I just think we shortchange a lot of creativity when we blanket dismiss ideas like the Authority. TV shows, movies, books, etc., deal with authority figures constantly in new and creative ways. If people didn't like the Seth-Rollins-fronted Authority, that's fine, but that doesn't mean one fronted by a Samoa Joe couldn't be great because it'll be an entirely-different thing.

Personally, I don't see Joe winning the Universal or WWE Championship while he's in Trips' pocket, anyway.

Yeah, I can't see him winning the title while they have him in that role. I'll be curious to see what they do with him, though, and how it all pans out between now and WM.

But, Punk wasn't poised for it so much as he forced his way into it. It's almost like they're setting Joe up that way from the start.

They truly didn't know what to do with Punk, so Punk made his own way...they were just smart enough to run with it when he did.
