Match: AR Fox vs Rich Swann from Evolve 8, Styles Battle.
Promotion: Evolve
Rating: 2.5
Comment: First of all, I can't believe it. A match where AR Fox isn't a blueberry trying to kill himself. Fox is a good spot monkey but lately that has gone into overdrive, he's doing so many dangerous bumps that he has taken the joy out of watching his matches for me. Not to mention him having the personality of cardboard. This was a short 8 minute match to start the show and it was obvious this match needed more time. A lot of mat work here which was crisp and solid mixed in with what both these guys do best, flips and shit. This match would have needed more time though so I cannot give it higher than 2.5 (also in part because FUCK AR FOX).

The ending stretch was pretty insane and Ricochet's finisher is damn better than PAC/Adrian Neville's (come at me Rhod). I give this a 4 due to the drop in tempo.

Rhod's count: 14
Match: Submission or Knock Out Only Match
Sami Callihan vs. Drake Younger
Promotion: PWG
Rating: 4/5
Comment: While I prefer technical matches over brutal matches, I have no rational justification as to why, but I loved this. Drake sold really well his bad leg. But I just wanted two guys that would beat the hell out of each other. And thats what I got

Match: DDT4 2013 Finals for the PWG World Tag Titles: The Young Bucks (c) vs. Kevin Steen & El Generico
Promotion: PWG
Rating: 4.2/5
Comment: Last match of El Generico. He delievered. Match of the night of course. From the beginning, the Bucks tried to win the match with a Superkick fest. However, Steen and Generico didnt let it happened. Loved how The bucks dominated most of the match while Generico suffered all kind of punishment. The ending was okay. Generico goes for the Brainbuster but matt counters. Great stuff with the refs as well. Marked for that superkick. The aftermatch was awesome. He got a huge ovation. And well...we deserved the truth. As he said, he had to go back to Mexico to take care of his orphans. Future wwe champ.

Match: Ethan Page vs Josh Alexander
Promotion: Max Pro
Rating: 3
Comment: This match was just an okay match. Both these guys are pretty green still when this match was done and both have evolved since then. The match itself is a pretty grounded match, don't expect flips out of either of these guys. Both work a strike based mat style which is fun to see. But this match was nothing special, but not bad either. The finishing stretch was well set up and Alexander brought the tempo down the right way with a nice sleeper hold spot. Both these guys are people to look out for. As I said, both have grown since this match in 2011 and are now set to break out on the indy scene. These two will be stars on the scene in a year or two. Ethan Page is great at playing a egomaniac character and Alexander is an improved and fun version of Michael Elgin.

Match: Mat Fitchett vs ACH
Promotion: AAW
Event: Durty Deeds
Rating: 4/5
Comment: This was a great fast paced contest with some great spots including Finchett running on the rampway and going over the the ring ropes(ramp and ring same level) and doing a hurricanrana. Both guys pulled out some amazing moves and this was only a 10 minute match.

Rodrigo is a PWG fan now :yay:

That shit is gold. You have superfun matches with the bucks, brutal matches with Steen and other guys. That black guy who can fly. Cole is freaking awesome and my fave type, mat and submission matches, fast trasitions, counters and shit. Thats why Oreilly is my favourite indy guy

Match: GHC Tag team Championship - KENTA & Naomichi Marufuji vs Mitsuharu Misawa & Yoshinari Ogawa (c)
Promotion: Noah
Rating: 5/5
Comment: This is a great underdog match with the young pretenders in KENTA and Marufuji trying to cause a big upset. The bell rings and from the off they want to end the match as quickly as possible by attacking Misawa and performing a double superkick on him. After the frenzied start it slows down for a bit with Misawa and Ogawa showing their experience and the begin to take control.

The way the story was told was perfect in the match and you are really rooting for KENTA and Marufuji and they got the crowd behind them which always makes a match better. Some great believable near falls and great teamwork from both teams. Really worth checking out.

Match: Chris Dickinson vs Uhaa Nation
Promotion: Beyond Wrestling
Rating: 3
Comment: This was an okay if a bit short (just around 11 minutes) match. It was my first time seeing Dickinson but I am no stranger to Nation. Both these guys are big men with a lot of power, and this was the premise of the match. Dickinson had apparently been the "strongest man" or similar in Beyond, running over the smaller guys with brute force, until he met Uhaa That is. This was a competition to see who was the most powerful. Lots of power moves and punches to try and overpower the other wrestler. coulda been longer, coulda been more physical, but a good match non the less.

Match: Jaka vs Biff Busick
Promotion: Beyond Wrestling
Rating: 2
Comment: The match itself was fine, both Busick and Jaka being solid workers (Busick especially, he will be one of those guys that steps up to fill the void of the stars leaving/who have left). But the crowd really killed this match. The crowd did very little to nothing during this match.

Match: Kevin Steen vs Claudio Castagnoli
Promotion: C*4 Wrestling
Rating: 3.6
Comment: Decent showing by both men, they did very well with in-ring psychology e.g. Kevin Steen's leg injury, considering they were performing in a a lower level indy fed. Despite an awkward crowd, they were both still able to play off of it nicely, showing good charisma and improvisation.

Match: Pac vs Jushin Liger
Promotion: NJPW
Rating: 4
Comment: What I loved about PAC in this match was how he was able to execute strikes excellently, on top of his phenomenal agile high-flying display. When you a match with a significant amount of fast paced or high flying spots, I tend to prefer it when the performers equally share the spots performed, I don't know why I like it but I just do. The spots were dominated by PAC sadly, but I suppose the amazing quality of them makes up for it. Liger was really good at making PAC's manoeuvres look as lethal as possible
