So I mentioned this earlier in the Raw thread but I honestly feel it needs its own discussion. If you've watched Raw from last night or read the results, you'll know that Dolph Ziggler defeated The Miz for the Intercontinental Title just one day after losing it to...yep, The Miz. Maybe I'm old school, but I fail to see how this benefits Dolph, The Miz or, most importantly, the title itself. Maybe I'm missing something, but hotshotting belts back and forth has never seemed like a logical way to treat the titles. From the reactions of some people in the Raw LD last night, I guess they're ok with it, which then begs the question of why? Is it simply because you like Wrestler A better than Wrestler B? If that's the case, then you should also know that them losing and winning with such frequency doesn't really make them look all that good in the long run. It would be a lot more logical if one guy (I really don't give a fuck who) simply held the title for 6-8 months before dropping it.

So, what are everyone's thoughts on this shoddy treatment of the IC belt? Is it worth questioning or has the title fallen so far down the ladder that you just shrug and move on?

Oh yeah in my ideal WWE I would unify the IC and US titles and have one title. It just doesn't make any sense to have two anymore. I don't even remember the last time we've seen a meaningful feud involving either title. It seems when WWE doesn't know what to do with them their logical idea is to put it on Sheamus, The Miz, or Ziggler.

There was a point where I would question and become angry at the treatment of champions and their respective championships. But, now it has been going on so long that I hardly pay it any mind. Was I pissed Dolph lost Sunday? Damn right. Was I bewildered that he won it back last night? Of course, because I do not see the point behind it all. Honestly, I don't believe there is any justification behind having a man lose at a pay per view and win back the championship he lost the next night, it's ridiculous. Not only does it make him look unstable when it comes to defending his championship, but it makes the title lose prestige since it gets tossed around like a hot potato. At this point and time, WWE has done this so many times that it becomes almost commonplace. The United States and IC championships have both become jokes compared to their past shine. They're either passed around too much, defended too little, or put on guys for the sake of saying that they won a championship.

The last good IC title run was by Cody Rhodes

and even then he lost it to Big Show and won it back again.
When Big Show stepped through a table on the outside of the ring in a Tables match no less.

Exactly, so Cody won it back by "accident" and not even with genuine skill that we know he has.

I'm glad at the fact that wwe realized that giving it back to miz was a bad idea but having him win it for 24 hours just for the fuck of it is moronic. I'm trying my hardest to give a shit about the IC Title because of its prestige but if this keeps up I won't be able to. now HOPEFULLY wwe gives ziggler a nice long title run.

oh who am I kidding. Miz will win it back at hell in a cell

I really dont know what to say. The IC and the US titles both look like trash as of lately. WWE is gonna have to step up to the plate big time to make them matter again.

I feel that right now this is the most interesting thing they have done with the IC Title.

Having it change back that quickly makes no sense whatsoever to me though. I would have had Miz retain at Summerslam and then lose at NOC, not lose at Summerslam and win it back at NOC.

I am quite enjoying the whole stunt double thing though, Sandow is making it work very well. I think they need to do something extra with that soon like have Sandow go for the title.

For anyone that hasn't seen it yet, this segment from Main Event last night truly highlights how wonderfully awesome Mizdow is....

Oh yeah, and that Ambrose guy is pretty awesome too.

Anyhow, yeah, I really hate the direction they've taken the title in. I really just don't give a crap anymore, and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one.

I'm not against the title changing back and forth often because it keeps me interested, much like with the divas title. It doesn't benefit the wrestlers or the belt itself, which is a problem, but it benefits the product. You have to catch every title match because it's been proven that now more than ever you never know what could happen. People were in a state where they knew a wrestler wouldn't lose the title in his first defence but now that's gone.

yeah tbh I don't mind them trading the title back and forth because it shows how evenly they are matched and tbh at least they are focusing a storyline around the IC Title unlike the US Title which while being on a main evener seems to have no storyline associated with it at all...
