Most demo got around 44% of the votes in Texas, I imagine the other Bible belt states are more red than us now but I never look at those results lol I guess they aren't as important proportionally bc less seats too tho

I guess 44% doesn't really matter either since they still lost I'll say lol I just imagine your Mississippis and what not were way more landslides for most races

That’s what I’m saying. Both had these huge issues that caused absolutely no real change. That’s why I said it looks bad for both.
oh then yeah, I agree. Both should and could have made much bigger grounds. I feel the Dems could have campaigned even harder and with more fervor. Repubs just did some spectacular self implosions. Maybe itll be a waking call for both for the better. probably not tho :heston

And to top it off the system is texas is def stacked against the dems every which way. with even slighlty less gerrymandering youd probably be seeing a much closer 50/50 split in my super uneducated opinion.

I assume people outside the state, including me, forget about the supremely cosmopolitan areas of the state and just how actually Dem they are.

only when districts are factored in, I'm going by popular vote percentages here and it's about 44%. So if they have way less than 44% representation in the federal and state congress then you can say gerrymandering (I don't know myself)

Even in red states the largest cities tend to vote blue.

Just looking at the district maps of the voting generally speaking most states are very blue where the largest cities and a bunch of red where the big cities aren’t.

Yeah I think I saw even Alabama had some blue cities where people had been moving there from other states the last few years

Any particular reason you think?

Conservatives just hear it’s a red friendly city?

44% doesn't seem THAT bad either, another decade of cities getting more ppl will swing that further to the left as well. so there is hope.

more so the people moving to texas mostly hit austin and Houston has just always been bluer I think. Dallas itself is blue but the suburbs are typical upper class conservatives from what I can tell
