I just don’t see like, why not try? I mean folks say it won’t work? Well put it to the test. If they are so sure of themselves, what’s wrong with stopping the sell of them for 5 years? It would be exactly like the last one, anyone who has one already can keep them. So no one has to give them up. We’ll still have them but if we go from say 10 a year to 4, would that not be a win?

Because we see the second amendment as an inalienable right. It would be like let’s try giving up free speech.

If you’re only talking about selling them you have a slightly stronger chance, but I can’t see a single politician risking their reelection on even that distinction.

If you're not talking about banning all forms of firearms, it doesn't seem like an attack on the second amendment to me personally. We already have some forms of firearms banned so umless you think they should all be legal, then you're already in favor of "gun control", we just disagree on where the line is drawn. But as usually "democrats want to repeal the second amendment entirely" is the narrative...sigh....circles (not about you smark, just America in general)

Well that’s just sad. They don’t wanna risk their re-election if it means saving lives. They care more about themselves than others.

I think the point is more that they're "doing the will of the people" bc the people won't elect someone that isn't for keeping all the guns.....so once again America and its people suck as I keep coming back to lol

One of the most hilarious examples of that was a few years ago when a very anti-LGBT congressmen was caught....being gay and his defense was "even though i didn't agree with the things I was voting towards, I was supposed to vote with the will of my constituents in mind, not my own beliefs" which...is technically 100% right amazing damage control for that scandal
