Yeah, this is the case for some people, not everyone. Some people do it from being bullied in school, some do it for attention, the list goes on and on. Either way, cutting still isn't okay. I know that now. My mother found out when I was 16 because a police man saw my leg. He called her... she tried to send me to someone to talk, I went twice and refused to talk. I told her I didn't need it and stopped right after. My problem was, instead of venting my frustrations and speaking up, I bottled everything in and snapped. I am glad you can better understand it though, that is what I wanted from posting about it. For people to understand it better.
I understand in most cases as long as the interpretations are not vague or lack substance. At least you've made a nice turnaround, and I commend you for that.

Also Lel at the other guy still thinking I'm bullied. Haha nah brother, just living the high life~
Not saying your are bullied now, at the end of the day. But in the past you were, just defending you lad. Look lad, we know you need a good hard shag, but playing big man on campus on here aint going to beat the bulllies or make that happen.

no matter what you do now lad, high school never ends

Nero, why do you put ~ after some posts, normally when people point you out on something and you reply with a 'cool' post, does the ~ increase the coolness of the post? If you're gonna do a tildebang, at least do the whole version "~!"

I don't self harm, but I do sort of like pain, so I can see why they do it.

Their body, really, more power to them.

There's actually another part to the whole idea of this, and there could be a possible relation with this and masochism, but I'm not going to jump to that cause that's probably personality difference.

I've had the misfortune to be around someone who did this, and it wasn't that she didn't know it was a bad idea, she knew it was stupid but like @Just Kevin posted a ton of times it's that momentary escape.

She had stuff going on in her life that beat some of the things we hear in movies, life can be shit sometimes.

Ridiculing them or being mad at them is basically like telling someone with self esteem issues that 'hey why can't you be better' it just fuels the dark side for them so the best thing is to just help them get professional help.

I helped her get mental help and she still goes to see the doctor. It's not a happy ever after ending, it's just a no more bleeding ending, Which is fine with me.

Certain kind of pain can be enjoyable, at least to me anyways. lol

Pain is all how you perceive it. If you just stop during a moment of pain and think "man, this feels awesome" you can actually enjoy it.

Isn't that masochism. I don't exactly interpret pain as a feeling of joy.

That is the term for it, sure. But again, pain is nothing more than your brain informing you that your body is being damaged.

The adrenaline rush is what makes it feel good. Some people get higher amounts of it then others from pain.
