Did you hear the crowd boo? Thousands of people thought it was a terrible stoppage. Like I said, not taking anything away from Josh. I just wanted to see at least two or three more punches to show he was out. We've see in it before that Mir has gone down, yet continued fighting. He didn't go belly down, he still had one knee keeping him afloat. The guy is a specialist on the ground, let him have his opportunity. How can a fight fan agree that was a good stoppage? How was that decisive?

I've been waiting for this fight for years and I came out robbed. Would hope they do a rematch, but if they did Barnett-Werdum that would be even better.

The difference tween the Mir/Big Nog fight and this fight... he was rocked but he wasn't finished. he went down but it was clear to see he wasn't out. He was still moving, still defending. Big Nog was trying to get the finish on a moving opponent. When Barnett connected with that knee... he wasn't moving... he was out cold. That's a stoppage.

Shoot I predcited Mir to win. I wanted the fight to continue. But the guy was out... you can't defend that. It doesn't matter that his knee kept him afloat... when both of your arms go limp like that... you are out. That is it. Some will say that was a bad stoppage, definitely he will say that was a bad stoppage, but it was a safe stoppage.

As far as the crowd booing... I mean we can go to so many fights when the crowd would boo a stoppage. I mean we could go way on back to Mir vs. Sylvia for the heavyweight title when it was clear that Mir broke Sylvia's arm and the crowd was booing the stoppage. They showed the replay and the crowd still booed the stoppage. Can't go off the crowd response man.

Mir snapped back really quick but he was out cold. That was enough. Perhaps if it was a different ref then it would have went on like the Kongo/Pat Barry fight. But that ref chose to stop it and I can't say I completely disagree.

Frank Mir felt 'screwed' by 'bad stoppage' - MMA Fighting

So many different correlations, who could forget when he submitted Big Nog and he was rocked? In a big fight, you don't do that. Don't know anyone can say that was a good stoppage.

Referees always say if you fall back they will give you a chance, you fall face first and you are done.

He got thrashed the whole fight and would've been stopped with seconds anyway.

Great event, anti-climatic finish IMO. Never saw a sub finish coming, Bendo had a good gameplan up to that point too.

I can go on and on about the stoppage, but whatever I felt it was a flat out robbery. Another thing was that ref was an absolute nobody and shouldn't be in a co-main event. It looks so bad that a fighter gets up right after and is completely coherent.

Fine the crowd can be wrong, but that's a terrible comparison with the Sylvia-Mir fight. If you break your arm like that, your done. I'll stop arguing though. Like I said, would love to see a rematch but would totally love Barnett-Werdum next. Not sure about Barnett-Browne though.

I only used that as a way to say... can't go with the crowd booing. Crowd isn't always right. That's all. But yeah... Barnett/Mir part 2 could be good... if Mir can get more offense in. But the way Mir has been fighting lately... just... ehhh.

Pretty solid card, last couple of PPVs have been shit, TV shows been fine but the PPVs.....nah.

Liked the South Korean KO on the prelims his name escapes me. Loved Guida getting tko'd, never liked him, and Barnett beating Frank Murrrr......Yes! Had no problem with the stoppage, ref was being cautious for Murr, didn't want to get in major shit like the guy reffing Carwin/Murr who let ol' Frank get fucked up more than he should've. Barnett was kicking his ass pretty much the entire time, can't say anyone got robbed, dude needs to stop clinching with wrestlers, just a bad gameplan on his part.

As for Bendo...Dayum, did not see that coming at all. Thought Bendo was going to beat Pettis. Just a crazy finish, Bendo was looking unstoppable at 155 and he got armbarred by Showtime, wonder who gets Pettis next? Not like Bendo gets an instant rematch, he is 0-2 on the new champ. I don't really see a clearcut contender at 155 Maybe someone jumps up a weightclass Edgar? Aldo?

If anyone is to jump up to challenge Pettis... I'd def hope it would be Aldo. Tired of Edgar in lightweight title fights. Plus we were gonna have Pettis/Aldo at one point.

I know he's not popular and I'm not sure if people are taking him seriously as a title contender, but I would have no problem seeing T.J Grant get a title shot. He was supposed to get one. Honestly would love to see that fight, even though it's obvious the big fight is with Aldo.

Still think there a lot of deserving fighters at featherweights who should fight Aldo. Swanson, Mendes, and Lamas have all looked really impressive. Edgar will somehow get in that equation too. Will see, I'm going to be at the UFC event on Super Bowl weekend in Jersey. Also probably going to be working media that event and I'll be sitting cage side. If they do Pettis vs Aldo, holy shit I'll be going crazy.

the only ones out of those that should get a shot is either Swanson or Lamas. Mendes had his chance already... Knocked out at the end of the first round. Edgar had his shot... lost via dec.

Swanson lost to Aldo in eight seconds. It was in WEC, but MMA fans will remember that. The issue with Lamas is that he's still relatively unknown, while Mendes has been on a tear since Team Alpha Male added Ludwig as his coach.

Mendes KO'd Guida, for that the man deserves anything he wants.

Pettis - Aldo has to happen though, and as we saw with all the talk of the Jones - Anderson - GSP superfights if you hold off on it too long you can lose the opportunity. Best to strike while the iron is hot. The fight was going to happen, Pettis wants it, Aldo's been talking trash, book it!

Great point. If anything do Lamas-Mendes for number one contender & Thomson-Grant for number one contender. Then after the super fight, everything can go back to normal.

Just give a title shot to TJ Grant, have most of the same card with LW contender bouts and go from there. Also stepping up will just make BW look feeble as they don't have a viable star outside of Frankie Edgar.
