We noted before that The Rock trained with Michael McGillicutty to prepare for his Royal Rumble match. Rock is now supporting McGillicutty and he’s always had Triple H backing him. No word yet on why he continues to be kept on the lower end of the roster. There’s been a big push to get rid of his name and call him Joe Hennig but WWE officials are so against real names these days because they want to full own everyone’s ring name.

Gillicutty deserves it. That being against real name is totally stupid. Thank You Rock for supporting Gillicutty, that guy has potential.

Would be kind of nice to have him up there. His matches with Tyson Kidd were spectacular. Letting him have his real name would be kind of nice too.

Yeah, he can always cut a solid promo changing his name better than Johnny Nitro becoming John Morrison did too.

Now copy the rest of the post where I was comparing his mic skills to John Morrison.

When talking about Hennig, people always bring up that God-awful NXT promo he did like 3 years ago, but then completely ignore the much more recent stuff he did on NXT the past year and a half. He's improved a good bit on the mic, on part with a lot of people that get airtime on Raw and Smackdown. Ring-wise, the dude is phenomenal, he can have a good match with pretty much anyone, I've been calling for him to get a good mid-car push for over a year now.

Surely they can come up with a decent name for him even if they don't want it to be his actual name so that they can trademark it. McGillicutty is just such a strange name for a wrestler. Hell even calling him Junior Perfect would be better than that. I don't know why he isn't used on either show in the midcard, he is a solid hand and if they actually gave him a gimmick and a storyline it would give more fans a chance to connect with him.

You can make any new guy work if they are 3rd generation. Just play up the papa and grnad pap card and you have a starter for the newish guy. Should've called him Joe from the beginning and give him a t-shirt that says "born into perfection".

Looking back, Orton was one of the most vanilla superstars prior to his "Legend Killer" gimmick.

He needs to drop the stupid "McGillicutty" and go by "Hennig" instead though.

Why are they against using real names anyway? Is it because they don't want any "big names" they manufacture defecting to other places? I'm guessing that this is the case...say if John Cena or Randy Orton came to some kind of disagreement with management and defected to TNA or something. It's like an accident waiting to happen.

Even the Jr. Perfect name suggested on the previous page is ok in comparison, is "McGillicutty" even a real name?

Urban Dictionary: McGillicutty

This is a good filler word when you can't think of the name of a particular object or person you want to reference.
Go into my office and grab the McGillicutty off of my desk.

:lmao :lmao

They can't trademark real names so that is why they don't want to use them and would rather create something new for each wrestler.
