TNA sent out the following press release on Wednesday announcing details on this year's Bound For Glory series, which kicks off this Thursday on Impact:

THE BOUND FOR GLORY SERIES: A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO TNA'S ANNUAL POINT-BASED COMPETITION

Twelve IMPACT WRESTLING Superstars battle in grueling series of matches with the ultimate prize on the line - a World Championship Match in the main event at October's "Bound For Glory" Pay-Per-View spectacular, our biggest event of the year! The wrestler with the most points at the end of the Bound For Glory Series wins and advances to the Bound For Glory main event!

The 12 Competitors
Find out who will be in the 2012 Bound For Glory Series during the Gauntlet match at 8pm on Spike TV!

How to Get Points

Disqualification Lose – you LOSE 10 points

The Type of Matches

Standings and How to Win!
The standings will be updated on ImpactWrestling.com. The standings will be "locked" on the September 6 edition of IMPACT WRESTLING on SpikeTV. The top point leaders advance to No Surrender PPV (9/9) for a one-night playoff to see who gets the Bound For Glory World Title Match!

-Mr. Anderson
-Robbie E
-Magnus
-Kurt Angle
-A.J. Styles
-Rob Van Dam
-D'Angelo Dinero

I'm cool with this idea, enjoyed it last year too especially when Jerry Lynn was getting RVD minus 10 points every week :lmao

James Storm to win this I would imagine.

Joe in the tournament last year was hilarious, I swear he loss every match he was in :lmao. But on a serious not i'm not a fan of this for this year mainly because i feel it's pretty obvious Storm is gonna win and face Roode @ BFG but i feel the whole Roode/Storm feud is above a tournament win.

Who was it won last year, Roode? Kinda funny really because I swear most guys predicted Crimson would win it because of his streak. What a shambles that turned out to be.

Pretty much, it's hard to not bet on a guy who's doing a undefeated streak gimmick and is in a tournament to face the world champion

Wasn't a fan of this last year and don'e se why they brought it back having a normal rivalry between storm and roode would be fine.

Mabey Storm will go undefeated or something to help build up but don't see the point of the tournement

^^What's not to see? I honestly like the Bound for Glory series, and I can't much stand anything TNA does nowadays. It adds a bit of excitement and gives guys the allusion of making it to the top rather than just being tossed around. This way, Robert Roode or whomever is champion, can feud with whoever until Bound for Glory and this gives the other 12 competitors a chance to shine up until. I personally think it's one of the better ideas TNA has come up with over the last while.

They had tons of solid matches on TV last year because of this tournament so I was pretty happy to see it announced again this year. It was pretty much the top talent facing each other each and every week. Also they implemented storylines into the system pretty damn well making it seem more important in the process. It sure looks like Storm is gonna be the obvious winner, though.

James Storm may look like the obvious winner this year, but you just never know. Robert Roode was right at the bottom last year for most of the series and then pulled his way to the top, I honestly don't think it's that clear as to who's going to win.

It's already been announced who's in it, some good names.

And I predicted Roode to win it from the start last year since I thought Crimson winning was too predictable. I'm thinking Storm winning is very predictable now, but that NEEDS to happen. It has to be Storm vs Roode at BFG with Storm winning the title, I don't care if it's that predictable, that's what needs to happen and what I want to happen.

I updated the first post to include a list of the 12 entrants in this years Bound For Glory series. Robbie E and Pope D'Angelo Dinero are definitely the odd ones out. Robbie E can't even win back the TV title and the Pope hasn't been seen on television for a long time. James Storm should win it and I want Magnus to be right up there as well.

Roode was the obvious pick last year. They just wanted to go with the Cinderella stroy, having him go from the bottom to victory.

Storm seems like the obvious pick to win this, and I think he's the right one to win it. As a D'Angelo Dinero fan, I would mark if he even finished in the top three though. Magnus should be near the top too, he's really impressed me with his run with Samoa Joe.

I wish that Pope was actually used. This will at least give him tv time but I doubt that he will be in line for a push considering how TNA has used him in the past year. He will probably be in the bottom three.

Although I'd really like Hardy/Styles/Daniels to win. I just see Storm winning it. Although, seems like a long time, and why would he want to earn a shot at the guy he hates? I'd just attack him.
