I think I'd rather see Cena lose - however it happens - and just lose his mind afterward

Cena turns communist!
Hahahahahha.

I would really love to see a cena heel turn right now. I mean, realistically, it's the only interesting thing they can do with him as of now. Him beating rusev as expected and dominating the mid upper card level of talent will get no one anywhere if you ask me. He can win now and then. But let's face it, johns time is up, others time is now.

I respect the hell out of Cena and, quite honestly, I was shocked when rusev beat him by "submission" at fast lane. Maybe this is a sign of true change? Maybe Cena can turn heel?

Only time will tell, but this would be an amazing thing to watch in 2015. Truly earth shattering.

Cena is one of those guys that would still sell stuff, too. Sure, it may not be as much as before, but he would still be a prime player. People would buy his stuff simply because he's still John Cena. And he's a top dog.

I would mark so hard if he lost, fell into a depression (kind of like a couple years ago there vs the rock), and then "fell in line" with Bray. Given the past they have shared so far it would be a great story IMO.

Omg if this happened, I would purposely watch raw, smackdown, and the wwe network nightly. Just to show my support of their product currently. WWE is doing some good things: pushing reigns (although it's forceful if you ask me), letting Seth get some major heat, letting tons of talent right for the IC title (even though I feel DB should be fighting the rock or something). But WWE will start to do some good things, then majorly fuck up other things in the name of what's "best for business." When the reality is this, "it's what best for Vince."

I've actually enjoyed some of Cena's recent actions and I am no fan of the man. I've mentioned before that I did like his aggressive character when he was US Champ years ago. It's afterwards when he became John "The Narrator" Cena who got his ass beat throughout a match to win at the end that made me stop liking him (and before anyone decides to explain to me why Cena's character was changed to a post 911 character blah blah blah, save it. I am completely aware why his character was changed... knowing the reason why does not obligate me to agree or be less harsh on him for it).

But his actions with Rusev have been enjoyable. My two favorite wrestlers of all time are Ric Flair and Jeff Jarrett, so I obviously have no problem with aggressive, heelish and cheating tactics. I'm like Jesse Ventura in that I like heels, I like cheating and I like doing whatever it takes to win. Ask mY sister, when my family plays Monopoly, no one leaves me alone with the board. So although I'm not ready to cheer for Cena (I doubt even a heel turn would make me a fan) O liked what he did to Rusev because it's precisely my style.

One thing I've found myself asking is how much of the John Cena character is actually him. How aware is he that he's making money off of a caricature of himself?
How badly does he want to turn heel? I've heard him lie before many times, but I'm not sure if that was a case of Cena being young or if he was aware that he was making a political move.
Either Cena is a shrewd politician or he is exactly as you (Jacob Fox) believe he may be.

I lean toward Cena just being a shrewd politician who isn't as dumb as we all believe he is. If true, his heel run could be all time epic. However, knowing him, a politician of his caliber would only look to sabotage his own brilliance of a heel run.

Please don't misunderstand. I have absolutely nothing against John Cena the person. It's John Cena the character that I don't like. I actually think as a person, the real man is commendable in many ways. I don't get on his case about burying talent because in the end, those decisions are not ultimately his. I find the amount of time he spends on charity work to be commendable.

It's the character that I don't like. We have a man who is more than capable of putting on five star brawls. He has done it before. The character comes out, spends his entire time recapping so much than anime is envious of him and gets his ass kicked for the majority of his matches to come back and win with a couple moves. Over the past few years, he has actually had some much better matches.. several of his bouts with CM Punk were great and the third Lesnar fight and the Royal Rumble triple threat was amazing. Even his rapping character wasn't as bad.

But please don't think I dislike the actual man because I commend a lot of things that he does. Being from the kayfabe period, I tend to discuss things as if it is still going on.
