They did need the Elite, that’s my point. With the Elite and the NJPW partnership, they were doing better than even before NXT came around.

ROH in 2016-2018 was a great product and fans were all about it. Using partnerships well shouldn’t be a knock. Impact is currently doing that well and honestly if that talent went away, they’d also hurt.
no my point was their partnership was doing badly, they were booking non sense. njpw was the over product for the most part, and thats the point. regardless of aew, the elite were going, they were going to go get paid regardless and roh had 0 plan

If Tony hadn’t made AEW, there’s a strong chance a deal was reached between them, ROH and Japan.
they offered kenny and the bucks like a million eaach with a 6 month out clause. roh was never getting those guys on their budget. mb crazy cody

They were dying way before that when they lost the dragon, cole, red dragon, etc etc etc to nxt. kenny n the bucks werent even their exclusive talent either and the large majority of their praised work was in japan. i really dont think roh was that hot of a product when they werent using njpw guys . but hey, agree to disagree

We’re going to have to agree to disagree then, because I think ROH was doing well. So well Cody made a bet with Dave ROH couldn’t sell out a 10K seat venue and Cody with ROH backing him achieved that goal, and I don’t think Cody and the Elite would have left for WWE. I’m fairly certainly without Tony, ROH and Japan would have agreed to a joint contract that was really all the Bucks wanted.

Shit, even with Tony, if he just bought ROH like I said earlier instead of making AEW, ROH would be on TNT rn.

I think if you read the Bucks book you might feel very differently about thinking the elite werent going to take the money. they had achieved everything in njpw and roh and they couldnt pony up anywhere near wwe money

Take who’s money? I’m talking about in a scenario where Tony doesn’t make AEW.

If you mean, WWE, I think they said at one point they made more money controlling their dates and working both ROH and Japan as well as outside dates than they would taking a WWE NXT deal. Maybe I’m wrong but pretty sure they’ve said all they wanted was ring of honor and new Japan to work together on a joint contract.

I also don’t think WWE would have taken all the talent that eventually left ROH for AEW.

like who tho? after the elite there wasnt a hell of a lot left to take. scrull got cancelled, joey got cancelled, cage was in impact. infact most of aew poached from impact and mlw . kenny was from njpw too.
