The Simpsons/Family Guy Crossover Episode

Airing in fall 2014 on Fox, “The Simpsons Guy” episode of Family Guy will see the New England family travel to Springfield, where they’ll encounter The Simpsons stars Homer (Dan Castellaneta), Bart (Nancy Cartwright), Marge (Julie Kavner) and Lisa (Yeardley Smith). Hank Azaria also will lend his voice to the episode

According to Fox, the Family Guy characters will quickly bond with their Simpsons counterparts. Peter (Seth MacFarlane) and Homer will debate whether Pawtucket or Duff is the best beer, Stewie (MacFarlane) will be quite taken with Bart’s prankster ways, Lisa will take Meg (Mila Kunis) under her wing to find something the young Griffin is good at, and Lois (Alex Borstein) and Marge will ditch housework together.

This would have been huge if they did it when the shows were in their peaks, well at least when Family Guy was at it's peak since The Simpsons peak was years before Family Guy started. Nice attempt to boost ratings for both shows to have this crossover and to be honest I would have thought that it would have happened sooner. Will watch it for the novelty factor.

Would have been better if the Griffins stopped at Bob's Burgers, as that is Fox's best show on the sunday lineup.

I also think the write-up forgot about Chris & Maggie, as Chris & Bart would probably get along better, and knowing how Stewie gets around the girls, him & Maggie would make for a good interaction.

I've only seen enough of The Simpsons to know the characters and realize how hilarious it is (or was at this point), but I love Family Guy, even the last few seasons which have been considerably worse, so I think this is going to be pretty funny, but it would have been so much better if they did it years ago.

OI don't want Simpsons cut away gags, they are used for satire and witty dialogue disguised in idioms. Not exactly the Family Guy type of humour, seems like a last ditch effort to gain some viewership back to both fledgling shows. Mainly Family Guy, because of it's lazy writing and reliance on the cut away gag which in most instances are not funny.

And Bob's Burgers suck ass. I thought that shit animation died with Dr. Katz, plus the fact that it isn't funny I've already seen it done on Married with Children.

I still watch Simpsons, still puignant and has better story structure than one note joke FAmily Guy. If that show dind't rely on cut away gags, it would be shit.

It's interesting enough to check out but I doubt it will be any good. It'll just be "all the jokes we've done vs. all the jokes you've done".

I'd like to see how the two families compare side-by-side in terms of animation, though. Family Guy animation has always been jerky and robotic but movements in The Simpsons are always very fluid. If they don't actually compensate for that and keep it for novelty there will be a lot of Uncanny Valley weirdness.

I agree, bobs burgers sucks. I can't even have it on as background noise. Family guy has gotten a little worse over the years. I still think American Dad is high under rated. It's episodes had stories that had a good amount of comedy mixed in. Seth's best show for sure.

I was never a fan of the Simpsons. I like it, don't get me wrong, but I won't go out of my way to watch it. I'll maybe watch an episode or two a month. Still pretty excited to see how this turns out.

Cant believe the hate for Bob's Burgers, it offers more laughs around the people I usually watch it with than any of the other shows on the Fox line-up, and I even know people who rush home after sunday dinner just to watch it. I do like American Dad, but just not as much as Bob's Burgers. Simpsons, Cleveland and Family Guy have all been really lame the last few years, well Cleveland has been the whole time

I actually like Bob's Burgers. Its funnier than quite a bit out there.
