Alas, Internet sensation and popular WWE star Zack Ryder continues to have a rocky relationship with his employer.

In the past, the under-utilized Ryder hasn't exactly been shy about his criticism of WWE. Rather than towing the company line, he's made several digs on Twitter on his lack of a push, took shots at them on his YouTube show Z! True Long Island Story and even thrown out the possibility that he may be leaving sooner or later.

So, have things smoothed out between Ryder and WWE in recent times?

Eh, not exactly. Indeed, on Friday, the day episode of No. 88 of Z! True Long Island Story was due to be released, no new episode was unveiled, as Zack confirmed on his Twitter.

So, what is going on? Well, as Ryder noted a day earlier, it seemed someone at the company's official YouTube channel objected to the content the episode in question: "So @WWE rejected Episode 88 of Z! TLIS. Thus, tomorrow's episode will suck."

Earlier today, Ryder once again discussed the issue, mentioning he had, in fact, made two editions of that particular show, with WWE apparently having a problem with both of them: "I made 2 different Episode 88s of Z! True Long Island Story. They will be never be seen. The third Episode 88 will air next Friday. #best1?"

Interestingly, this is not the first time Ryder has accused WWE of meddling with his show. Back in April, he complained about the company cutting two crucial minutes of his show.

Ryder has declined to go into details about what had troubled the company about episode No. 88, although there are a couple of possibilities. One, is that Ryder may have finally went too far in his criticism of management and the promotion were no longer willing to tolerate it.

Of course, another possibility is that the current "Where's Trent?" storyline, a long-running angle on the programme, is to blame.

The story, which revolves around the mysterious whereabouts of lower-card wrestler Trent Barreta, has been known for its highly creative, and occasionally, dark and disturbing imagery.

Ryder, who continues to flourish as a filmmaker, is clearly a fan of David Lynch, with some of the Trent segments being positively nightmarish in their presentation.

For just one example, check out episode No. 73, which features a truly surreal segment with a scared witless and paranoid Kofi Kingston seeing Trent everywhere he goes.

With the angle gearing up in recent weeks, it's very possible that the company felt that something concerning it on episode No. 88 was not in keeping with their PG image.

Will episode No. 88 ever see the light of day? Does Ryder have a future in the company when he continues to trash them so brazenly in public? Or is it possible all of Ryder's Twitter complaints are some elaborate work, and Ryder/WWE are fooling us all?

Interestingly, these questions are shaping up to be as pertinent and intriguing as the issue of "Where's Trent?"

To be honest, I don't like how WWE pretty much just took over. It's not as fun as it used to be when he was in full control.

Truth be told, I stpped enjoying the show long before WWE took over. It's gotten to the point where Zack cries on the show whenever things don't go his way. At first it was cute and creative, now it's annoying.

He got his shot, it didn't work out. Now find another way to get featured again.

Truth spoken thur.

I've seen his show, wasn't a fan tbh. Still don't think this guy will be anything more than Santino with spiked hair.

Want success? Change the gimmick. Gimmicks don't last long aside from Taker.

He was a midcard act that's all he will ever be he will need to find another way to get himself over because this series and the WWWYKI crap won't last much longer.

Maybe it's because they killed all the momentum he had? Sure the smarks probs disliked him even during his us title reign, but he was very over with the fans and they had him drop the title WHY?

Ryders gimmick now will never allow him to become a main eventer/ Future World Champion. Because he has/had a goofy gimmick. You rarely ever see a world champion in the wwe who has had a goofy gimmick like ryder in the past.

I agree mostly with the "anti-Ryder" arguments (its just the only thing I can think to call it), especially with what a couple have said about how Ryder should now try something else and see if it sticks, rather than stick with the Broski schtick that probably won't elevate him too far anyway. That's probably the best thing for him to do.

But what mystifies me is why WWE isn't trying to get us to accept him? I'm not that big on Ryder, but honestly I thought he was exactly what WWE had been looking for. A new babyface who went out of the box to get himself over in a fun, light-hearted way, seemingly has the praise of the IWC, a direct parody of (sadly) one of the most dominant forces in pop culture right now, and, most importantly, could be a massive merch mover.

Every time I look at Ryder, despite the fact that I find him to be grating sometimes, I'm tempted to wonder over the potential. But that's really all that was holding Ryder back: He came off as green and akward. With some committment, some direction and some polish, WWE could tune this guy into whatever they want to.

Like him or not, Ryder is probably justified in his anger (I didn't read the article). He's ticked all the boxes except for the ones WWE should be helping him with, yet they seem determined to let him rot in the lower cards. I don't get it.

Never understood why they did the stupid angle with Eve and understood even less why they had him buried by Kane when he was at his hottest..... that said, I think he got to the peak of where he could go with that schtick... Best thing to do, IMO, is take him off TV for a couple months, have him return at the Rumble and make a decent run, then bring him out the next night on Raw and see if the crowd cares.

Who cares? This is one notch above JTG getting upset. Who cares that some jobber doesn't like his position.

I'd like to see Ryder become heel again and team with someone. He's proven he's probably better in a tag team anyway.

I think this is another case of one small issue being blown way out of proportion, obviously he would be upset that his show was edited but he is probably over the moon that he is still making a ton of money thanks to him being on tv now.

With Ryder they missed an opportunity with him by not evolving his character over time. The way the brought him in and built him up to winning the US title was great but after that they completely messed up. They could easily have adapted the gimmick that he had and given it a tougher more serious edge to make him into a guy that can stick around in the midcard rather than keeping him as a comedic sidekick for Santino.

If Ryder legitimately feels that WWE is sabotaging him, he should really just get a release and go on about his Youtube vids on a separate channel and try to be an entrepreneur of sorts. And then when he realizes that was a completely stupid decision, he can come back to WWE and hope they still let him do his Youtube videos. That would pretty much prove to everyone including Ryder that Ryder never made himself despite what some people want to believe.

Needless to say, he needs to understand that the stuff he airs is still technically a WWE product and the fact he gets his hands on it so much is a privilege that not many wrestlers get.
