Alabama’s Trey Amos has entered the transfer portal. He was projected to start at CB.

This is getting kinda ridiculous. We’re losing some key players for next year.

It's frustrating to see these guys go in the portal instead of having the faith and patience in what DeBoer and his coaching staff brings to the table. They don't want to buy into what he wants to do because they've been cottled under Saban. Times have changed.

Alabama safety Caleb Downs has entered the transfer portal. He was the SEC freshman of the year in 2023.

There’s no way to spin this as positive. Downs was expected to be one of the best players in cfb and the leader of our defense for the next 2 seasons. Our secondary is now extremely thin and we’ll likely be playing multiple freshmen.

This pisses me off because I have high expectations and hoped that he stayed. But yeah, he's gone. Good riddance.

Our secondary has lost 9 of our top 10 players from last season. 4/5 starters and all 5 2nd string players.

The only player left is 5th year senior Malachi Moore (who started for our 2020 championship team and split time with Brian Branch the next couple of seasons), but it’s not guaranteed he stays either.

I seriously do doubt that he'll stay.

Like I said before, they're NOT giving DeBoer a chance at all. Loyalty don't mean shit when there's dollar signs in each of their eyes. The transfer portal's gone fucking haywire.

To be fair to them, a lot of them committed to Bama with the exception to be playing for Saban. I get it sucks and I’d be upset also. But you gotta think of it from their perspective. They probably never play for Bama to start with, if not for Saban.

Yeah whenever coaches leave and an entirely new staff comes in they will lose a lot of players. New coaching scheme and new people with whom you have no prior relationship with.

Can't blame some of them for leaving. And yes some are probably able to get more money elsewhere but it is also a more stable position.

The problem is the transfer portal is now closed for every school except the ones that lost a coach (Alabama, Washington, Arizona, etc.)

So for this year it’s either poach starters from Washington/Arizona or play with 3rd stringers and true freshmen.
