Twitter has been going crazy with a lot of people discussing apparent rumors that the much anticipated UFC 151 main event bout between Jon Jones and Dan Henderson is off. No one has actually stepped in and went on the record to confirm these rumors, but here's how it all started:

Kenny Florian: "Hearing that we may have some disappointed @ufc fans soon due to some unfortunate circumstances for an upcoming card."

Jeremy Botter: "If what I'm hearing is correct, UFC 151 may be in desperate need of a main event. And that sucks."

People started doing some digging, and rumors started flying that it was Dan Henderson who was injured and was pulled off the card. After tons of speculation Henderson then decided to go on twitter to try dispel these rumors:

Dan Henderson: "Just got done with a great training session with the boys. @CyrilleDiabate @tarecfighter @heathlsims @RFBJJ @rockholdMMA"

Dan Henderson: "Headed to the house to get worked on by @msmariahv to finish of the day happy."

I don't know. Situation is confusing right now. Would absolutely suck if this fight doesn't go ahead.

Uh oh.

Either Dan Henderson is really hurt, or Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White is making an appearance to remind all mixed martial arts (MMA) fans not to listen to the "dummies" on the Internet.

What else could it be?

"Hendo" is expected to challenge Jon Jones for the light heavyweight title at the UFC 151: "Jones vs. Henderson" pay-per-view (PPV) event on Sept. 1, 2012 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Realistically, there isn't another bout on the "Sin City" fight card that would warrant a "special announcement."

The timing is also anything but coincidental, as the Internet nearly broke last night with rumors of an injury to Henderson, who tried to keep the bloodhounds at bay with a pair of cryptic tweets.

We'll be able to separate fact from fiction soon enough.

Keep it locked in to MMAmania.com as we'll bring you the live announcement as it breaks later today (Aug. 23, 2012) at 2 p.m. ET.

Fingers crossed.

UGH

Wonder if Machida would take his shot on such short notice.

There's a special press confernece to announce it a bit later to address everything..

This is terrible. Unless they can get Machida or something to replace Hendo, but it's mot easy taking a fight with such short notice. Especially a title fight against Jon Jones.

Hendo is out, they've cancelled the event.

CHAEL SONNEN was offered the fight, they had everything all set for the fight to happen last night, and JONES said he wouldnt fight Chael.

Jon Jones vs.Machida is now the main event of UFC 152.

Dana is ripping Jones and Greg Jackson for not taking the Chael fight.

Calling the Jackson camp a sport Killer, and questioning if Jones is really that good. He even compared him to Tito back in the day when he was a douechbag.

Here's a few of the things that Dana had to say about Jones, HE'S PISSED.

‎"Me and Lorenzo are both disgusted." Dana on how this cancelation will affect his relationship with Jon Jones. He is baffled at the LHW Champ's unwillingness to take the fight with a middleweight when he's regarded by many as one of the best fighters to ever enter the cage.

even when me and Tito disliked each other he still took fights'

If Jones tries to turn down the Machida fight, we'll have another media call this afternoon and it's not going to be pretty

Jones is the first champion to turn down a fight with us, Chael is a fighter he said he would take the fight tonight. He actually wants to fight, he's the kind of guy who built this fucking sport. He doesn't go around and say he wont fight anybody, at the drop of a fucking dime he'll take a fight.

This is the most selfish disgusting decision I've ever seen

Greg Jackson is a fucking moron, he has no place in this sport at all.

Shitty situation. Sucks that Jones turned down Sonnen, but I can understand why he did.

Well i guess i understand it, but at the same time Chael would have been coming into this fight without a camp and no real prep for this fight. And Chael could easily sell this fight in a week, so money wouldn't have been a real issue.

True. It's dangerous to underestimate Sonnen though. Jones would have gone into the fight prepared for a different style. Jones still would have had enough to beat Sonnen, but really, he's not in a position where he needs to put himself on the line like that. Sonnen would have gone into it with nothing to lose, so he's always going to say yes.

Like I said, the situation is horrible.

Can't ever get into MMA much, but I always make sure to watch when Sonnen is involved, dude sells fights like no one else. The way I look at it, Jones was training for A fight, wasn't for Sonnen, but it was still a title fight. If he's as good as he says he is, and everyone makes him out to be, he should have no problem taking on a guy like Sonnen on an 8 day notice, especially since Sonnen wasn't even expecting a fight.

This is pretty much how i feel also.

The only good thing about this is, it adds a lot to a now potential big money fight between Chael-Jones later on in the year(If Jones defeats Machida). Chael is going to run with this for the next 6-12 months.

And even if he gets his ass kicked again, he'll still sell the fight like crazy and will probably be the only reason I watch. Gotta' be careful, with this stuff now, he could end up turning face against Jones.

Papa Dana strikes again! Seriously, why does he let his fighters walk all over him like that? I mean, he's supposed to be their boss!

"Look, you damn chicken-shit! You, Sonnen, title, period!" Is what he should have tweeted.
