Dead wrong. A ton of Americans and Europeans have joined the app. I've been talking to a lot of Chinese people on there. It's fascinating learning about their country directly from the source. They are pretty open about the policies of their government, good and bad. Tbh, the US government is worse in many ways, better in some others. Many things said about China are blatantly false though.

In China it's a fairly niche app mostly used by middle class people, i.e tech workers. They're very well educated and are critical of their government in ways that would surprise you. The idea that the Chinese government would want to boost this app is pretty laughable if you've actually used it and talked to people on there.

Interesting anecdote

As a non American who neighbours them and a country that's been heavily invested in by China (both in tech but esp in real estate) I'm mixed. They opened illegal police stations and have infiltrated n corrupted our federal politicians. But so has the US, they have been psy opsing the right since before the pandemic and former prime Minister harper is part of an international right wing think tank. We're about to get saddled w our own populist demagogue n they want to privatize n sell us off to the US. We even have a traitor running Alberta who's sucking trumps orange dick.

So I ask myself. Should canada align with others? Do Chinese ppl have things in common with me? Are the US really the good guys? Is China yhst evil ( yes on some, no on others like green initiatives).

China government might be bad. But Chinese ppl are ppl just like us. We shouldn't just ignore them either.

I've watched the video of the speech and I cried. It was so beautiful. She wasn't hateful, she wasn't being vile, she was being a genuine, honest and faithful bishop who believes in the good of humanity. I hope there's more people like her that calls out Trump's and Vance's bullshit, so they can rattle their cages like she did. We need more people like her and less people like Trump.
