I've gotta give props though. Bonus points for that conspiracy theory being true.

Roman is a heel. WWE learned from their 2014/2015 mistakes and used Roman in a pretty good way the last two Rumbles, as the heat-seeking missile that leaves the crowd happy when ANYONE BUT YOU ROMAN wins

I don't give WWE that much credit....

I think they were just looking to set up Taker Vs Roman and then where Taker & all the other big men came out so late in the Rumble, they booked him that late too & just decided on #30 to burn the fans

50,000 fans is alot of people to get boo'd by.... I hope Vince is ready for Roman to get boo'd by 100,000 at WM... Never know, maybe they turn him heel by destroying Undertaker.

Not that I really give a crap, he won't be any more talented either way.

They should've just had taker cost roman the title match, then later in the night roman cost taker the rumble (WITHOUT ENTERING THE RUMBLE)

They should just realize Reigns is a lost cause and focus on their attention
on developing and pushing other talented performers such as...

A.J Styles, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin, Braun Strowman, Finn Balor, Rusev,
Cesaro, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Shinsuke Nakamura,
Bobby Roode, Tye Dillinger & American Alpha.

There is more to wrestling than Roman Reigns and enough of the WWE roster has
suffered due to the constant push that he has been given.

One of the main reasons I enjoy SmackDown so much as it feels more "even" in its
booking. You know some younger guys are getting pushed (Corbin, American Alpha)
but it feels more natural and organic.

If you go back to the Shield and make a list of everything WWE has done since then
to try and get Roman over...it is downright staggering...here is a small sample of said list...
  • Was always the hot tag in The Shield.
  • Rarely took the pinfall for The Shield.
  • Made "The Leader" during the Shield's final days. Was the main focus of the Evolution/Wyatt's feud.
  • Broke Survivor Series elimination record.
  • Broke The Rumble elimination record.
  • Retained all Shield likeness, including the entrance through the crowd. (ensures that it always looks like the crowd is into him)
  • Blatant use of Samoan heritage.
  • Got the rub from The Rock.
  • As above, exploited Dean Ambrose's popularity.
  • Daniel Bryan begging us to like Roman.
  • Paul Heyman begging us to like Roman.
  • Always gets the stipulation matches, even if undeserved (eg HIAC, Seth/Kane made more sense to be in the cell).
  • Always get's the cool spots on the show, while the rest of the card have to tone it down.
  • Using his own child for storyline purposes (Bray Wyatt)
  • Rehashing the Daniel Bryan underdog story
  • Now it seems like they want him to get the "USA pop" against the European stable of Sheamus and co.
  • Muting crowd responses
As you can tell this list is quite dated but feel free to add your own.

If only the WWE could put this much effort into the rest of the roster...

*Sigh*

I just realized how big the Alamodome is... that was nearly Mania sized! WTF VINCE YOU SHOULD OF PULLED ALL STOPS the only surprise Dillinger he hated. WTF did he love the rumble I assume?! Because he is fucking out of touch, son of a fucking bitch, 2017 will have a worse mania than 2011 did if Vince treats wrestlemania like the rumble

Why so many negative emotions When Roman Came out as #30? :emoji_confused:

Many...Many....Many....Many...reasons...

1. He already had a WWE Universal Championship Match earlier in the night so it made no sense that he'd get number 30 for losing.
2. Fans were already tired of him.
3. They expected someone like Samoa Joe or a surprise at number 30
4. He was only put in that spot so the fans could cheer the then heel Orton when he won (which if you need to put a babyface in that spot to put over a heel, it is sad).
5. Fans for a long time felt he was "overexposed and pushed" and this further made them think that.
6. *Insert what happened at Royal Rumble 2015*

Why so many negative emotions When Roman Came out as #30? :emoji_confused:

Mostly because it came as an obvious troll moment. Roman had a match earlier in the night and those of us who do not enjoy watching him were happy he was done for the night. But all of a sudden, he comes out at number 30 so:

1. We were expecting a surprise entrant in that match and instead got someone the majority of the fans did not want to see getting yet ANOTHER chance at the title.
2. The rationale being "Well he lost a Universal title match earlier in the night, so even though he lost fair and square, let's give him another chance!
3. It was further confirmation of Vince telling us "You pay us the money that keeps us in business but that doesn't mean we have to entertain you... we're still going to do what we want and spit on your money."

And no, Wrestling would suck big time if Vince just did everything I wanted him to do. But there are those certain things he does which truly come across as a middle finger to the people who support him and who have given him money for decades and this was one of them, in my opinion.

And no one try explaining to me why it wasn't because I've been watching this stuff for over 30 years and I know when Vince is giving us a middle finger.
