The Tony Hawk franchise will ride again this June. The iconic skateboarder revealed recently via Twitter that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD will be released on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network in June. Previously, the game was expected to arrive sometime this summer.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD gets gnarly this June.
In development at Robomodo (Tony Hawk Ride, Tony Hawk Shred), Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD will be the first Tony Hawk title distributed exclusively through digital channels. It will contain levels from the first two Tony Hawk titles, retouched and running on a new game engine. The title will also feature some, but not all, of the songs from the original games.

Confirmed characters for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD thus far include familiar favorites like Hawk, Rodney Mullen, Andrew Reynolds, and Eric Koston, as well as newcomers like Chris Cole, Nyjah Huston, and Hawk's son, Riley Hawk. A firm price for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD has not been announced, but it is expected to sell for "around $15."

I get wood every time I see a video of this game. If ever there was an old school game that'd benefit from online high scores and vs., this is it.

Confirmed levels so far are the Warehouse, the Mall, Phoenix, New York, Hangar, School, School 2, Marseilles, Downhill and Venice Beach. Basically, all the good shit.

My only fears are the fact that it's being done by Robomondo and not Neversoft (although they're using essentially the same engine so it'll be difficult to fuck up), and having to adapt to the Xbox controller layout. I played the originals on PS1 and consider the layout for the game to be the most perfect ever, so the change is going to be harder on me than you probably think.

So anyone else really hyped about this?

YES! The newer more experimental games have really sucked, Pro Skater ruled though, this should be loads of fun to get back into!

Edit: Holy fuck! Tony Hawk looks so old now!

I remember spending countless hours on the first two; so since this is a best of the first two, count me in. I will definitely be getting this. I may even retire The Show to play this game non stop when I am not working.

The second one stole hours of my life from me. Yet I'm quite happy to let this one do the same.

I really enjoyed Underground 1 and all the customisable stuff, it was Underground 2 sponsored by Jackass that the series jumped the shark for me.

I agree. Bringing Bam Margera and the rest of the crew to the game was kinda bullshit. I guess it was fun to an extent but it just overall felt....meh.

HAVE YOU EVEN PLAYED TONY HAWK'S PRO SKATER 1 AND 2?!?! SCREW YOU, BUDDY!

They're great and all but I have really great memories playing Underground 2 with my friends and cousins back when they would visit.

Understandable. Pro Skater 1 is a personal favorite of mine for the same reason as you. Good memories from back in the day. B.O.B. from Outkast is my favorite song from them because of that game

I haven't played a Tony Hawk game since Tony Hawk 3.
