I think you're also underplaying that most people in America are Americans first and foremost and will always have a loyalty to their country. When 9/11 happened, the entire nation stood together in unity. Though our divide is political, it is not so divided that a majority of people will want to see the United States of America destroyed.

You also have to have moderate Democrats step up to more extreme GOP wherever they step up because conservatives won’t vote for extreme blue over extreme red.

I’m honestly surprised that even before this platform, Texas Democrats haven’t found more middle of the road candidates because Texas will never turn deep blue.
