Heels have their sports team bashing, babyfaces have their cheap pops for the locals. Being consistently and effectively lovable/hateable is requires more work. Chris Jericho's arrogance springs from a messiah complex that has been a key trait in every heel persona he's ever played, refned right down to every gesture, expression and vocal inflection. The Miz is just kind of an asshole. Both can draw the heat, but one is far more intriguing than the other, but then the other is easier to package. Take your pick.

No being a heel is allot easier. To be a heel you just need to be an ass to the fans and build your character. To be a face you need to find a way to make the fans cheer you while not being corny and cheesy.

Look at Miz great heel weak face

Del Rio great heel weak face
It's always harder to be a face especially to start and build your career as a face

Actually, Del Rio has gotten over relatively well as face so far. And all he really has going for him is Ricardo's mic work, fans adopting the "Si" chant and a racist foe, because he's otherwise the same dude.
