Sami Callihan signed to WWE, given new name

Not sure if the news of him being signed has been posted, but it is official. He has been given a new name as well, and I personally think its bad ass. "The Songs of Solomon shall be sung" just gets me pumped for his gimmick already. Just sounds awesome. With Wyatt family being brought it, The Ascension, and now Solomon, it looks like WWE is starting to back more darker gimmicks.

They announced a lot more new names for talent yesterday;

A number of WWE developmental talents have been officially re-christened with what look to be their new official WWE ring names.

Stephen Cole has been renamed Cole Andrews

Britney Fetkin has been renamed Devin Taylor.

Erika Hammond has been renamed Veronica Lane.

Smith James has been renamed Bull Dempsey.

Lexi Kaufman has been renamed Alexa Bliss.

CJ Perry is now LANA.

Rebecca Quinn (the former Rebecca Knox) has been renamed Becky Lynch.

Adam Scherr has been renamed Braun Stowman. Interesting they would rename him as he's got a bit of a name in the bodybuilding world, having won the 2012 Arnold Amateur Strongman World Championships.
Australian talent Matt Silva has been renamed Buddy Murphy.

Most of these names are boring generic names. I know it is early but it would have been nice to see a few gimmicky names in that list. Hate the name for Matt Silva, Buddy Murphy is terrible. All I can think of is Buddy Holly.

Have met Matt Silva and have spoken and trained with him (Back when I wanted to train to be a professional wrestler). The name sucks but it was going to be either that or JAG COOPER for him. WWE went with Buddy Murphy in the end, it'll be funny if the IWC hates him and end up saying "FUCK BUDDY".

I find Braun Stowman the funniest name of all by far, but it's good.

As for Sami now being Soloman Crowe, that name is fucking epic!

Considering the other names in this thread Solomon Crowe is actually quite good. Also, I much prefer to it Sami Callhan anyways since no guy should shorten their first name to "Sami" if there is name is Samuel.

This thread is actually pretty annoying as THE NAME DOESN'T FUCKING MATTER(see: Midian, Diamond Dallas Page, Mr. Kennedy). Hell half the time a guys ability doesn't matter it's all about the character and even then that may not matter (see: Mordacai or Muhammed Hassan)
