropes. Pikachu gets to his feet again as Gengar kips up, connecting with a left punch as he opens fire on the forehead of his electric adversary with a flurry of strikes, alternating between hands. Pikachu maneuvers like a boxer, holding his arms up beside his head, bending them upward so that as he bobbed and weaved, his lower forearms and elbows absorbed the blows.

Charizard: Very sound defense for someone that seemed to be out of this in the early goings.

Blastoise: Yes, but how long can he keep it up? Gengar is Psychic, after all.

Pikachu catches one of the punches and twists Gengar's arm up and around, and now held it behind him, bending back and having the Ghost type at his mercy. Gengar reaches back and begins punching him in the side and back of the head with his free hand to break things up, but Pikachu only twists harder as Gengar cries out in pain.

Ever the resilient one, Gengar leans forward and then throws his legs up, maneuvering himself over Pikachu's head, sliding down his back and ending up behind him, the arm that was being wrenched now meeting his other hand at Pikachu's adam's apple as he quickly applies a sleeper hold. Pikachu fights quickly and backs into the corner, sandwiching Gengar between him and the turnbuckle, then stepped out of the corner, catching Gengar as he falls forward with a modified bulldog. Pikachu poses for the crowd and they cheer him.

Charizard: Man, they love this guy!

Blastoise: Stop showboating and finish him!

Gengar gets to his feet as Pikachu whips him into the ropes, then ascends the turnbuckle as he takes Gengar with him, placing his opponent's head between his legs and folding the arms at the small of Gengar's back, setting up for the Pika Plunge. As he has Gengar, the purple menace manages to roll loose and once he returns to his feet, he delivers a standing dropkick to the back of Pikachu's head and lower back, sending him face first to the mat. Gengar looks around for a moment before going to the top turnbuckle. Once there, he looks down at Pikachu before going for the flying elbow. Pikachu moves out of the way at the last second and Gengar hits nothing but mat.

Charizard: Ooh, even if he is a ghost, that looked painful!

Gengar stands, holding his elbow as Pikachu leaps up, grabbing the top of his head with both hands, and falls to the mat in a sitting position, slamming Gengar's head to the canvas. Pikachu runs into the ropes and uses the leverage he gets to go for a senton but Gengar puts his knees up and Pikachu goes back first into them, rolling off onto his face before rolling a few more times and laying there, breathing heavily. Gengar kips up again but then falls to one knee, wincing in pain.

Blastoise: I think Gengar's hurt!

The referee goes over to check on Gengar as Pikachu was using the ropes to get to his feet again. As he does, Machoke and Electabuzz come ringside again, each armed with a weapon. Electabuzz knocks Ash down as Machoke hits Pikachu in the back of the head with the steel chair he's holding and Pikachu falls to the mat as they drag him out under the bottom rope with force and let him fall. Pikachu tries to get up but Electabuzz smashes the guitar in his possession over his head and hits him with a spinebuster. Gengar watches this from the ring as he falls to his back, holding his knee and wincing more dramatically. The referee signals for some medics as they come down to the ring.

Charizard: That's it, I'm not standing by for this.

Blastoise: Good call.

Blastoise and Charizard get up from the commentary table and run over to help Pikachu, but before they can get to him, Venusaur leaps out of the crowd, lands, turns, and spears Charizard nearly in half. Blastoise readies a Hydro Cannon but Venusaur turns and blasts him with Solar Beam, knocking him into the ring post as he falls to the ground.

Electabuzz then drags Pikachu across the floor before picking him up and rolling him into the ring. Machoke enters the ring and lifts him up, setting him in the corner. Machoke exited the ring as he and Electabuzz once again return to the back, with Venusaur in tow. Gengar kips up, fine all of a sudden to the referee's bewilderment as he steps forward and delivers the Hypnosis Kick to Pikachu as he staggers out of the corner. Pikachu hits the mat and Gengar covers him, as the referee reluctantly counts.

DING DING!

Justin Roberts: Here is your winner and the Dresden Dose 27 representative, Gengar!

BACK TO THE DOSE

It was spur of the moment, but wasn't that awesome? Not to mention I managed to knock out From the Vault and the Testing Ground. The match used was something I wrote for UCW Smackdown way back when, Shawn Michaels of DX versus Homicide. I replaced Shawn Michaels with Gengar, Homicide with Pikachu, Road Dogg with Machoke, and Billy Gunn with Electabuzz in case you were wondering. I changed a bit of the commentary and added the part where the commentators try to interfere but are stopped by another superstar, I did that solely to include everyone.

On the next edition of the Red Version, I will feature the first official Testing Ground, where I will attempt to trash talk as Lance Storm. And From The Vault will feature a match I wrote for UCW Raw, Scotty 2 Hotty of Too Cool versus King Booker. Now, as The Rock would say, FINALLY...let's get to Smackdown.

Re: XXVII: A Super Dose

OPENING

Smackdown opens up with the usual pyrotechnics and greetings from our commentators for the evening, "Good Ol' JR" Jim Ross and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. Piper reveals that tonight, Smackdown will be missing half of their roster due to a snowstorm. Certainly a creative way to explain it.

Let's see who all we're missing. Rey Mysterio, Derrick Bateman, John Cena, JTG, and Triple H. So two of the tournament matches won't be happening in the manner they were scheduled to, the singles match has an outcome everyone knows without having to read the match, and we have two of the six scheduled promos? A snowstorm, indeed.

BACKSTAGE PROMO

Smackdown heads to the General Manager's office where Jeff Hardy is upset that his tournament match won't be happening due to the weather preventing some of the participants from being there. Dean Ambrose arrives in the office, revealing that he hitchhiked and walked to get there. That's a dedicated World Heavyweight Champion. So since Ambrose and Hardy are there but Cena and Wyatt aren't, Wolfe makes Dean Ambrose vs. Jeff Hardy for later on tonight, non-title of course.

This reminds me of WWE Raw, the week after they did the whole, "vote of no confidence, everyone walks out on Triple H" thing and it was just Triple H, C.M. Punk, Sheamus, and John Cena at the beginning of the show.

IN-RING PROMO

Batista comes out and tells us how much he loves what he does, but claims that every opponent he's been fed doesn't love what they do, which is why they've sunk like the Mariana Trench(good line) and have all lost to him. He announces they aren't welcome in his ring anymore, and in irony that's not a bit lost on me, begins to verbally tear Rey Mysterio down for being a superhero, as well as his fans that adore him and wear masks like him.

Batista reveals he's destined to be the World Heavyweight Champion and puts all of his opponents on notice to keep their hands off of him until the Great American Bash and he'll do the same for them. For the second time in his career, Andrew finds himself as the focal point of Smackdown, except this time has brought more praise. Arguably the biggest threat to the World Heavyweight Championship right now.

TENNESSEE ANIMALS VS. THE LEGION OF DOOM

I'm not a fan of feeding a legendary tag team like the Legion of Doom to the likes of Jeff Jarrett and Batista, even if they've both been extremely impressive lately and this incarnation includes Heidenreich instead of Hawk. I was disappointed to see it was this incarnation and was also disappointed to discover that this was a one-shot appearance done to make up for the no-showing of Mysterio and Bateman, as I was hopeful someone had picked them up. Why won't anyone pick up the Legion of Doom?

It's time for Jeff Jarrett to have a real match anyway. The others were won by his use of outside resources and this week was a squash match. It's hard to get excited about a guy when he's not being given competition. The potential is there but it's not being capitalized upon.

BACKSTAGE PROMO

You can tell Andrew and Captain both cut their promos with the expectation that their opponents would actually be showing up because of the subject matter. Ambrose talks about no other superstar being as dominant as him, and explains that although the higher ups don't want him as champion, he doesn't care. He then goes on to express his frustration regarding being left off of the poster, with usage of a swear word I wish he hadn't resorted to, and goes off on Cody Rhodes, telling him that he and the NWO are lucky they're on Raw and he's on Smackdown. He closes by saying the era of Dean Ambrose is just beginning.
Well, I have to disagree with the higher ups, I enjoy Dean Ambrose as champion. I'm hopeful that he and I both have lengthy reigns as the faces of our respective brands. Not literally though, I'm a heel. :D

COMMERCIAL ONE

Smackdown's first commercial of the night is for a video promo that rawisrey did for Cody Rhodes. He's good at that, you know. I wish I had the ability, I would make one for Austin and Sting. Anyhoo, it's pretty sweet, and is an interesting peek into the mind of Cody Reyhodes, revealing that he feels even his stablemates, Randy Orton and Christian, are jealous of him just like everyone else. Very interesting stuff, I hope it has an impact beyond being featured in a Smackdown commercial and being plugged in my article.

BACKSTAGE PROMO

Back from commercial, Smackdown cuts backstage and I see a sight that brings back fond memories indeed, Raven. That's right folks, Raven has officially made his way to UWF, and he is being portrayed by the protege' of EoR, Macabre. Cool screen name, by the way. This, is an awesome way to debut, I hope this promo made everyone else take notice of you the same way it's made me take notice of you. This is, in my opinion, the best promo on the show so far. Smackdown trembles at the mere thought of your arrival.

TRIPLE H VS. TED DIBIASE

As I said, the outcome of this match is obvious so I'm not even going to get into it. Aniking decided he didn't want to play Triple H, I have no problem with that aside from the fact that I like the Cerebral Assassin and feel he's always been a great addition to e-fedding Friday nights. I hope that you find someone you enjoy playing and return to Smackdown soon. Congratulations to Prodigy on another win, your DiBiase has been impressive lately, even if this particular victory wasn't earned.

BACKSTAGE PROMO

Jarrett storms into Wolfe's office, upset that Batista powerbombed him earlier after their match, outright refusing to tag with him next week. Wolfe informs him that Batista won't be here next week(no reason given), so Jarrett is allowed to pick anyone he wants to be the replacement. Interesting.

IN-RING PROMO

Heyman and Miz are upset that RVD took the European Championship into his possession last week after the match, and demand that he return it or they will have Desmond Wolfe suspend him. Rob comes out, talks about becoming the European Champion, Alfonso backs up his claims, Miz and Heyman refute them, Rob hits Miz with a Van Daminator using the belt then slams the belt down onto him and leaves. This feud picks up more and more steam each week, I like it, and am interesting in seeing whether Got_Swag keeps the European Championship or it changes hands for the second consecutive pay-per-view in a row.

COMMERCIAL TWO

Smackdown's second commercial of the night is for Maria Brink, a woman I still know nothing about.

Y.E.S. VS. THE BLACK AND WHITE MACHINE

Yes this makes my first victory since picking up a character for Smackdown, but that doesn't matter, because though I have three losses to my name(although the one I shouldn't have), I have had awesome trash talking sessions every single week. The trash talking session with Prodigy was great, the trash talking session with Sam was great, and this week's trash talking session alongside EoR against Rey and Hoov was great. I hope the trend continues.

I liked the pre-match promo by Sandow and Bryan, and Joe being laid out backstage only to come in later and help the good guys win the match was sweet. Not a huge fan of Sting swearing though, that's not very Sting to me.

HOUSE SHOW PROMO

Well, he couldn't be here to wrestle but at least he cut a promo. And this promo, like all Bray Wyatt promos, is great. Sam's really into this character, which is a great thing. Second biggest threat to the World Heavyweight Championship. Just think, if Eli Cottonwood hadn't screwed me, I might be in that King of the Mountain match.

JEFF HARDY VS. DEAN AMBROSE

I will give credit where credit is due. Although trash talking was poor, all of the matches tonight were not, except for the squash match but you know my quarrels with that. Thank you guys for making it special despite the shortcoming. Nice impromptu main event.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

The snowstorm ravaged the blue brand this week, but I look forward to bright sun and clear skies next week, and a fully stocked Smackdown. If not, I wouldn't mind pulling double duty, Teddy Long can shove his fine and warning of suspension or termination. :D

AWARDS

It is now time for me to announce the member that cut the best promo this week and the writer that wrote the best match this week. Remember, these awards refer to both Raw and Smackdown. No runners-up, no honorable mentions, no second place, I'm only naming the ones I thought were the best. Unfortunately, although I feel I cut a good promo, I am disqualifying myself from the running for that award.

Allow me to remind you of all the promos this week. Smackdown of course had the segment with Desmond Wolfe, Dean Ambrose, and Jeff Hardy. They also had the Batista promo, Ambrose promo, Raven promo, Jarrett and Wolfe segment, Miz and RVD segment, Bray Wyatt promo, and pre-match Y.E.S. promo. Raw had two Bully Ray promos, two Austin Aries promos, a Flair and Ziggler promo, an MVP promo, a Cody Rhodes and Robert Roode and MVP promo, and a Stone Cold promo.

Smarks and UWF faithful, in my opinion, both awards belong to Tuesday Night Raw this week. Let's start with the promos. Bully Ray made his return to UWF in attitudinal fashion, and will certainly be someone to watch going forward. Austin Aries has made it very clear that he is back with a purpose and isn't going anywhere. Ric Flair and Dolph Ziggler wasted no time displaying their confidence as Dolph issued an open challenge. MVP, though the losing man at Starrcade, came off like a winner with his promo. Stone Cold showed how loose cannon and intolerant he is when he went off on everyone and everything, even putting his hands on Jerry Lawler. And the war of words between Rhodes and Roode continues, now with MVP getting involved.

Each promo was great in its own way, but I told you and myself that I would choose one, and I've made my decision. The first recipient of the Promo of the Week award is the Rhodes, Roode, and MVP promo. Congratulations to Rey, Albo2, and EoR!

And since I said both awards go to Raw this week, it's pretty obvious that the recipient of the Match of the Week award is none other than Cwalker, but for which match? Well, it came down to the two title matches, William Regal versus Wade Barrett for the Hardcore Championship and Cody Rhodes vs. C.M. Punk for the United States Championship. Both matches were chocked full of action, and both matches were very well written, but one was better than the other.
So the match that gets the first Match of the Week award is Cody Rhodes vs. C.M. Punk for the United States Championship! Congratulations to Rey and Dom as well as Cwalker!

MORE AWARDS

Don't get too excited, as I'm not referring to myself handing out more awards. Maybe in the future I'll introduce a few more, but as of this moment and this edition, I am segueing into the fact that it's again time for the UWF monthly awards for June 2012!

Before I get to how everyone's doing in the nominations, let me give a reminder of who won the awards for the month of May, since Cwalker went through the trouble of making a thread to keep up with those records.

Raw Superstar of the Month: Dean Ambrose
Smackdown Superstar of the Month: N/A
Brand of the Month: N/A
Champion of the Month: Dean Ambrose/Antonio Cesaro
Best Trashtalker of the Month: Chris Dresden/Lewbrication
Underrated Trashtalker of the Month: Sam/Captain/Hoov
Most Improved Trashtalker of the Month: Got_Swag
Tag Team of the Month: European Revolution
Member of the Month: Cwalker
Most Helpful of the Month: Cwalker
Writer of the Month: Cwalker
Feud of the Month: Ambrose vs. Bryan
OMG! Moment of the Month: Austin Aries cash-in
Match of the Month: Ambrose vs. Bryan II

Now let's see the nominees so far for this month's awards.

Raw Superstar of the Month: Cody Rhodes(5), Christian(4), Stone Cold(1)
Smackdown Superstar of the Month: Ambrose(4), Sandow(3), DiBiase(2), Bryan(1)
Brand of the Month: Smackdown(7), Raw(1)
Champion of the Month: Stone Cold(7), Cody Rhodes(2), Dean Ambrose(1)
Best Trashtalker of the Month: rawisrey(6), Andrew(1), Cap'n(1), Dres(1), Sam(1)
Underrated Trashtalker of the Month: Lub(4), Blizzard(3), Dres(1), Prod(1), MrFetter(1)
Most Improved Trashtalker of the Month: Andrew(9), Prodigy(1)
Tag Team of the Month: NWO(5), the Black and White Machine(1)
Member of the Month: Dresden(6), SBS(3), EoR(2), Cwalker(1)
Most Helpful of the Month: EoR(4), rawisrey(4), Cwalker(1), SBS(1)
Writer of the Month: SBS(8), Cwalker(2)
Feud of the Month: Bryan/Ambrose(7), Bryan/Wolfe(1), Wolfe/SD(1), Rhodes' 'tude(1)
OMG! Moment of the Month: DiBiase wins title then loses(9), Rhodes joins NWO(1)
Match of the Month: Bryan vs. Ambrose III(9)

The addition of Smackdown with EoR and SBS at the helm has changed the face of these awards dramatically. For example, there is now a Brand of the Month and a Smackdown Superstar of the Month. How are last month's winners holding up this month?

Last month's Raw Superstar, Dean Ambrose, is obviously not in the running but is the current leader for Smackdown Superstar of the Month. Now that Smackdown's in town, it looks to be a shoe-in for Brand of the Month. Last month's co-Champion of the Month, Antonio Cesaro, is gone from UWF so he's obviously not in the running while the other co-Champion, Dean Ambrose, finds himself trailing behind this month.

Last month's co-Best Trashtalker, Lewbrication, finds himself not in the running while I am barely in there with one vote. Sam, Hoov, and Captain aren't up for Underrated Trashtalker this month. Got_Swag is not up for Most Improved. European Revolution is no longer a tag team so they're obviously not up for Tag Team of the Month. Last month's Member of the Month Cwalker is trailing behind this month, and is also trailing for Most Helpful and Writer of the Month with the inclusion of EoR, SBS, and Rey to the writing staff.

Feud of the Month looks like it will be going to Bryan versus Ambrose again. Chriss is not up for OMG! Moment of the Month, and Match of the Month will go to Bryan vs. Ambrose III. So besides Feud and Match, we'll be having entirely new winners of the awards for June!

Let me just say it's absolutely awesome to see my name up there so many times, a big heartfelt thank you to everyone that nominated me and will be voting for me when the threads go up, I appreciate it more than you know. I mean, I'm nominated for SIX awards. Granted I only have a prayer of winning two of them, I still feel honored to be nominated for six. Thank you all again.

Re: XXVII: A Super Dose

PREDICTIONS

Raw Superstar of the Month: Cody Rhodes has been a very vocal part of Raw each week, always contributing a quality promo, plus he's the United States Champion but I think the Raw Superstar of the Month is Christian. He's undefeated, also contributes consistently quality promos, and is the biggest threat to my UWF Championship, and not just because he's challenging for it.

Smackdown Superstar of the Month: Dean Ambrose is the World Heavyweight Champion, and a good one, so I understand why he was nominated. Damien Sandow consistently delivers quality promos and trash talks, so I understand why he was nominated. Daniel Bryan is deserving of a nomination, but the guy that nominated him is the guy that plays him, and I can't help but frown upon that. Meanwhile, DiBiase is proving to be the threat many of us made the mistake of sleeping on. However, I think Batista is the Smackdown Superstar of the Month. Consistently dominant, in fact he may be undefeated, and is a promo and trash talking machine, AND very well may be the next World Heavyweight Champion.

Brand of the Month: I understand why Smackdown's getting nominated so much, because it's fresh, therefore there's a lot of leaning towards it as more exciting. However, I think Raw has had better matches. I'm talking weekly shows, not the pay-per-views. Pay-per-views I consider when I vote for Writer of the Month.

Champion of the Month: Thank you again to everyone who voted for me. Ambrose is a fresh champion and I refuse to vote for myself, so I am going with the United States Champion, Cody Rhodes.

Best Trashtalker of the Month: Going with Aniking for this one, the guy has yet to be beat, you can't argue with that.

Underrated Trashtalker of the Month: Going with a choice no one has selected, Sam. His Bray Wyatt is amazing and his Cesaro was likely headed for the top before Sam dropped him.

Most Improved Trashtalker of the Month: Andrew's improved in a massive way, so I'm going to go with the majority on this one and vote for him as well.

Tag Team of the Month: They just formed, but Y.E.S.

Member of the Month: Once again, thanks for voting for me everyone. I'm going with Cwalker as Member of the Month. He continues to write Raw by himself, and he trusts me to represent his brand by giving my creative freedom with my promos.

Most Helpful of the Month: Cwalker gets this one too. He gives me encouragement on each edition of the Dresden Dose, he gives me the creative freedom I just talked about, he books me well, and like I said he trusts me. All of that contributes to my overall morale and motivates me to trash talk, cut promos, and write these articles. All these things combined makes him the most helpful to me.

Writer of the Month: SBS gets this one because of Starrcade and Heatwave. You're still a beast, C, but Ambrose/Bryan III secures this award for SBS.

Feud of the Month: Bryan versus Ambrose is the only true feud we've had recently, and as awesome as it was, it's time for the next big one.

OMG! Moment of the Month: DiBiase wins the World Heavyweight Championship and then loses it.

Match of the Month: Bryan vs. Ambrose III has already won.

Now I know what you're thinking, this show is already gargantuan, how can I possibly have more to write about? Well, I haven't given my thoughts on Effective Thinking with EoR or previewed next week's Smackdown or what's been revealed for the Great American Bash, that's how! :D

SMACKDOWN JULY 6TH CARD!

MizJTG.png

The Miz v. JTG

In a non-title contest, JTG has the opportunity to make a lasting impression on the Smackdown superstars, management, and fans as he takes on the reigning and soon to be defending European Champion, The Miz! It's the resident gangster versus the resident loudmouth, Got_Swag versus Deuce. Currently there is no thread.

RVDWyatt.png

RVD v. Bray Wyatt

Speaking of the European Championship, the number one contender to the belt will collide with one of the number one contenders to the World Heavyweight Championship! It's the "Angel in The Dirt" versus "Mr. Friday Night", the self-professed prophet versus the "high" flyer, Lubaninho versus Sam! The material that could come from this trash talking session makes me excited. What doesn't excite me is the fact that there's no thread.

RavenMysterio.png

Raven v. Rey Mysterio

Ooh, this'll be a good one! It's a rookie against veteran situation as the promising young trash talker Macabre makes his debut against Chase, the "Human Cancer" takes on the blue brand's superhero. This trash talking session also promises some great material, if the opportunity is capitalized upon. So far though, nothing.

CenaDeebs.png

Ted Dibiase Jr. v. John Cena

These two are part of the King of the Mountain match, but before that happens, they will meet in one-on-one competition. It's another clash of number one contenders, except this time both will be contending for the same belt. Prodigy vs. Blizzard baby, nothing could make it better except...well, a thread.

TagTeamFinals.png

Sting and Joe v. Jarrett and Hardy

And in the maaaiiiiiin event, it will be decided who's going to represent Smackdown at the Great American Bash in the match that will crown the first ever UWF Tag Team Champions. Myself and EoR, who are former tag champions in case you forgot, versus BDC and Lewb! Samoa Joe and the Stinger versus Jeff Jarrett and Batista's replacement, Jeff Hardy! This is the only match with a thread, and the only one that's been trash talked for. It's 1 to 0 in the Black and White Machine's favor, soon to be 2 to 0 once the Stinger shows up. Come on guys, is Smackdown really in for another snowstorm?

We Will Hear From:

Y.E.S. The newly formed tag team will address the UWF Universe.

Dean Ambrose: Never a man of few words, the World Heavyweight Champion will make his voice heard.

Shawn Michaels: Determined to turn his luck around, the Heart Break Kid will likely share his plans for the future.

ANYONE ELSE who wants to send one in is welcome.

Please trash talk for Smackdown guys, and if you have a pay-per-view match, please trash talk for it too. And before you go calling me a hypocrite, I will be trash talking for my Raw match again soon, I will be trash talking for my Smackdown match soon, and I will be trash talking for my pay-per-view match soon. I have a Dresden Dose exclusive that there's something big happening in UWF soon, maybe on Friday nights, maybe on Tuesday nights. Either way, keep your eyes peeled and participate, because this is HUGE.

Speaking of the pay-per-view...

RhodesGBA.png

So far there have only been four matches announced, but here they are:

UWF Championship
Stone Cold(c) vs. Mr. Anderson vs. Christian

-It's my third consecutive pay-per-view in a match with title implications, and my second one as the defending champion, so that combined with the fact that my opponents are Aniking and Killz has me really excited. Once I find the time to trash talk, it's on, that thread's going to blow up and all people will be able to talk about is this match, I guarantee it.

KotM World Heavyweight Championship
Dean Ambrose(c) vs. Ted DiBiase vs. Batista vs. John Cena vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Bray Wyatt

-Captain has been all over the title picture since debuting, and the Bash will mark his first pay-per-view as the defending top tier champion, and in a big way as he'll have five opponents to contend with. Trust me, I had to defend my title in an Extreme Elimination Chamber once upon a time, so I know what you're up against.

Full Metal Mayhem European Championship
The Miz(c) vs. Rob Van Dam

-Lubaninho is on the cusp of a big win. He almost beat Lewb in their Beat the Clock match, almost won the European Championship, and now here he is in a rematch with the volume cranked up. Will the big stage be where he finally has his moment?

Austin Aries vs. Randy Orton

-Another pay-per-view, another grudge match Orton finds himself in. Randy doesn't have a lot of friends around UWF, especially not Austin Aries, a man he cost four weeks of his career. If Aries beats Orton, he could arguably be the next in line for a shot at the UWF Championship, since he's still due a rematch.

FINAL THOUGHTS

This week, EoR debuted a column called, "Effective Thinking with EoR" that was about UWF Smackdown. Although EoR is a good friend of mine, my initial fear was that my thunder was being stolen. My fear was quickly dashed away though, and I realize "Effective Thinking" is not meant to replace the Dose, but compliment it and in turn, be complimented by the Dose. So thank you, EoR, for starting your own column and giving me something else to plug and talk about. Now we're tag team partners in and out of character.

Well guys, thanks for reading Dresden Dose twenty-seven, I know it was massive but I really got in a writing mood. And because I sat here for hours on end, only getting up to use the bathroom, I would appreciate it if everyone liked, everyone repped if they're able, and everyone gave me a comment that either has some length to it, gives me specific feedback on multiple things from the article, or both.

I'll be back next week with the Red Version. Until then, enjoy this massive edition, the doctor is out!

Re: XXVII: A Super Dose

Gengar ftw! Pickachu got screwed, but I'm sure he'll be back.

A massive edition of the Dose. When I saw 27, I was like "It can't be that much", thanks for the elaboration.

Nice to see Raw winning both Promo and Match of the week. With Cody Rhodes on Raw, I think we can win that every week.

As far as some of the nomiations go, with the brand of the month thing, I share the exact same sentiments. Even though I'm a little biased of course :D

Great job Champ!
