I wound up going fishing at the last minute yesterday so I missed pretty much everything. Looks like Ross just kinda....did what he's been known to do lol

I missed the last part of the cup race and didn't bother trying to watch it. I guess that MTJ ran out of gas before the finish? That really sucks. Wish that the strategy there at the end for him worked out. Would have been cool to say that that both S-V-G and M-T-J won during the weekend. MTJ really had a crazy race because he got spun out early on and then late in the race was leading. lol

Even crazier is he managed to get the car across the finish line, barely, like his car creeped across the line, but he finished!

Interesting factoid that I have NOT verified. Apparently, if we were under the old Winston cup standings, Chase would be leading….by more than 100 points over Hamlin.

Regarding the ongoing charter negotiations: Multiple team owners told The Associated Press that NASCAR’s most recent proposal — delivered almost two weeks ago — was one of the worst offers yet from the stock car series sanctioning body.Among the complaints: The France family, which owns NASCAR as a private company, still won’t budge on making the charters permanent, the series made rollbacks from previous offers and the proposal now includes a provision that would allow the France family/NASCAR to purchase charters, which are at the heart of series’ business model.

Man, hope they can get something figured out, because this seems to be getting really messy. Would hate to see some sort of boycott or something like that

You and me both. I think NASCAR will ultimately have to bend to the owners. Sponsorship drives everything in NASCAR, and the sponsors have contracts with the teams.

So, Iowa this weekend. Not sure that we'll see a ton of good racing with the way they've repaved parts of the corners, but I'm an absolute sucker for tracks being on the Cup schedule for the first time.

Yeh. I saw talks he could end up at JGR with Bass Pro Shops. I wonder if they change the 19 to the 18, to bring back the teams most iconic number

I hope they do. In part, because I'm a sucker for nostalgia. Also, I think Martin deserves to have that number put away for a few years.
