Man, yet again another disappointing end to an awesome Orioles season. After last year, I honestly thought this was going to be the team to beat, especially when we had that hot start. Then all the injuries to the rotation happened. Then the brutal schedule in the middle of the summer where there was like 35 games in between a day off because MLB doesnt know how to schedule worth a damn. Then the offense got cold.
Mini rant: I haven't seen an Orioles WS in my lifetime (yet) due to being born 2 years after our last (the last O's WS was in '83). The closest I've came to seeing them get the job done were the 96/97 "wire to wire" seasons, the 2014 team and the 2023 team. I've lived through the rebuilds, the trades of superstars, hell the Diamondbacks are my NL team and I've already seen them go to the World Series twice. Out of all the teams I support, outside of the Ravens, the Orioles are the only ones that give me hope to finally seeing championships come back to this city. If sports depression was actually a thing, it's hit for at least the night.
