I thought the show was pretty good. good crowd although i think they had more on saturday night. not as big a bunch of assholes as usual for Philly or as at the Friday show in CT. I enjoyed Aries vs. Omega very much, good pairing there. I couldnt tell that Claudio had the ropes so this clears that up. rumors of a pure rules match or submission between those two even before yesterdays results. Brodie Lee ten times better when he was in there with a good opponent. ladies match was ok,Steffy did almost nothing except fight off the advances of Sweeney. i guess Sweeney is going more for an even more slime sucking character with his shirt mostly unbuttoned. i took a quick poll and not too many people would buy him as liking girls but we'll see how it goes. King and Titus were there usual smooth operating duo. it was great how Callahan got a decent reaction then when Kingston came out Sami was dropped like a hot potato and the crowd went apeshit. nice than Kingston has been able to overcome getting beat up by a referee a couple months ago to appearing on tv nationwide. still leads to lose the baby belly. Dempsey did like two moves but it was enough. Jimmy J looked ok compared to most of his matches. Necro wasnt as slow as Friday night, still the least entertaining match of the night IMO. the Fight Club manhandled Lidge and Grizzly. i talked to Lidge during intermission and told him about Kaz's comments. he said he cant take anyone seriously who would hang out with Gray Ghost or wear those pants from friday night. nigel still not in top form but crisper than Friday had a decent match vs. Payne, probably the best ive seen from Alex although the outcome wasnt in doubt. nice to see two in a row for Steen and Jay although how are they going to explain in two months them teaming up. i dont expect Generico to still be injured then unless they do an injury angle of him before its aired although they didnt play up the revenge thing as much as they did friday. Briscoes left while Steen was hamming it up for the camera.Dragon and Tyler was of course a good match,ME worthy . Dragon was over HUGE. there werent nearly as many people lined up to suck Tylers ass as in NJ last month. Aries distracted Black and Dragon by talking on the mic, AOTF guys came out and Aries left. Necro has to make the save when it's 2 on 2?

a) Grizzly Redwood & Aaron Scott over Sigmund & Sean Schultz

b) Alex "Sugarfoot" Payne over Travis Sawyer

Belltime pushed back to 8:15pm CST; attendance estimated at 650-700

1) Roderick Strong over Jay Briscoe after reversing a victory roll; really good match.

2) SHIMMER Women Athletes Title Match: Champion MsChif over Daizee Haze; Jacobs tells Delirious in the post-match that he needs to deliver in a major way tonight or bad things will happen...Jacobs tells Daizee to stay out of things and that she wants to hurt Delirious. Jacobs then threatened to spike Daizee.

3) Four Corner Survival Match
Austin Aries over Kenny Omega, Silas Young & Claudio Castagnoli when Aries pinned Omega; Another really, really good match that Aries took with a turnbuckle dropkick and brainbuster.

Ric Flair and Dave Prazak head to ringside!

Flair says that he and ROH are "one." Says that the next HBK is in the ROH locker room and puts over the locker room. Nigel interrupts.

He welcomes Flair and says ROH is the hottest thing in wrestling today. Nigel indicates that he won't say that Flair is not one of the best wrestlers ever...but rips him as a husband and a father! Flair says he'll bring Reid Flair to ROH to challenge Nigel. Flair tells Nigel that to be the man, he has to prove it in the ring. Flair said he'd bring Reid in "next week."

Return Date is October 9th. Great reaction for Flair.

4) Six Man Tag Team Grudge Match
Chris Hero and The American Wolves of Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards w/ Larry Sweeney over ROH World Tag Team Champions Kevin Steen & El Generico and Bobby Dempsey when Davey made Steen tap out to the Cloverleaf. Steen was going for a moonsault, but Sweeney cracked him on the knee with a chair to prevent the move. SnS Inc. attacked Steen with chairs and Generico made the save.

5) Kenny King & "Addicted to Love" Rhett Titus over Irish Airborne of Jake & Dave Crist using the finisher they've used together (powerbomb/blockbuster combo)

6) Grudge Match
"American Dragon" Bryan Danielson over Bison Smith (with NO Prince Nana) via Count Out when Danielson made it back into the ring a '19' when both men were brawling on the floor.

7) Tyler Black & Jerry Lynn over The Age of the Fall of Jimmy Jacobs & Delirious when Black pinned Delirious after Jacobs mistimed a chair shot for Black and hit Delirious instead.

Jacobs was about to help Delirious up, but then shoved him down. Daizee came out to make the save and gets spiked by Jacobs!

Jacobs then went to spike Delirious, which was blocked. Delirious hits a Cobra Suplex, spikes Jacobs (!) and hits 5 Panic Attacks!

Daizee slowly rises and jumps into Delirious' arms and they embrace and hug.

Ric Flair is out to ringside for the Main Event!

8) Ring of Honor World Title Match
Brent Albright over Nigel McGuinness (C) via DQ when Claudio Castagnoli attacked. Nigel and Claudio double teamed until RIC FLAIR made the save, throwing punches and chops. Flair raised Albright's hand and that was it.

Just a note about the attendance.

Multiple sources within ROH tagged tonight's crowd at an overflowing 1,000 fans with every available seat used and tons of fans standing. It was easily the largest crowd for the company thus far in the market to the point that earlier today, there was concern they were going to have to turn fans away at the door due to lack of room in the venue.

This is according to PWinsider... It seems that getting Flair might have been a good move for ROH.

For as great as the attendance was last night, it seems that tonight will be the complete opposite. As of now, attendance is nearing the 400 mark.

Note:I'll be editing this post with the results of tonight's show.

Pre-Show results:

a) Shorty McIntyre, Sean Schultz & Sigmund over Andy "Right Leg" Ridge and 2 Color Unspecified Ninjas

b) Mickey Nichols over Samson

Kevin Thorne is in the house; attendance as of 7:25pm is no more than 300.

Main Show results:

1) "Spyder" Nate Webb over Flash Flanagan via Arachnid Kick

Attendance creeping towards the 400 mark.

2) Claudio Castagnoli over "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson and Kenny Omega when he pinned Omega; Bison Smith attacked Danielson post-match and left.

3) Chris Hero over Jay Briscoe via Roaring Elbow

Return Date is October 10, 2009.

4) ROH World Tag Team Title Match
Kevin Steen & El Generico (C) over Kenny King & Rhett "Addicted to Love" Titus when Generico pinned Titus, who was not the legal man. The American Wolves attacked the champs post-match.

***INTERMISSION***

5) Bison Smith over Silas Young

6) Roderick Strong & Brent Albright over The American Wolves of Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards w/ Larry Sweeney thanks to Generico causing a distraction and Strong pinning Edwards.

7) Jimmy Jacobs over Delirious in a No DQ Match when Jacobs DDT'd Delirious through a table from the top rope and locked on End Time.

8) Tyler Black & Jerry Lynn over ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness & Austin Aries in just over 20 minutes...when Lynn pinned Nigel with his Cradle Piledriver. Lots of nearfalls late, with Nigel hitting Black with a belt shot, but Black kicked out. Nigel hitting Tower of London, but Black kicked out.

Last night's show looked pretty good. The Age of the Fall looks to be done, which is what it needed to be. Everyone in there besides Jacobs meant nothing.

Glad to see Davey picking up the win for SnS.While I'm not a huge fan of Eddie Edwards, Steenerico vs The American Wolves has potential.

Didn't like the DQ finish to the main event. :n:

The Flair thing looked alright. Hopefully when Reid shows up we see that he has some talent, as opposed to his brother.

The last show looked decent, but the attendance is really a downer. More stuff with The Wolves and Steenerico is :y:, though this shit with Lynn/Nigel needs to stop. I don't want Lynn ROH Champ.

Some fans said this show was great, however the card doesn't interest me much on paper.

AOTF isn't done just yet i don't think. Although i sure it will be done with soon. They got that "Revolution Rules" match coming up. Better name than AOTF Rules.

that Revolution rules match has all the makings of a clusterfu*k. itll be one of those matches where the fans, wrestlers and ref will all be confused.its tough these days deciding which shows to buy.DQ's,countouts, distractions, interference, belt shots, way too much of that stuff.

Ongoing ROH results from Elizabeth, Pittsburgh

Preshow
-Alex Payne & Grizzley Redwood v Brandon Day? and ??? ended either in NC or win by Sugarfoot and Grizzly when Bison Smith tore everyone up. Bison
and Nana interfered. Dragon made the save. Being reported the Embassy has been reformed.

-Shiima Xion b Brandon Marino. Xion looked good

Note:Larry Sweeney won't be at today's show, nor tomorrow's (Don't know why)

Main Show

1) Delirious beats Sterling James Keenan. Delirious was wearing all black.

2) Kenny King and Rhett Titus beat Matt Cross and Erick Stevens with a powerbomb/springboard shoulderblock combo. Aries comes out to apologize to the Resilience but turned on them. Strong with the save.

3) Bryan Danielson beats Mike Quackenbush by small package. "great match"

4) Claudio Castagnoli beats Jerry Lynn and Brent Albright when Lynn taps to the Crowbar. Albrght had the crowbar on Lynn til CC took him out and applied the move himself. "surprisingly good match".

I guess Eddie Edwards couldn't make it to the show either.

5) Jimmy Jacobs and Brodie Lee beat Tyler Black and Necro Butcher via a Chairshot. The finish saw Lee hit Black with a chair while going for a Phoenix Splash. Pin came after this. Said to be a "crazy awesome brawl" with a teased spot of a powerbomb thru the merch table.

6) Austin Aries beats Roderick Strong via Brainbuster. Titus and King interfered and cost Strong the match. Aries spent the whole match trying to avoid the chops but in the end fell victim to them.

7) KENTA and El Generico beat Nigel McGuiness and Davey Richards after KENTA hit the GTS on Nigel.

Shiima Xion(!) is awesome. About time, too, even though it's just a preshow.

It looked like a really good Friday show, setting up tomorrow's show and the upcoming shows OK. KENTA getting the pin means that he's not winning tomorrow, I think. The new Embassy should be OK, I'm hoping there's someone more interesting than Bison Smith with Nana.

Sweeney off the shows means something is up. He obviously did something to piss off management for him to be taken off shows.

Apparently Nigel suffered some sort of arm injury last night. A doctor was called into check him out. The injury was apparently on Nigel's other arm, and not the one that was injured when Nigel first won the title.

I guess tonight's result of the KENTA-Nigel match will tell us how badly he's hurt.

Of course, Tyler Black still has a title shot, so they could use that as a way to take strap off of Nigel in case he needs surgery.

Even though I want the title off Nigel it kind of sucks if he is injured because now if someone wins the title off him it will be because of injury and not because they thought it was time for someone else to hold the belt.

The show looked good, every match looks worthy of watching. Quackenbush losing to Danielson by a small package should mean they will meet in the ring again sometime which will be good. I agree with HFH, since KENTA pinned Nigel I doubt he will be getting the title (unless Nigel is in fact injured), they would have had KENTA get the pin to make him look good and so the commentators can use the old "KENTA has pinned Nigel before" but the match should still be great.

I'm going to make an effort to download this. The next show which I believe is on soon should be a good one :y:

On-Going results for ROH's 7th anniversary show

- ROH returns to New York, NY on June 13th with RIC FLAIR.

1. Roderick Strong & Erick Stevens def. "Team Thrust" of Kenny King & Rhett Titus after Stevens pins Titus with a doctor bomb. "Good, real fun match."

- Paul Turner receives a standing ovation and NEXT WORLD CHAMP chant.

2. Brent Albright def. Claudio Castagnoli via disqualification after a low blow. The match originally ends in a TIME LIMIT DRAW. The two continue to exchange after the bell and the refs break them up. Claudio asks for five more minutes and he gets it. Match restarted... Albright goes for a half nelson suplex, but Castagnoli hits Albright with a low blow for the dq. "Really good match." Afterwards, Castagnoli takes out security and some refs before stomping Albright's head with a chair.

3. Bobby Dempsey def. Adam Pearce with a death valley driver in less than a minute. Some NBC guy was at ringside during the match as a special timekeeper.

4. Jerry Lynn def. Mike Quackenbush with the cradle piledriver. Handshake post match.

5. Ultimate Endurance- Revolution Rules...

- Austin Aries eliminates Delirious with a brainbuster. The next fall can't end via pin.

- Brodie Lee & The Necro Butcher fight into the crowd and are both eliminated from the match.

- Lots of bickering between Austin Aries & Jimmy Jacobs. Tyler Black hits the powerbomb/superkick combo on Aries, then eliminates him in the end time. The final fall can't end via submission.

- Tyler Black def. Jimmy Jacobs after reversing the end time into god's last gift. Match was "pretty eh" after Butcher/Lee dissapeared.

Note:The dude that's sending the results to PWinsider call the Ultimate Endurance match one of the worst matches in ROH history

6. Bryan Danielson & Colt Cabana def. Bison Smith & Jimmy Rave with Prince Nana when Cabana pinned Rave with a folding press. To start, Smith & Rave beat down Danielson with Grizzly Redwood coming out, only to have Colt Cabana run down and clean house. "Great, great match. Place was electric." Cabana gets on the mic and DEMANDS The Final Countdown, which is played.

7. D'Lo Brown def. Jay Briscoe after Briscoe misses a top rope legdrop and Brown rolls him up with a handful of tights. "Okay."

8. El Generico & Kevin Steen def. The American Wolves of Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards to retain the ROH World Tag Team Titles when Richards tapped in the sharpshooter. Post match beatdown from The Wolves includes a sick chair shot from Edwards on Steen, busting him open, and Generico taking a doomsday ace crusher through a table. Steen is tied to the ropes with tape and takes chair shots to the legs, followed by a nasty conchairto.

9. Nigel McGuinness def. GHC Jr. Heavyweight Champion KENTA to retain the ROH World Title when KENTA tapped in the London dungeon. Finishing sequence saw McGuinness hit KENTA with the GTS, KENTA kicks out, London dungeon, KENTA rolls out with a GTS tease, divorce court, London dungeon, KENTA taps!
