Keeping this short and to the point, ended up giving this a 7/10 which mostly has to do with the two great Rumble matches themselves and less with the undercard which I honestly have no desire to even talk about.

Back to the Rumble matches, I'm glad WWE made the right call in both situations. I'm pretty sure I was one of the first to raise the concern of WWE perhaps not fond of the idea of having two Japanese stars go over on the same night in both these Rumble matches but it all turned out great and reason prevailed. Both Nakamura and Asuka were the best choices and thankfully both won.

Aside from that, I'll dare say Stephanie wasn't as bad on commentary after all and Rousey's late appearance was indeed awkard but I guess the idea was for it to be a cliffhanger, keeping us intrigued as to what's next....

Men's rumble was okay but felt like it dragged on a fair bit even when the entries were in the 20s.

Women's rumble was just... bad. The wrestling was bad, the botches were kinda worse but the most unbearable thing was hearing how 'history making' it was. It may have been, but does not mean we gotta hear about it every 2 minutes.

The women's rumble also proved to me that to Vince McMahon all black people are the same, be it Naomi or Kofi, they want a black person to 'creatively' dodge elimination only to be eliminated soon after.

Both rumble's winners were pretty predictable, especially once Sasha Banks (thankfully) got eliminated and same with Balor.

I'm very happy for the WM match just to see that rematch between AJ and Nakamura.

Other stuff may have happened.

This is the first event I watched in almost 6 months and I quickly realized why I don't bother watching WWE. I guess I'll tune in for WM and then the next rumble lol.

Gonna give it 7/10 just because the legend spots weren't too cringy (especially in the women's royal rumble)

Ronda was very cringe tho. She couldn't even point well, smh.

Just watched the RR.... I agree that Ronda was cringe.

Why was she even in the show if she didn't enter the rumble? And she literally said nothing!?

AJ Styles vs Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn ***1/2

A very intriguing match to start off the show. Slow from the beginning as expected, but it eventually picked up steam, and the crowd was red hot for it. The ending of the match was good, and it progresses the storyline further.

Usos vs Benjamin and Gable ***1/4

Man this match was going great up until the ending, which left a bad taste in the mouth. It certinaly didn't help Benjamin and Gable. The match itself was well wrestled as expected, with a lot of fun and cool spots. Keeping the title on the Usos is a no brainer for me, but I would have liked it if Benjamin and Gable at least won a fall.

Men's Royal Rumble ****

One of the best Rumble matches in recent memory, filled with great moments and impressive performances. Balor and Rusev was a great duo to start of the match, with Rusev probably being the most over wrestler on the entire show, well next to Nakamura. Balor had an amazing performance, lasting from number 2 all the way to the final 4. This match had a ton of highlights and memorable moments so I will just name a few : Elias entrance, Baron Corbin freaking out, everyone kicking Slater on their way to the ring, the NXT champion Andrade Cien Almas coming it at number 7 and having a GREAT performance, Kofi Kingston's leap, Hurricane Helms, and Rey Mysterio (who looks amazing) returning, Adam Cole entering, and of course Rusev Day. The ending of the match was fantastic. The final sequence between Reigns and Nakamura was great, and Nakamura eliminating both Cena and Reigns to win the match was the perfect way to book him. The only thing that I disliked about this match was the absolute waste of Dolph Ziggler, besides that everything about it was great.

Cesaro and Sheamus vs Rollins and Jordan **1/2

Not a bad idea storyline wise, but the structure of the card fcked this match over.

Brock vs Kane vs Braun **

This was a mess! From Brock going MMA on Strowman, Kane taking the F5, and Strowman putting himself through a table I'd rather not waste much time talking about this one.

Women's Royal Rumble **3/4

Let me start this off with saying that, NO I don't think it was a good idea at all to have this match be the main event. Especially since : A) It raped the flow of the show, and B) the men's match was one of the best in a long time. Don't get me wrong it had its moments, and if it switched places with the men's rumble match I would have been completely ok with it. Lets first look at the positives before diving into the problems I had :

1. Sasha Banks had a beast performance,
2 .Seeing some of the old WRESTLERS was nice.
3. Lita Trish and Michelle McCooll looked better then almost the entire current women's roster,
4. Beth vs Nia was cool.
5. Asuka vs Ember Moon was great.
6. Asuka winning

Now on to the bad :
1. S2-D2 on commentary was dreadful, the only two things she kept spamming were "OOOOOO", and "this is a revolution".
2. It had no buissness being the closing match.
3. The wrestling was clunky for the most part.
4. While some of the nostalgic moments and returns were cool, nostalgia alone can't carry the match, which leads me to my next point.
5. None of the current roster girls (except for Asuka) got a reaction from the crowd. I wonder why, they have been booked so well in the past.
6. Pretty much all of the "surprise entrants" were on the 25th anniversary of Raw, so it really wasn't that much of a surprise.
7. Rousey coming out after the match was great and all, but here is a bright idea, WHY NOT HAVE HER ENTER THE ACTUAL MATCH AND WIN IT. Instead she comes out after the match and points at the WM sign TWICE. Why? Does she get a free title shot at Wrestlemania? If so, then I do hope they realize that all the effort and hard work put into this match by the wrestlers, and the history making meaning of it, which was shoved down everybody's throat so much, is instantly erased if a chick can come out, POINT AT A SIGN, TWICE, and get a title shot despite not even being in the match. But hey, Its a revolution.

Overall : 7/10 - Despite it's problems, I still had a blast watching this show. If the structure of the card was better, it would have probably gotten a higher rating.

So I'm skimming through the remainder of the ppv now that I finally got a chance. Watched up to the end of the men's rumble Monday morning and haven't got time to see much else.

Started skipping through the universal title match and came across the point where it looks like shit got real for a minute. Looked as though Braun delivered a knee to lesnars head with a little something extra on it. Brock looked shook for a second before getting up, giving him a rib shot then a punch in the head that seemed to stun Braun.

Anyone else notice that and think anything of it? And did I miss something before that? Not enough time to watch the whole thing this morning lol.

**edit**
Haha ok now I see I was practically right at the beginning of the match.
My.problem was they showed a replay when Brock was outside the ring so I rewinded to that point not noticing it was actually the beginning of the match. My bad

A slow motion GIF of Brock Lesnar punching Braun Strowman in the face

This exchange between Brock and Braun sure looks like a shoot

I have to admit I'm surprised no one else has mentioned
that moment...and it was really the only interesting thing
to happen during the entire match.

Personally I think it just shows how "unprofessional" Lesnar
really is...but I'm guessing he wasn't really interested in being
in this match...and honestly...I don't blame him...but that's still
no reason to "shoot punch" a guy in the temple.

In hindsight they should have let him have the night off & put
Strowman & Kane in the Rumble.

It doesn't really matter anyway...the WWE continue to hold
Strowman back as they prepare to set up a Wrestlemania
31 main event rematch that I'm sure will end the night with
a chorus of boos.

I'm sure Strowman will be pinned clean by the Plank of
Wood in the Elimination Chamber...stalling his momentum
even further.

I hate to say this because I'm happy for A.J to hold onto the
World title for like a year or more...but Strowman needs to
move to SmackDown to have any chance of stepping up to
the next level.

I stand by my statement...the WWE should have put the belt
on Strowman at Summerslam last year...the timing was perfect,
Strowman was white hot & the crowd was so ready for it.

But I guess they'll just have him "be cute" with Alexa Bitch in
the Mixed Match Challenge & have him cause some property
damage every once in while.

God forbid anyone should look stronger than the Plank of Wood.

Rant over...

I enjoyed the 2 Rumble matches...but the other matches on the
card were kind of weak sauce.

If you took the card from the Royal Rumble 2017 & swapped out
the men's rumble from this year & added the women's rumble...
then that would have been a 5 star show.

Well I feel it was more of a response to kinda say hey calm the hell down. It looked like a hell of a knee. And it quite clearly rocked lesnar. So he delivered a (very) stuff response

7/10

Rumble was booked ok but should have had a couple more creative spots & certainly should have had better surprises.

Helms did nothing for me & guys already signed to WWE do nothing for me.

Popped for Mysterio..

even though it was a one time thing & I would have liked to see somebody I was excited new or returning to stay like Omega, Scurll or Rey for another run.

Only other thing I popped for in the mens was Zayn coming out at thw possibillity of him winning.

Not sure if I would've booked Shinsuke to win but definitely not the worst choice... also really liked the wrestling at the end of the match & Roman actually impressed me.

Women's was ok... most of the legends were pretty rusty except molly. Liked the trish/mickie spot.

Tag match had no room on the card & the ko/zayn/aj should've been much better when you think of the caliber matches of previous rumbles like rock/mankind

Triple threat felt very rushed & not important what so ever

Just on a side note...here in Australia the WWE dvd/blu-ray
releases always have pretty lame covers & artwork...most of
the match results being spoiled with photos on the back....

but fucking look at this...

Fucking Ronda pointing...while Alexa Bliss
looks like a cardboard cut out.

Jesus H. Madman Entertainment...try a little
bit harder.
