According to a new report, WWE is considering inducting the first ever match into the Hall of Fame in 2014. The idea would be to induct everyone involved with the very first WrestleMania main event - something that has never been done before.

Hulk Hogan teamed up with Mr. T to take on Roddy Piper and Paul Orndoff in the very first headlining act at WrestleMania in 1985. The match was a huge spectacle that also included Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka and "Cowboy" Bob Orton in opposite corners, as well as legendary boxer Muhammad Ali and Pat Patterson as officials. It is unknown at this point who WWE would look to induct, whether it would just be the four men actually wrestling the match, the managers or if it truly would be everyone involved.

It's being said that with WWE inducting so many legends each year, this would give them a lot more content to work with in the future, as high-profile names become harder to book for the anticipated annual event.

Its about damn time Mr. T goes in as WM and the wwe wouldn't be where they are without his help. I like the concept personally. Its a subtle way to get a lot of matches even more notice for being historical. We could even see Austin and Rock on the same stage one day for their mania 17 encounter alongside Vince

I really don't know how I feel about this to be honest. I like Mr. T going in but a match in the HOF seems odd to me, but I don't have any problem with it. Definitely something I haven't thought of though and could lead to some fun inductions.

So basically Mr. T will only be inducted for that one particular matchup? If he really is important to WWE history like you said then maybe he should be inducted as a celebrity? I mean surely we don't need anymore Drew Carrey's in the stupid HOF right?

Can't say I'm a fan of this to be honest.

It's not really debatable that Mr. T was crucial to Hollywood crossover and the success of mania one. I mean he could go in solo, but let's be real here wwe only has one celeb that could actually sell tickets solo to induct, Floyd.

Alright fine but my point is that I don't think Mr. T should be inducted in the hall of fame from this ridiculous concept, especially since he hasn't been inducted in the HOF on his own prior to this. Im cool with him being in the HOF but not in this manner.

Well they could have picked a better match. Anyway that match was celeb tastic! He deserves a place in Mania history, but I don't know about this either.

Weird, but an interesting concept that would allow them to keep bringing back HBK, Bret, Hogan, Horsemen, or anyone else that cares to make another free appearance. In the end, the Hall of Fame is a work, but that's cool, the business is a work too. It's about promotion of the company and the Wrestlemania event. So why not "induct" matches? It's all to sell Wrestlemania and the WWE by playing up its history.

And let's face it, they're running out of big names to headline these Hall of Fame ceremonies if it was based purely on inducting only the characters.

Just hope we don't see them inducting ring aprons 10 years from now.

Just because it headlined the first Wrestlemania? I guess that entitles the match a spot even if other matches deserve this distinction so much more. Celebrities shouldn't get credit for workrate anyways. What about next year King Kong Bundy and Hulk Hogan rehash memories of their terrible cage match?

Seriously should have started with Steamboat/Savage at WM III or something before the WM era.

First of all, I think it's silly to induct matches into the HoF. What's next...Mr Socko?

yeah if we're adding matches for how "import and impactfull" on the business it was then sure this totally deserves to go in, but I also hope Flair/Steamboat series gets in

Can't wait for Hogan to be brought back for his match with Andre and then again for his match with The Rock and then christ knows for what else.

Maybe if they cut it down to inducting like 5 people a year, they wouldn't have to resort concepts such as this and the rumoured MSG Building one.

Can understand why they're doing it for reasons @Cena's Jeans Shorts mentioned, but I can't say I'm a fan of the idea really.

I don't like the idea of inducting matches. Seems stupid. They could just induct like 2-3 people a year and call it a show. There are still a lot of people that haven't been inducted that they could stretch out over the next few years. Then you have tags and stables on top of that. Diva's. Managers. A few select celebrities. They can go on for another ten years inducting people and then by that time it will be time to start inducting attitude era stars and huge modern day stars like Cena.

Cam Neely and Eric Lindros were put into the hockey HOF without much of a resume to back it up. WWE are doing the same thing. Someone said it was a work, and they are right. Jesus they put Johnny Rodz in their second HOF class waaay back. HOF never meant shit to anyone other than the wrestlers who got the nod because wrestlers are very insecure about their place in history and are the biggest marks of all.
