Tbf the history of circumcision in the US is fucking weird. I'm circumcised because my dad was, and because his dad was. That's quite honestly how it is in the US, it's just so common that nobody even thinks about it twice despite all the reasons not to get one.

At least historically the reason that circumcision was a thing in Biblical times was for health and sanitary reasons in an age before quality healthcare.
