The Miz Get's a Negative Reaction

Adding onto the post above me by Stopspot, it's about time that you guys give it a break. This is why the WWE doesn't listen to the fans as if it was up to you guys you'd have the whole roster of CM Punk's because you're just ridiculous marks. If you forgot the WWE stands for World Wrestling Entertainment which means it's a show for you to enjoy. The Miz got Maryse as his woman, you guys wouldn't have half the ability to pull someone even half decent as her. He's established himself into a main-eventer, he's got the ability to use the mic, the ability to make the crowd interested and he's certainly got the ability to wrestle.

I remember on the build up-to WrestleMania 27 people where loving him and cheered for him. It's now that the same people are deciding to rip him with anything they can find. I totally understand WWE for not listening to you guys, better that, I actually support their actions by not listening to you guys.

The fact that people need to throw out excuses like "he's annoying" and "he's ugly" speaks to me about how they don't have anything solid to complain about with the Miz and thus have to search for childish excuses to hate because "hating the guy from reality TV is cool". He's honest to god neither annoying unless he wants to or ugly in my honest opinion. If people were hating on the Miz's character I would understand but people seem to legit hate on Mike Mizanin for making it in a business, going from average Joe to world star in front of people's eyes and thus causing a jealous reaction. I see no reasons in hating on the Miz. In fact I commend him. He is one of the biggest success stories in wrestling outside of kayfabe.

This is not directed at you. I am just fed up with people shitting on a hardworking guy who's earned his due respect and I see a lot of myself in ( I see a lot of myself in Miz's personal backstory of being bullied and such) and thus I felt like speaking up. Miz is what I want to achieve and become, a success.

I don't get this at all. What has Miz done that means I should respect him more than other people? If I was in WWE of course I'd work my ass off to get better, I imagine pretty much everybody in the company does. As for not having a legitimate reason to dislike him - I do - he sucks at pretty much everything apart from his mic work, which is distinctly average and grossly overrated by many.

Whilst I agree, JR himself has said there are many wrestlers who turn up, watch the show backstage, collect their pay cheque and leave quite happily doing that. He said there are not enough wrestlers that work as hard or are as tough as they were in past eras.

If you look at the roster, it's quite hard to disagree with that. How many do you see barging into Vince's office demanding to be used? Miz I don't think would do that either, but he makes up for it by using his great promo skills in constant media appearances. I think he says he averages 3-4 hours of sleep.

In what ways does he suck? You throw out accusations but do not provide facts?

Yes. Miz will never be a CM Punk or Daniel Bryan. But that is not his role to play. Miz character is a brawler and he does that well. His match with Dolph on Main event was really good as was his recent match with Heath Slater on Smackdown. Neither man needed to carry Miz in those matches. He's also extremely charismatic, otherwise he wouldn't be as over as he is. If you don't have charisma in some form, either verbal or in your ring work you won't get a crowd reaction and Miz gets some of the best reactions out of the people on the main roster. He also wouldn't be used for all the media work that he does, reportedly only Cena does more than him when it comes to media interviews.

You have a right to dislike someone I won't deny you your free speech. But to me a lot of the Miz hate seems completely unfounded. your seeming accusation that Miz got Maryse through the money he makes seems awfully vain as well.

Out of pure interest: Why do you need someone to hate/beat up upon? Can you not just watch wrestling and enjoy it?

Loving and hating wrestlers is part of what makes watching wrestling enjoyable. I need people to root for and against. I do appreciate the talent the guys have, and what they have to go through. I can't, however, just praise everyone who gets to the ME scene or wins a championship. I personally am not impressed with the Miz's in ring work, or his mic skills. I don't hate him on a personal level. I just can't stand his character. Since he is on my TV so often he's the guy I pick on. I wouldn't go to him on the street and say, hey Miz you're a piece of shit. I might do that at a show though. It's like a movie, isn't it more enjoyable when the "bad guy" is really hateable and you want the good guy to get him? Miz is that bad guy, no matter how WWE wants me to react to him. The stuff I post about him is all in good fun on my part. If it somehow offended you as his fan, I'm sorry, but considering I don't flame anyone else here, or in wrestling, it shouldn't be too difficult to live with.I also seem to always dislike guys when they're loved. tunga:

I liked him at first, in part because I had watched him on The Real World. I've said this a lot of times in a lot more words, so I'll keep it short and simple. He was entertaining, but hasn't changed anything up in the last two years and is stale/dull now. Simple as that. His ring work isn't good enough (not terrible, but far from memorable) to make up for a boring character.

He was entertaining, but hasn't changed anything up in the last two years and is stale/dull now. Simple as that. Yeah as most people know I used to be a huge Miz mark, but I mute my stream when he comes on now. I do the same with Barrett matches (not his promos, he's still dope at those). The face turn was way too sudden and no change to Miz's annoying character has happened. Regardless of my opinion of Miz on-screen, I do have tons of respect from him off of it.
