Tough game but Phillies pitching tonight stymied us big time, and we just couldn’t get anything going.

I'm so pissed that I had knee surgery last week. Had my knee allowed I was gonna try and find some tix on stubhub today (figure the Rainout would have made some tix not as ridiculously expensive).

The Phils have jumped on the Padres early. 3-0 current in the Top of the 2nd.

The Padres are down but they've put up two solo home runs by Drury and Bell after being down 4-0. Six runs total were scored in the 2nd inning.

Ah shit! The Padres lead the Phillies 8-5 in the 8th inning.

The Padres beat the Phillies 8-5, to tie the NLCS 1-1!

Meanwhile, in Game 1 of the ALCS, the Yankees and Astros are tied 1-1.

Verlander keeps getting into, and out of trouble.

Taillon keeps getting into, and out of trouble.

Harrison (Master) Bader with his 4th bomb of the postseason. Unfathomable how good that trade has been for the Yankees, considering he didn't even play until a week before the season ended.

Taillon got the first 1-2-3 of the game. His pitch count is better than Verlanders after 3.

If the Yankees can steal one of these 2 games in Houston they could be in a good spot with Cole/Cortes/Severino still to pitch.

Bad news: Verlander has found himself.

Good news, he's at 83 pitches with 1 out in the 5th.

Verlander found it in the 3rd, then got the next 11 batters out.

Yuli had a buzzer in his shirt on 0-2 (bad pitch) and now it is 2-1 Asstr*s.

Clarke Schmidt doesn't have it. They banned on trash cans for some McCormick guy and it is 3-1.

let’s be realistic.

Yankees bullpen is notorious for being garbage. Nothing has changed.

Each time our starter is taken out, I cringe. It’s just mostly trash.

Schmidt had no business lasting as long as he did. Taillon should have been able to stay in a bit longer. Earlier they take out the starter, quicker the big downfall begins. 3 homers to the guys after him….

I hope to be wrong but Astros just better than the Yankees.

The Asstr*s are better than the Yankees, everyone knows this. The hope is if they steal one of the games in Houston (difficult since that's where they can cheat) you can get the 3 in New York (where they can't cheat).

There was no reason to pull Taillon when they did. I'd rather let my starter give up the hits than a bullpen guy, especially a bottom of the barrel guy like Schmidt. In all honesty I was impressed by Taillon tonight he hung in there with Verlander. Yankees let Verlander off the hook by not scoring when they had the guys on base in the 3rd before he got rolling.

They stayed away from their big 3.5 (Holmes/Wandy/Loaisiga with Trivino as the .5)out of the pen. After the heavy usage in the Cleveland series not surprised.

Series isn't over, but the Yankees need game 2. Severino is going so hopefully he can dominate.
