Doesn't matter. You DON'T disrespect the dead.

It's all within the context of a storyline. And we all know WWE would go there since they went there with Eddie and went there with Lawler's heart attack. Hell, Vince made fun of JR's colon cancer in 2005 and his bell's palsy last year, even though many grilled Russo and Ferrera over doing the same exact thing in WCW.

I wouldn't even care, honestly. Cheap heat, nothing more.

If Taker is okay with it Punk will do it. Punk would probably do it anyway.

And Taker is who? What about Paul Bearer's family? Don't they have a saying in this?

William Moody's family is not mourning Paul Bearer, they are mourning William Moody. It is not Moody, the person that Punk will slander, but Paul Bearer the character.

Totally. Why should anyone care if a ficticious character such as Paul Bearer is brought in to further enhance a feud? William Moody never worked in the WWE under his real name. The person behind the character will remain completely unslandered since no family issues or personal issues will be brought up. Paul Bearer is a completely different entity than the PERSON who portrayed him. Your argument is in theory similar to say me being unable to slander Batman because of an actor portraying him recently dying.

Yes. He is.

The actor playing the character may be dead, but the character of Paul bearer lives on and can be part of the show.
WWE owns the rights to the Paul bearer character.

Well, if that's the case, let's check this statement out. Jerry Lawler's real name is Jerry Lawler, and Punk made fun of his heart attack. Than Eddie Guerrero was mocked by Randy Orton only few weeks later after his death, as of being in hell.

I wonder if Vince would allow someone to mock his son's or daughter's death and use it as a enhancement for a feud...

1. Lawler gave Punk permission to do that and is rumored to have even suggested it.
2. Vickie Guerrero (Eddie's widow) and Chavo (Eddie's nephew) gave permission.
3. Vince is Vince. You can never be sure what he could or wouldn't allow. This is the same man who green lit an angle which involved his daughter being drugged, kidnapped and forcibly married to Triple H. And another were his wife was tombstoned.

You are letting ficticious characters mix in with real life. You need to take a step back and look at the wrestlers as characters.

This is a guy who once wanted to have an incest storyline with his own daughter for fuck's sake... He'll do almost anything for heat that will get a reaction or draw money. (Mocking his children's death MIGHT be the line, but I can bet that Vince would be ok with someone mocking his own real life death.)

Judging by this in the WWE people are nothing more than a property...

You are as a person treated fairly as an employee in the WWE. But there is a complete difference between your on screen persona as to your real life one. Wrestlers don't go out there and be themselves, not even guys who wrestle under their real names like Angle, Cena or Eddie G. They instead develop characters based on themselves but with enhanced character traits.

Wonder if you'll be OK with CM Punk talking shit about you being dead to enhance his heat. Let's see what your mom, dad, brothers or sisters would think of that.

__________

You two just keep giving me more and more reasons why I should stop watching the WWE.

If I was an entertainer/wrestler I would be okay with him mocking my CHARACTER. You seem to think that Punk would go out there and trash William Moody the person. In this theoretical scenario that Punk would mock Bearer's passing he would be mocking a FICTICIOUS CHARACTER. He would in no way, shape or form mock William Moody the father, husband or brother.

You're completely missing the point. See:

They obviously wouldn't have done it if his family members weren't okay with it. So, in the point you're trying to make, they wouldn't do it for me if my family wasn't okay with it.
