Singh is a smart guy. Good play. Even the Liberals can try to spin it to get support from them to show "Hey, we are willing to work alongside others for the betterment of Canadians"

And yeah, the CPC is too busy pretending to be constitutional experts, bickering between each other about whether to go farther right into Looneyville or to move back to a reasonable center, and just being ineffective than being a good opposition.

And an aside, my Uncle shared a Facebook post from Andrew Sheer complaining about Gas prices by photoshopping "Don't vote liberal" to a news piece about ways to save money for Gas. I replied:

"Or MAYBE, the higher gas prices are a result of the market and the fact one of the largest producers of oil in the world is engaged in war with their neighbours doing human rights violations by the hour and the entire world is like "HEY, DON'T DO THAT!" and now they are being sanctioned to shit!"

Like fucking hell, so many people are going "Oh, it is Biden's fault," or Trudeau. Like there is a TINY argument to be made here since we have a Carbon tax, but it doesn't result in that extreme of a spike which is resulting in countless other countries without one.

The only thing you can point to for "blame" on certain politicians is to try to press them for a clear plan to address it. Like maybe some provincial governments can call a temporary reducing or stop to Carbon Tax for a period of a few months while the market tries to settle (I say provincial since the Provinces have control over how it is implemented, but the Federal government can step in due to POGG, Peace, Order, and Good government, as well as the Emergency Doctrine of a pressing and substantial matter). Or maybe they can work on implementing some improvements to it from the Federal side like more incentives to make a switch to cleaner energy more affordable, etc.


But like fuck, this is out of most government's control.

100% agree. Press your government or party on how they will deal with this, how will they create jobs , give me a 4 year plan etc. Going around saying "liberal inflation " is just so childish and is just trying to dumb down an issue that certain did not happen solely due to the government of the day abd ignoring a 2 year global pandemic abd recession. It's just so irresponsible and divisive, which is ironic since the cons here constantly complain the liberals are divisive. Weird stuff

I saw that earlier, it's really weird bc clearly he's against Roe v Wade but he says "if I'm against that then I have to believe the Supreme Court shouldn't weigh in on these decisions too" which is consistent with a States rights opinion....and really just comes across as an argument why States shouldn't have full autonomy on some decisions lol he's making the other side's arguments for them

My personal opinion is race discrimination laws should be federally protected, but virtually everything else a state decision. As was the intention when the Constitution was created.

That being said, what’s law is law and Roe should not be overturned in 2022. The GOP need to realize that’s our losing fight like gun rights is the left’s.

I think most of the actual politicians do but they know rn they can still get a lot of votes just talking about it regardless if anything can ever be done, same with a lot of dems and gun control too so thats a really good comparison. Those are the two issues that I feel politicians just dangle in front of the masses to fight over knowing nothing major will change
