based on the OP's list, I figured it was meant to be your favorite 5 Disney family movies, which would certainly include the likes of Mary Poppins and other live action films, just so happens my favorites are all animated...... I suppose the title of the thread could've been more specific but even you should admit that when 95% of the world here's the words "Disney Movies" they automatically assume animated or at least family oriented...

Oh, and Popeye??? seriously??

Popeye was one of my favorite movies growing up, I will admit its pure nostalgia that it made the list.

Also, since Disney owns Miramax, Kevin Smith movies could technically be listed too.

So then Old Yeller & Mary Poppins are on par with Coolrunnings now?

Well I liked Coolrunnings a hell of alot more than Mary Poppins, give me John Candy over the slapsticky Dick Van Dyke anyday.

Disney is just more known for their cartoons and I doubt anyone will use sub genres of the big corporation like a Miramax or even say Star Wars now, as Disney movies.

Jus saying.

Could have swore Wizard of Oz was an MGM film(which Disney does not own)

And as much as I too like John Candy, he alone cannot save a movie, and Coolrunnings did not have anything else going for it really. I also agree about Mary Poppins, not my kind of movie at all, but I understand how it is viewed as one of the all time great films of its era.

About the Miramax/Lucasfims acquisitions, technically, because the films are rightfully owned by Disney, regardless of if they were produced by Disney, they are properties of the Disney corporation.

I don't understand why we have to get into such technicalities while listing our favorite Disney movies.

1. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
2. Dumbo
3. Toy Story
4. Alice in Wonderland (animated version)
5. Jungle Book

Does Wizard of Oz count as Disney? If so then that might have to be my number one.

How would wizard of oz be disney?

1-2 Mighty Ducks 2,3
The rest are Pirates of the Carribean.

Cool Runnings probably knocks off one of the pirates movies cause it was FUCKING AWESOME

Because I thought it might have been produced by Disney, but clearly not by your response.

Cool Runnings? Yeah fun film when I was kid, but comes off kind of racist now.

That's the best part about 80s movies especially on reviewing.

I guess I could see how you could think it was disney it's basically their prototype
