President-elect Donald Trump is expected to announce in the coming days that Stephen Miller, his top immigration adviser, will serve as White House deputy chief of staff for policy, two sources familiar with the plans told CNN.

Miller, who served as a senior adviser to Trump during his first administration and has been a leading advocate for more restrictive immigration policy, is expected to take on an expanded role in the president-elect’s second term.

Miller is also a lead architect of Trump’s plans for mass deportation of undocumented immigrants. He has said that a second Trump administration would seek a tenfold increase in the number of deportations to more than one million per year.

“President-elect Trump will begin making decisions on who will serve in his second administration soon. Those decisions will be announced when they are made,” Trump spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told CNN.

President-elect Donald Trump on Monday selected former Rep. Lee Zeldin of New York to oversee the Environmental Protection Agency in his administration.

In a statement announcing the appointment, Trump described the former four-term House Republican from Long Island as "a true fighter for America First policies."

"He will ensure fair and swift deregulatory decisions that will be enacted in a way to unleash the power of American businesses, while at the same time maintaining the highest environmental standards, including the cleanest air and water on the planet," Trump said. "He will set new standards on environmental review and maintenance, that will allow the United States to grow in a healthy and well-structured way."

I hope everyone enjoyed this year's hurricane season, it will be our weakest for the foreseeable future

Oh yeah this sounds real great, can't wait for him to allow Trump and his cronies to allow Copper Sulfide mining upstream of the Boundary Waters, which would destroy one of the world's last naturally pristine wildernesses.

Hitler was legally elected

We get it you hate minorities
The downplay of the Republicans while calling the dems evil n only for the fringe is gross

The fact you are implying the Republicans don't use those sane divisive talking points is extremely biased and dishonest

You really need to open a history book, your ignorance is astonishing

You really like talking about Hitler...

Trump will not make things better for anyone but the ultra rich, you're a simpleton to believe otherwise

Also saying shit like use any bathroom u like n abortions until birth really peal your mask off. You're kind of a huge piece of hateful shit to act all high n mighty looking down on lgbtq rights n women like their issues don't matter.

Just a repugnant , disturbing post. It saddens me ppl think like this. Be better

You've missed the point with Hitler, yes he was legally elected. But does that mean that knowing the evil he unleashed upon the World that its fine to allow him into power? Or in hindsight would he not be allowed to take power? In hindsight would the German government have done all they can to keep him and the nazi party out of power? Or just shrug their shoulders and let him in? No in hindsight he would be kept out of power, and if Trump is supposedly the new Hitler, he would be kept out of power too right?

I made a point of stating numerous times that it is both sides that do the shit I was calling out. I did that because I knew there would be someone like you, a screeching, toxic, person who cant handle someone not worshipping the Democrats and possibly praising Donald Trump. Both sides engage in the divisive rhetoric, both sides fuck up, both sides are a part of the overall problem. But I have a bigger issue with the War Mongering of the Democrat Party, and their claims of defending Democracy when they anointed someone to Presidential candidate status with no democratic process. Now yes there are of course War Mongers in the Republicans, the Cheneys were Republicans until now. But Trump listened to his base last time around and doesn't push for War or celebrate War.

Yes, you've got me with your mindless talking points and buzzwords, I hate minorities. Yes, me the half Maori guy, probably the smallest minority on this forum. Or if you possess even a modicum of reading comprehension, what makes more sense? Focusing on the issues that affect a small group of people, or focusing on the issues that affect everyone? Financially we're all fucked, the economy globally is fucked, that's where the focus should be, because that is what is brining on the most suffering and hardship. A shitty economy affects everyone regardless of race, sex, sexuality, religion, creed, whatever.

I like talking about Hitler so I must be a nazi or something right? Jesus Christ, is that really how your brain works? Are you that repulsive and repugnant and just plain trash as a human being? What does that logic then say about all the Democrats and all the left wing Media personalities who constantly call Trump Hitler and liken his supporters to Nazi's? Does that same logic apply? Or am I just replying to that notion? If Trump is Hitler why would you hand him power? I mean you're the guy who is fine with Hitler and nazis being handed power...

The common man was doing better under Trump than they did Biden. That's just reality. I'll turn an earlier point back on you, you think the Democrats don't help the rich? You think the people who control the media and Hollywood and raised a billion dollars for this campaign dont look after the ultra rich first and foremost? That's what the War in Ukraine is, hundreds of billions of dollars spent on War, makes these people rich.

Nowhere did I say LGBT rights and the like don't matter, what I said (again if you possessed even a modicum of reading comprehension) was that there are issues that affect everyone, and there are issues that affect some people. If you solely address the issues that only affect some people we're still left with the issues that affect everyone. This election was won on the basis that Trump was promising to address the issues that affect everyone. That's a pretty basic concept to wrap your head around, surely.

I'll say this as well. More than Trump I support the idea of Trump and what he could do. Because here's something we should be able to agree on; the system is fucked, the system is broken. The average, ordinary person is being trodden on. Even our healthcare system benefits off of us being sick, the people who run our World benefit off of our suffering. left, right, whatever. The system loves our suffering. Establishment Politicians will never change this.

I sure can't wait for when in four years and America's in a recession because of mass deportations and Trump's horrible tariffs that Americans will think they were living better with Trump than Biden

Obviously it's warranted if it is about leading blue states onto the path of righteousness.

Honestly, it's hard to really feel bad for Hispanic/Latino voters in this case because they voted overwhelmingly for Trump, who promised that he was going to commit to mass deportation. They made their bed, now they're gonna lie in it when they realized Trump was talking about them.

I just have little to no empathy for any demographic that votes against their interests and then are shocked when they suffer the consequences of doing so.

But of course we can't have these nuanced talks about how mass deportation would actually be really bad for the American economy (largely because of corporations underpaying these immigrants to take jobs the average American citizen holds their nose at, like agricultural and manufacturing labor) without being accused of wanting to protect illegal immigration :draper2

Is this some kind of new hindsight fallacy I've never heard of :lol what is this logic that American citizens automatically know who's bad.

"Trump can't be Hitler bc he was elected"

"Hitler was elected"

"Yes but in hindsight he wouldn't have been"

Am I losing braincells here?

Also dismissing trans issues to "wanting genderless bathroom" would be like the racists that still to this day dismiss the civil rights movement as only being about "water fountains and bus seats". I'm sure this point will be ignored or it will be hand waived away as "not true" despite southern conservatives saying literally that exact line every year around MLK day. "Im privileged and don't interact with racists everyday so they don't exist to me" is so tiring.

Also didn't have time to do any thesaurus editing to sound smarter. Hindsight didn't tell me to

The hindsight argument doesn't work anyways, since we are already in the hindsight phase of Trump's first term and 74 million US citizens still gave him their vote, even after hearing him talk and campaign for 9 years now.
