Chris said:
This is ultimately good, megacorps need to be unionized for the workers so they can argue for better work conditions and reasonable pay. Almost now more than ever, worker unions are a mixed bag, but they're a necessity for the rights of the worker and need to act as a counterbalance to any huge company from throwing their weight around and burying their workers in unacceptable conditions. Cue everyone calling me a Commie for being pro-worker's rights. :p

Some fun excerpts:

244) Voting Rights: We support equal suffrage for all United States citizens of voting age. We oppose any identification of citizens by race, origin, creed, sexuality, or lifestyle choices, and oppose use of any such identification for purposes of creating voting districts. We urge that the Voting Rights Act of 1965, codified and updated in 1973, be repealed and not reauthorized.

and some nice awful shit:

“Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the Republican party, and they're sure trying to do so, it's going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. I know, I've tried to deal with them.”

- Barry Goldwater (R), -- your own people called it

What a wonderful state.

What a fucking joke, saying that homosexuality's a "abnormal" lifestyle choice. Love you Gods and your guns, but yet you don't love the LGBTQ community, making a bullshit claim like that.

Anyone running on homophobia in 2022 is an idiot. We’ll see how that works out.

Also, Texas isn’t going anywhere. The civil war and the Supreme Court made sure of it.

expect this to spread to more states as the go to platform too. Not to be captain negative here but its always where the blue print starts. maybe one day moderate republicans will stop making excuses but I doubt it.

If these Evangelical Christians really wanna have a say in the government, maybe their churches should lose the tax exemptions. :draper2

but yeah it already has literally worked out. they are in power, and they will continue to erode at democracy and push hate and fear. There's zero sign of slowing down or any accountability. I have zero faith left in your democracy.

It's funny that an entire state is damned over the words of a select few.

The Log Cabin Republicans and other gay GOP groups are already blasting Texas. I don’t see that spreading. Most red states are smart enough, even if they personally detest gay people, to see it’s unwise to lose a voting block that only recently opened up.

Yeah I was just talking to a friend about this, if Texas does decide to try and secede, the rest of the United States, Republican or Democrat, will see it as treason and a betrayal of not only the Constitution of the United States, but an act of rebellion by the state government; not to mention a direct betrayal of the words of James Madison, who in his letters and dispatches wrote, and I quote:

James Madison - Letter to Alexander Hamilton (July 1788) said:
The Constitution requires an adoption in toto, and for ever. It has been so adopted by the other States. An adoption for a limited time would be as defective as an adoption of some of the articles only.

This idea of reserving right to withdraw was started at [Richmond, Virginia] & considered as a conditional ratification which was itself considered as worse than a rejection:

It's already spread to other states. its all lip service to ''blast'' them, they aint doing shit to change things and are all too happy to take their votes and money. until you actually oust this people from the party, you're voting for this shit. only19 % of republicans can even admit something went wrong on jan 6th, your in the minority, the vast majority of the republican could not give a shit or agree with this. I think you need to accept that reality. but thats all ill say on the subject with you as I dont really want for this to come off as a personal attack. From anyone on the outside, you all look guilty by association and you do nothing about it.
